They’re called one-night stands for a reason. If you’re lucky, there’s a lot of mind-blowing sex and then you never have to see or speak to the person again. It’s fun and uncomplicated. In my case, Bash hightailed it to the airport the next morning so I definitely never expected to run into the former prospect for the Charon MC again. But when his mother passed, he dragged his pipes all the way … way from Texas to New York, and now he’s crashing at the Satan’s Knights clubhouse. Which also happens to be where I work and the scene of our one-night crime. If I thought forgetting the orgasm champ was hard before, it just became damn impossible.
Grief can shake a man, make him question his whole damn life and have him taking chances he never thought he’d take. Chances like moving to Staten Island, New York. Chances like prospecting for a new club. Chances like being around a certain fiery bartender who has been in my head since we shared one incredible night. Even though I should be completely focused on earning my colors, there’s a part of me that wants to chance chasing Lydia Gallo for more than one night. I want to break down her walls and uncover every one of her secrets…patch be damned.
Editorial note: Shifting Gears is the first book in the Satan’s Knights Prospect Trilogy and is a spin-off from Khloe Wren’s Charon MC universe. It can be read and enjoyed as a standalone.

Oh Lydia… is that even your real name?
You tried my patience. You angered me. And I didn’t like you.
Oh… were you waiting for me to soften the blow with something positive?
Sorry… I’ve got nothing.
However, Bash gets tons of love. He was super sweet and I loved how JIB brought him to life. From his southern twang to his swagger to his enormous heart, he was someone you just have to get to know. It was very easy to fall in love with him. There’s even a scene between him Parrish that made him realize that he was Property of Parrish and it was absolutely perfect. I’m really looking forward to see him again in the books to come.
What a great beginning
Based on the blurb, I wasn’t sure that I was going to like Bash. Certainly not fall in love with him. I mean he had no issue with the one-night stand thing. But, in his defense, it does take two to tango. Bash ends up being this wonderful guy who, when paired with Lydia who has been hurt in the past and has several little quirks of her own, manages to find his perfect HEA. This is the first book I have read by this author, and I am looking forward to reading many more.
Shifting Gears is the first book and an amazing start to the Satan Knight’s Prospect Trilogy. Ever since being introduced to Bash in the Crossover Collection I’ve been anxious to read his story and I was not disappointed. Bash is an excellent addition to the Satan Knight family. Both Bash and Lydia were complex characters each with their own issues but together they were absolutely perfect. Bash’s charm was enough to break down Lydia’s walls but it didn’t hurt that they had intense chemistry and their steamy scenes were hott. I loved the mystery/suspense aspect of the story, I loved that we get the other Satan Knight characters and I absolutely loved that HEA ending.
Shifting Gears was a fantastic story and another 5 star read from Janine Infante Boscoe. I loved it and would highly recommend it to all lovers of MC romance.
When the country meets the city it makes for one heck of a ride (and a dang good read). This is the continuation of Bash’s story. His story began in the prequel crossover novella by Khloe Wren, titles “Losing Bash”.
Bash has just lost his mother and is not sure what he wants to do with his life. Stay with the Charon MC in Texas or take a leap at a new life in New York with the Satan’s Knights MC, which just happens to be the spot he had an unforgettable night with Lydia, the bartender he met when the two clubs joined forces a couple months back.
While Bash is in NY, trying to decide where he fits in, he reconnects with Lydia. But everything isn’t all peaches and cream. Nash senses Lydia is hiding her own secrets and the Satan’s Knights MC is fighting an unknown threat.
This is a thrilling, sexy MC Romance that kept me glued to the pages. It’s a very well written storyline with amazing characters and situations you don’t want to miss out on. 2 Thumbs Up and 5 Stars for an excellent book I highly recommend grabbing up, ASAP.
Bash and Lydia had one night together when he had to travel for his brothers to the Satan’s Knights MC house and she disappeared on him , when he got home she was never far from his mind then his mom passes and he has some major decisions to make as to whether he wants his patch with his brothers or to see where Lydia and the Satan’s Knights will take him.
Life altering is exactly what this book is to Lydia and Bash I hope you enjoy this story as much as I have and look forward to the next one in this trilogy
Rating: 4.5 Stars
Lydia Gallo gets the reader ready for this Satan’s Knights spinoff. Bash seems to want a fresh start. This may be their story but we get to see some of the other members of the Satan’s Knights. I’ve been enjoying the author’s MC series and this was a great addition.
You assume that Lydia has it together but she slowly reveals to the readers that she’s actually trying to protect herself. Once she comes into contact with Bash, she also wants to protect her heart. Bash has a pain in his heart and just wants it to go away. It was great to watch these two interact. Whenever she’s in the same place as Bash she seems to have an affliction called loose lips – and I loved that it continued right to the end. Bash will turn around and give us a good chuckle and it’s a great way to lighten the mood. When you really seem them talk to each other the scenes seem so realistic – you will have no trouble picturing those interactions.
Even though this can be considered a standalone. You may meet characters that you know nothing about. But if you know nothing, as you get introduced to them you may find yourself wanting to know more. One such man is Riggs. So you may just get hooked. You get enough of the secondary characters to know there’s an MC but the author always brings us back to the main story. This seems a little lighter than some of the other books that I’ve read but that’s not a bad thing since I get some good laughs out of it. There is an ending but there doesn’t seem to be any finality to it – that shouldn’t be too surprising since this is the first book in a new series. I just can’t wait to see if they make a reappearance.
I was not compensated nor was I required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own.
The Prospects have arrived and first up is Bash. Sweet, southern and utterly hysterical at times, he is exactly what Lydia needs in her life and this club needs as well. This book will have you feeling the ups and downs of this couple and the emotions they are both going through while dealing with new and old losses. We get to see some of our favorite Knights and in the end Ms. Bosco has yet again given us laughs and tears all throughout the same story! What a great way to begin the newest adventures with the newest members of the Satan’s Knights!
Per usual Janine did not disappoint. I love Bash and everything about him. And Lydia….well she’s a bit of firecracker. She mysterious and super sexy. These two are basically perfect for each other but in true Janine fashion their ending doesn’t come without it’s craziness first. There is danger and humor along with a few tragic moments, and all the action and sexy times you need to keep you on the end of your seat and burning through this book. 100% a must read!
Bash comes from Khloe Wren’s Charon MC series, after a few unfortunate events in Texas, he makes his way back to NY and the Satan’s Knights.
I’ve been waiting to dive into his story since I got a taste of him and Lydia in Losing Bash. This is everything I was hoping it would be. The majority of the story is light and fun with the banter and the huge personality that is all Bash. Bash is a what you see is what you get kind of guy, for the most part. As with any Knight, when you mess with what he holds dear, a switch is flipped and he resembles the reaper on his back.
Lydia has secrets of her own, that she’s worked hard to try and keep in her past. On the surface she’s done ok for herself, but it’s what nobody else sees that keeps her on edge and keeps her guard up. Does she dare to believe that she has a chance at normal?
The story has everything you’ve come to expect from a SK story. The danger that lurks, a bit of misdirection, the back and forth between the brothers, solid friendships that know no bounds and of course that sexy as sin parts too.
We had a small taste of Bash in Losing Bash by Khloe Wren and Shifting Gears picks up from there and gives us the story we have been itching for since. Bash and Lydia are two lost souls both who have suffered pain at the hands of someone that should have only shown them love. As these two start to learn and embrace the term we are so familiar with, Property of Parrish, it will take faith and trust in this and the Satans Knights to finally find their place, home and ultimately love. An action packed, steamy romance that will have you on the edge of your seat riding the unease and hoping that this newest prospect can win not only Lydia’s heart but her confidence. Bash will have your pulse racing with his big heart and his southern drawl and Lydia will show you an inner strength that she wasn’t even aware she had.
This is the 1st book in a new trilogy, and is a spin off from Khloe Wren’s Charon MC novella “Losing Bash”. After losing his mom Bash is a little lost and moves to NY to prospect for the Satan’s Knights. Lydia who is on the run from a psychotic ex, works in the bar which is owned by the club, and has crossed paths with Bash previously. This is a well written flawless story which is intense, emotional, tragic, and with secrets, danger, humour and love. I was totally captivated throughout this addictive page turner, and I cannot wait to read more in this amazing series. I highly recommend for all MC lovers!
After reading the crossover, I was so looking forward to more Bash. I definitely was not disappointed.
Bash tries to tell himself he is not going back to NYC for Lydia but the more he is there the more she is constantly on his mind.
Lydia didn’t expect to see her one night stand again but when she brings plates in to Wolf things crash 😉 as she sees Bash is back.
Can these two figure out if the can be what the other needs as things around the clubhouse and in life fall apart?
This was a great book and I can’t wait for the next one!!
I received a copy of this book from the publisher/author to review for Stephanie’s Book Reports.

Can I just say that I hope that Janine Infante Bosco never stops writing character from the Satan’s Knights world. There are so many of them that I have fallen in love with and now they feel like I am a part of them. This is a spin off of that series and the first book in the Satan’s Knights Prospect Trilogy. This is the story of Brash and Lydia. Poor Brash has suffered one of the most significant loses a human being can ever experience. He has lost his mom. After the most amazing night of his life and a one night stand he can not forget Brash is no in Stanton Island, New York and right back in the life of Lydia. Lydia too for her part thought that she would never see Brash again. He gave her what was without a doubt the most amazing night of her life and she has thought about him a lot. Now he is back in her life and he wants more from her. Something neither of them ever expected to happen. However Lydia is hiding a huge secret that could change everything forever. She has to keep her distance from Brash no matter what because of her past. Can these two ever find a way to make it all work out. I thought this book was emotional, a page turner and absolutely amazing. I was so engrossed in it that I couldn’t lay it down and I am always more than happy to surrender myself and be in the Satan’s Knight’s world. As always it is really great to see some familiar faces who make an appearance in this book. Like I said I hope the Satan’s Knight world never ends.
I absolutely love Bash. You get a taste of him in Losing Bash from Khloe Wren. This is the next part of his story. Bash in now back in New York after losing his mother trying to figure out how to move on with his life. He is a little lost. Lydia is the one that had what she believed to be a one night stand with Bash but he is now back and wants so much more. But she is keeping a huge secret from him that could destroy everything between them. At first the Satan Knight’s think that it is the cartel coming after one of their own. Little do they know that is not what is going on. I absolutely love what is going on between Bash and Lydia. How she tries her hardest to keep her distance from him because of her past but it isn’t so easy. Bash is just that person for her. Someone that is caring and wiling to be there for her no matter what . I love Janine and her writing. It is not only intense but the characters are amazing, intense and have amazing chemistry. This was a gripping storyline from beginning to end. I cant wait to get more from the Satan Knight’s.
Shifting Gear
My heart hurts for Lydia and Bash, they’re hurting for different reasons but somewhat the same past. Bash is devastated when his mom died, he thought she would be around a little longer but sadly that’s not what happened. As for Lydia, her past is brutal, she’s on the run from her ex not knowing if he’ll ever find her. It took getting to know Bash for Lydia to realize she wasn’t really living, she maybe terrified but she wants it Allan’s she knows with Bash by her side loving her she’ll soar through life. This book was sad, certain aspects of the book is not fiction and author Janine Infante Bosco did an amazing job with it
Once again I was blown away, I loved the 2 person POV. It made the story more real and come to life right before my eyes. Everything about this story was unpredictable that each page had something new rather it was a love story starting or the unbelievable happening. By the end I loved Lydia and Bash I was so happy with how it ended however I do feel like they need another story out of all the prospects I feel like there is more for him. It had this easy page turn vibe and really felt real almost like you were watching a flick or being a fly on the wall. I loved it that’s for sure. I think everyone should read this story and fall in love with all the characters.
The writing of this book is fantastic.
I have found another phenomenal author to follow.
Draws you in and keeps you focused.
The story line is something that can honestly happen to a woman who is/was in an abuse relationship.
Bash and Lydia even though they do not know each other for long, find their one and only love.
How do you top the Satan’s Knights MC series that made us all Property of Parrish? By dedicating a new series to the Prospects. Having fallen in love with Bash in Kloe Wren’s Losing Bash, I was totally looking forward to this read, and I must say Janine never disappoints. The story is engaging, heartbreaking, and healing. Bash and Lydia have definite chemistry, and are both dealing with painful pasts. Can they convince themselves and each other to heal, only time will tell.
Every time I think I have a favorite JIB book, she leaps over the bar and sends me reeling again. Janine, I don’t know how you do it but please, never stop.
Lydia from the moment she’s introduced in the book you can tell she feels broken and guarded, her actions show that immediately. I love Lydia’s habit of when she talks out loud without realising it and that she gets a response from whoever she is with. We got so much character development throughout the novel with Lydia and with Bash and Chaz by her side it helped.
Bash I love him, he’s so funny. He was so smooth and he did not give up when it came to Lydia. You could really see how much he loved his mum and was still grieving over her. When he met Chaz he wasn’t even bothered and just accepted he was gay and a drag Queen rather than making an issue with it. I loved the banter that Bash managed to have with everyone.
The tension between Bash and Lydia like that sexual tension at the beginning of this novel it was high. The fact they had already had the one night stand and their chemistry was there made the sexual tension even higher. I really liked Bash and Lydia’s relationship at no point did he force her to reveal about her past and was willing to be patient about it, but he was also willing to share about some of his scars. The bonding between the grief they had between Bash losing his mother and Lydia when she lost her grandmother. It was nice that they had a bit of bonding over it.
Chaz is the friend everyone needs. He is the most supportive person ever in this story and he is honestly a precious bean that needs protecting at all costs. He is gay and a drag queen and boy he works it well! I love his personality he’s so bubbly and although he has some issues with his mother he still is a bubbly person. I love how supportive he is of Lydia especially when it comes to Bash. I love that when he was in trouble he called Bash.
Riggs is hilarious, I love his friendship with Lydia and how he teases her but also how he is with Bash. I also made a really realisation that Riggs, Wolf and Pipe are all really big children. There is a scene where they are at dinner and one of Riggs children hit one of them in the balls and it was honestly hilarious.
Oh god this story is beautiful, I love Lydia confessing her love to Bash and that when she thought he was leaving she chased him. It was honestly perfect revelation and so them as a couple.
So I loved this story and I think my only thing was that it was really predictable like I guessed it was Lydia’s ex who was after her and messing with her. I kind of quickly guessed on that it was him although wherever there’s abusive partners involved 9 times out of 10 it’s always them. I’d say if you wanted to enter the MC world this would be a good first book to start with.
I really enjoyed this story, the characters and the plot. The story hooked me throughout and honestly I love these characters so much.
This is the book I’ve been waiting for. We got a taste of Lydia and Bash in Losing Bash by Khloe Wren. This book is had me on the edge of my seat the entire time I was reading it. I’m excited to read more from this new series.
