What I can do with my hands makes women weep. When my old protege, now a college professor, asks me to tutor one of his students, I’m hesitant.Lily is exceptionally talented and gifted. Though her nervous chatter and over-the-top performance style…needs work. She needs the kind of instruction I can give her.I’m driven to distraction wondering how her glorious curves would feel in my hands and … glorious curves would feel in my hands and how she would respond to my fingers playing music on her body.
And damn if Lily doesn’t have me rethinking my life and choices. The more I’m with her, the more I have to have her.
Lily’s family is pushing her toward a career in law. It would be criminal for her to give up her dream and ignore her profound talent. I’m going to help her achieve everything she deserves. She doubts herself and her exquisite ability, but I can hear she’s one of the most talented young musicians I’ve ever encountered.
I’m determined to make her my partner and create beautiful music with her. Forever.
Shining Star is a flirty and dirty 20K novella, with no cheating and a guaranteed HEA.

I’m going to be truly honest, when I first hear about an author I’ve never read their work before, I’m hesitant but I’ve got to admit that I liked this story a lot! This is my first time reading this author’s work and I don’t regret a single moment of reading this story at all because it has all the elements of a well-written story, with great chemistry, heat, passion, some drama and angst, including good secondary characters, some funny moments and a good epilogue as well 🙂

A well written romance with nice storyline and plot. It is written in dual POV which gives the reader more of the thoughts and feelings of the main characters and brings the story closer to the reader. The characters are likeable and well described. They develop nicely through the story. I like their chemistry.
It is a passionate story about a tutor and a student. Absolutely a story that has a great mix of romance, family issues, trust, hurt, younger woman/older man, twists and emotions. A woman that needs a man to stand up for her and support her.
Captivating and enjoyable short read.
This was a very entertaining older man and younger woman story, once i started reading it i couldnt put it down.

Lily tries to be professional but when Max kisses her after a lesson its hard not to cross that line. Will the obstacles in their way keep them apart? What will happen if they are caught?

A fantastic heart wrenching romance story about Lilly a young woman who dreams of attending Juilliard as a pianist, however her family is pushing her toward law school. Max is a widower who is asked to tutor Lilly. Passion ignites and love blossoms. Will Lilly’s insecurities about herself tear Lilly and Max apart or will Max be able to break through her wall of fear and find happiness? Filled with fear, doubts, insecurities, steamy passion, and encouraging love. Shining Star is a great book about overcoming doubts with courage and the love of the person meant for you. It was great book that I absolutely loved. The story line was heartwarming and the characters were wonderful.

Her music instructor gets a very well known talented musician to tutor her for her upcoming audition. He has sworn off of any romance but is drawn to her. He helps her to flourish in her music. Her family is in the way though. They think her music is silly and she needs to go into law. she lives in her sister’s shadow. It is very well written and recommended. Lily’s mom completely ignored Lily’s outburst about wanting to be a pianist, her lifelong dream. Instead her mother continued telling her that she would love a challenging law career just as her sister Helena did. Not only did her parents not listen to her, but they had no respect for her choices either, always urging her to be more like her sister. She has an audition coming up for Juilliard, and her dad agreed that if she were accepted, he would help pay for her tuition – but she knew they hoped she would chicken out and not bother. To them, it was merely a hobby.
Lily’s roommate, Aspen, is dragging her out tonight to relax. Lily told her that her piano instructor, Mr. Pritchett, was trying to get a famous pianist he knew to continue her lessons to the next level. But for tonight, she would let Aspen take her to the free concert to relax. No dating, though, because unless the man shared a passion for music and understood the creative talent that made her different, she just wasn’t interested.
Sylvester Pritchett was having dinner with Max Bowles and asked his favor to help Lily. She was the best he had ever taught, and he wanted the talented and renowned Max to bring her skills to perfection. Max was moving to Italy as soon as his private music school teaching stint was over, but he finally agreed to do his friend this favor and tutor Lily. But when Lily played for him and added a “flourish” to the music, Max was not pleased. He showed her how he wanted it and said he would see her in 3 days. Then he went to yell at Sylvester for getting him into this!
Lily shows up for her next lesson with dark circles under her eyes. Max figures she’s nursing a hangover. She plays, but bangs the keys at the difficult allegro and he keeps stopping her. Then he sits beside her and shows her what he wants. He holds his hand over hers and when she bangs the keys again, he gently strokes her fingers and she lightens up. At last, she is able to get through the difficult section with no incidents, and he begins to notice the talent that Sylvester has been praising.
After the lesson, Max and Lily walk out of the practice room. He put his arm around her waist and, apologizing, he pulls her close and kisses her. To his surprise, she kisses him back! But before they get too far, his phone rings and he has to leave. What was that all about? Is he truly interested in her? Or is this just a dream?
I enjoyed this story of two people who shared such a passion for music that it pulled them together despite their age and life differences. The story line was good and fast-paced, the characters well-defined. Lily is so close to her dream, but her family won’t take it seriously. Only her instructors believing in her could make the difference as she prepares for her audition. Will she succeed? Will she find someone to share her passion? Will she reach and even share those dreams after all?
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review .this is a story of Lily who wants to go to julliard, but her family don’t believe in her ,but her teachers do. She meets max. Beautiful story.
This is a story of hope, as Lily fights the pressure from her family to go to law school, wanting instead to follow her dream and win a place at Juilliard. Lily’s life changes when her tutor persuades the famous pianist Max Bowles to work with her on the Juilliard audition. Little did they know that their hearts would soon be playing to the same music
Sweet and loving story. I like the Lily brought love to Max again and that his son was open to it. The timeline of certain things didn’t make sense but it didn’t take away from the story too much. I would have loved to see of the interaction between Max and Lily during their instruction times to see more of how their love developed.
