Ever since Ignacio left my life, I have found myself just going through the motions.I’m not pining for him.I just don’t feel the need to replace the love I still feel for him. Until Porfirio shows up. Tall, dark, and handsome, there is something so familiar about him.But like Ignacio, he only sees me as a poor, helpless princess. This time, I refuse to just let him slip from my life.He has … I refuse to just let him slip from my life.
He has changed me, and now I don’t know how to let him go.

This book is a very well written story in a series that welcomes you to the community, a group full of tenacious shifters and the ladies who fight beside them: This is a prequel to a whole new series: Shifters of Brigantia
These characters are well-fleshed out with depth and are detailed. This story will keep your attention and keep you wanting for more books from this Author. Must read. Porfirio is searching for Seers to train. He encounteres Halo just as she is being bothered by an unwelcome suitor. After sending the man on his way and meeting Halo’s brother King Havoc, Porfirio explains his purpose. As the training progresses, Halo grows into her powers and gains confidence. I liked the pace of this book and how the author sets about building her world.
I usually don’t like to read preludes, but this one read as a stand alone. No cliffhangers.
I enjoyed this short story as an introduction to this author and I look forward to the upcoming series.
The story line and character work were good. The book had a fairly smooth flow to it. This was a quick, fun read and a great start for a new series.
