Another Gem of a Story! Fabulous Audible Listen
Shining Pearls (An Addictive Small-Town Romance Series)
Brunswick Bay Harbor Gems, Book 2
By: Ann Omasta
Narrated by: Ann Omasta
This is a great sequel to “Shattered Diamond”’s which ended with a mind-blowing twist. (((If you have not read that book yet beware of a spoiler ahead))) This book picks up right were that book left off, Alex was getting cozy with Josie when they hear someone come in, Alex goes to check and is shocked to see who it is. A year ago his wife disappeared with out a trace, just about everyone in town accused him of foul play and killing his wife by. And here she standing right in front of him. She notices he was getting cozy with Josie. It was great to find out what happened to Claire and see Alex’s reaction. Ann Omasta continues to bring twists and turns to the Claire, Alex and Josie triangle. There is never a dull moment in this book, no shortage of drama as these three deal with what life brings them. Josie was aces as usual. It was Claire who surprised me the most in this book, how well she handled everything. Alex was a huge disappointment. I get he was trying to do right by Claire but in my eyes he was a huge zero. I was really glad to see more of Dean, loved how he stepped up. The book ends in a cliff hanger and a big “oh no”. I am looking forward to see what comes next in “Shimmering Emeralds” Book 3 of the “Brunswick Bay Harbor Gems” series. Thank you Ann Omasta for another great story and emotional rollercoaster ride.
I listened to the Audible edition, Ann Omasta is not only a wonderful author but she is a wonderful narrator and voice performer too. She continues to bring these characters to life, gives each their own voice and personality. She is an entertaining storyteller and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for another great listen
Just when Alex, Josie and Hannah’s lives are on track his wife Clare is back. She had been kidnapped and was able to escape her captors but when she gets home she finds her husband with another woman. A man torn between the two women he loves and a little girl torn between her mom and her nanny. There is so much going on with these characters and this series just gets better and better. Shining Pearls is book two of the Brunswick Bay Harbor Gems series and I can’t wait to read the next book to find out what happens next.
The love triangel in a small town continues.
There are a lot of heartache in different ways in this second book about Josie, Alex, Claire and Dean.
Despite all that happened to Claire she tries to involve Josie and they become friends.
I just have to read the next book and find out about what happened to Hanna.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book
This is the second book of the Brunswick Bay Harbor Gems, I am fortunate enough to read both books. I am glad that Alex is not a main character in this book, like in the first book. I don’t like Alex in this story. I am looking forward to reading the next book in this series.
I received an ARC of this book and this is my voluntary review.
An entertaining story full of twists and turns! Lots of emotion and drama, ending in a cliffhanger! Cannot wait for more!

I couldn’t wait to get stuck into this book after how the last one ended, there is so much emotion going on for everyone that you don’t know who to feel the worst for and it doesn’t help wit all the complications that come up. We learn how Claire disappeared and get to know her more as well as see the fall out for Alex and Josie and it is not going to be an easy ride for anyone and I just don’t know where things will go from here but I can not wait to find out in the next book!!!
I’ve read a lot of books written by Ann Omasta; she has done a great job at writing another good book; she is one of my favorite authors. I can’t wait to read more of books her books.
The story line caught my attention at the very beginning and kept me interested throughout the entire book.
I loved the chemistry between the characters.

Book two of the Brunswick Bay Harbor brings more drama and complications to an already intriguing story. Ann’s books are always well written with exceptional editing, strong characters and interesting story lines. I can’t wait to see how the series ends!
This is a beautifully written love triangle romance set in small-town
This is an easy read with a bit of heat.
I had previously read Shattered Diamonds (which also ended on a cliff hanger) and was taken with the story, fraught with heartache, loss, but also hope for a brighter future.
Can’t wait to find out what happens next in Brunswick Bay Harbor.
A great read. Highly recommend.

Shining Pearls the second book in The Brunswick Bay Harbor series by Ann Omasta is page turner and has twists and turns. Alex’s wife Claire, who was presumed murdered by Alex unexpectedly returns and upends Josie relationship with Alex and his daughter Hannah. Claire is the love of Alex’s life and now the relationship between Alex, Claire and Josie changes. Shining Pearls is well written and leaves you wanting to read the next book in the series to find out what happens next with Alex, Claire, Hannah and Josie. I highly recommend reading this book. I received this book as an arc for an honest review of It.
The saga of Josie, Alex and others continues and this book will take you on a roller coaster of emotions that will leave you feeling wrung out at the end. Alex is weak and a coward and his treatment of Josie broke my heart. Josie is a champ and Dean is amazing and I am happy for them and the change in their relationship. Looking forward to the next book.

The second book – and it would be difficult to start here, as the book picks up where the first one ended.
Alex was a man struggling with a vanished wife, he loved, a small daughter and the suspicion of the small-town people that he may have killed his wife. He finally finds some happiness with Josie, when his wife Claire returns after about one year. Coming to grips with the new situation without damaging an innocent child takes a toll an all of them, and town gossip does not help.
They find an interesting solution, believable to the reader.
A small warning – the book ends on another cliff-hanger…

This is the second book in the Brunswick Bay Harbor Gems series. I would not consider this series as a standalone as Josie, Alex and Hannah’s story continues on this book as they all are still dealing with Alex’s wife, Claire’s disappearance. This story picks up right where we left off in the previous book. All I can say is hang on to your hats people as this book is a true roller coaster. You will feel every bump, high and low along with the characters. The story does not end here but leads us readers to another rest stop on this crazy journey where a HEA as much as it is wanted is still up in the clouds. Enjoy!

Drama, drama, drama: Alex, what have you done?
August 22, 2019
Format: Kindle Edition
This love triangle romance set in small-town coastal Pacific Northwest with a smitten other man and an innocent young girl caught in the fallout is an enjoyable, fairly fast-paced continuation of the characters and situation from Shattered Diamonds. The story is told from the alternate POVs of swimming coach Josie and “returned from the dead” Claire, who has trouble reconciling the fact that her husband’s and her young daughter’s lives moved on in her absence in the year she abruptly disappeared without a trace and no warning. Their close-knit family and friends are all dealing, each in his or her own way, with the repercussions of Claire’s absence and sudden return. Josie has some tough truths to face, not the least of which is how closely should she rely on Dean, her best friend who obviously carries a torch for her. I felt that the man in the middle, Claire’s husband Alex, became a bit less likable in this part of the series because of the way he deals with Josie. Meanwhile, Josie grows up and faces some hard truths, Claire makes a laudable effort to keep their family going and ensure their daughter’s continued cheery outlook, and the whole crew anticipate happy changes.
This is an easy read, with a bit of heat, and a HFN (hurrah!) until the last page, which sets up a whole new drama for the same characters. I don’t know how I feel about that. Yes, it makes me wonder about the next book but I rather like stories to have a satisfying end. Should I just ignore the teaser to get my happy ending?
I read a complimentary advance copy of the book; this is my voluntary and honest review.
A super drama
Two women, one man, and one child are the main characters in this terrific story. Claire was kidnapped and finally escaped after a year of captivity only to find her husband with another woman. She soon learned that she was the “nanny”. The fallout is considerable and affecting more than just their immediate family. Two pregnancies, work to resolve the awkward situation, and the ending will have you ordering the next book. As always a great story that is brought alive by Ms. Omasta’s talented writing.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.
Coming back from book one to more situations
Alex and his daughter are trying to move forward since his wife disappeared a year ago. He and Josie his nanny have become close and his daughter is finally happy again. But what happens when Alex’s wife Claire returns saying she was kidnapped and escaped. She also finds out her husband and daughter have moved on with Josie the nanny. To make matters worse Josie finds herself pregnant! How will this work out for Alex and Claire and their daughter, plus Josie and her pregnancy?

Shining Pearls (Brunswick Bay Harbor Gems, #2) was another great read by Ann Omasta. Alex was still dealing with the heartbreak of his wife’s disappearance when he met Josie. She wound up helping him move on from that heartbreak and helped his daughter through the same heartbreak. Unfortunately the truth about his wife’s disappearance surfaces and everything changes for Alex and Josie. I love Alex and Josie’s story and although things don’t go as they planned, I think their story is exactly what it should be. I can’t wait to read more in this series and more books by Ann Omasta.
HEARTBREAK HOTEL!!!
Heartache and miracles! Ann torn this baby down, layed it out and put it back together skillfully. You are not going to believe how this installment plays out. All the sharp corners, sleek lines and rough patches add the elements needed to spin this baby to life flawlessly. Twists and turns abound with a bevy of circumstances and unpredictable surprises you never see coming until it slaps you upside the head. HARD! A whirlwind of tumultuous emotions running rampant as we witness the trials and tribulations that grapple and hook this baby together piece by jagged piece. The characters and scenes are written with such realism it makes for a beautiful backdrop. Ann did a remarkable job bringing this read to life.
Shining Pearls is the second book in the Brunswick Harbor Gems series, these book most definitely should be read in order. I loved the first book but was a little disappointed that it ended in a cliffhanger. I really do not like books that end on a cliffhanger but I absolutely had to read this book to see how Claire coming back played out. I really liked this book but was a little disappointed in Alex and how he handled the whole situation. Poor Josie was blamed for whole affair. This book ends in a cliffhanger but is worth the read. I can’t wait to read the next book!
