I enjoyed reading this book, the concept of a bunny shifter is funny as you usually don’t think of the fluffy cute little critters. This book would have been very well written if it wasn’t for all the editing issues, making it confusing in some spots.
Jared and Lara’s story is action-packed and suspenseful. I am looking forward to reading more about Thea and Raiden. I am going to love the Legends of Shadow Earth series.
a solid 3 – 3.5 out of 5 stars
Welcome to Jared’s world stuck between two worlds . After he signs up for a cancer test all things change . Stuck between the shadow world and the real world will he be able to save his love from the evil that wants him back .
The characters are written well but I wish there was a little bit more depth to them . Lara is a sweet girl who can’t swear . I really wish she would of sworn at least once . It would of done her a bit of good . She has a heart of gold but when it comes to saving her man she will fight to the end if she needs to . Jared is a bunny shifter , yes I said bunny shifter who is wanted by two different factions of the same organization. He is sweet and sexy and wants to make sure that he is needed . They are good characters and together they work pretty good .
I started this book and was confused at the beginning , I didn’t understand what was going on for a bit . Then it started to get good but alas not great . It seemed choppy at times and then there was some repetitiveness happing through out . There were other times it wasn’t totally clear on how something happened . There were times that the plot caught me totally off guard and I went wow now I get it . Over all I did enjoy reading this book , I mean never read about bunny shifters before. New one for me there . I would recommend this book for a fun beach read . So check it out
3/3.5 I would’ve rated it a solid 4 if not for the editing issues throughout the book that were jarring at times. I really enjoyed the concept. It was unique and very interesting so that was well done. The characters were enjoyable to read as well there were a couple awkward moments that didn’t quite flow but overall not bad. I’m definitely curious about the other characters to read more just hopefully it’s better edited.
this was a really great book! he is caught between to worlds. used by a bad man for his shifter dna. rescued and now living free. only the bad man wants him back. than she finds him and wants to help him. read to find out what happens.
Stephanie Kayne’s twist on the shifter romance is an interesting take.
The take on Real Earth and Shadow Earth is a little hard to grasp, but I did finally understand how it was suppose to be like a realm within a realm kind of thing.
I had two major issues that made me kind of cringe and took away some of the enjoyment in this book. The first, and I know we aren’t all English majors, but there were a lot of grammatical errors, missing words, repeated phrases or sentences that just continued throughout the book. My second issue with the book was Lara’s insecurities. This woman has come out of a relationship where her ex was trying to control her, yet I don’t honestly feel like she was living or moving past what happened. She seemed…stuck! She let people walk all over her and never really stood up for herself until someone just finally pushed her too far. When Jared was constantly complimenting her on how he thought she was a beauty, she would counter his compliments and call herself ‘basic’,’uninteresting’, and ‘boring’. I don’t really care to read about these kind of heroines.
Two years after being freed from the Alliance’s clutches, he’s been working with Elite Magical Protection Force to keep the peace between species as well as make sure paranormals uphold the laws. However, on the side, he’s been working on a way to take down the Alliance and ensure that what happened to him never happens to someone else.
When Jared gets a lead that the Alliance is once again attempting to build their shifter army he is preparing to go in and destroy the labs and techs by any means possible. However, Jared underestimates the Alliance’s want to have Jared back in their hands. With a traitor among the Elite he finds himself in a compromising position and relying on a human woman to care for him until he can reverse what was done to him.
