Shifter Falls Academy is known for three things: great food, great teachers, and great scenery. Notice that I didn’t say great students because, well, it’s not exactly known for having great students. In fact, some of the students at my school would best be described as scum-of-the-Earth.Shifter Falls isn’t exactly a high school or a college. It’s something completely in-between. It’s a place … a place where people can learn to use their powers for good or for evil, and unfortunately, a lot of students choose to use those powers for evil.
I’ve been at Shifter Falls for an entire year when I realize that something about my Shifting on Command instructor seems a little…strange. He’s constantly looking over his shoulder like he’s being watched, and everything about him is really, ridiculously private.
What’s he hiding in the attic of the school?
And why is it so important to him that every single student learn to shift effortlessly without hesitation?
He knows something we don’t know, and I’m not going to stop until I find out what.
Author’s Note: Shifter Falls is an adventure academy story full of twists, turns, and a sprinkling of romance. Perfect for fans of Harry Potter and Hybrid Academy.

This is book two in the Shifter Falls Academy series and it’s just as good as book one! A paranormal academy read full of mystery, suspense and intrigue, there’s magic, drama, action and a little romance and a few great characters. The story is entertaining and all about friendship and finding family.
More action for Charlie in Year 2 and things start out a bit crazy. This time Charlie is ready for a fun year but runs into a mystery and a bit of danger and action. Entertaining and fun to read. Enjoyed Charlie and her friends more this time. And has a big surprise by the end too.
3.5 Stars

Our heroine has decided she rather likes the academy, but not necessarily most of the students. But she can sniff out a mystery and that is enough to get her full attention.
This is book two in this paranormal academy series. The story works well as a standalone as all the essential bits are presented up front.
The story is well written and easy to read following the basic “I just learned I am an X and need to learn how to control it fast” trope. That being said, I did not feel like I was reading the same old story once again. There are still new elements being introduced and the twists and turns in the plot kept me fully engaged in the story. I really like our heroine and how she continues to grow throughout the story. Overall, I thought this was a fun read and I look forward to the next book in the series.
Highly recommended

„Shifter Falls Academy. Year 2“ follows Charlie (Charlotte) into her sophomore year at the Academy. Charlie would be the first to tell you that it is a great place, with good teachers, wonderful views and excellent food… as for their fellow students, well… not so much. Nevertheless, Charlie has succeeded in finding the good ones and becoming friends with them: Jade, Kenneth, even her former landlady Fiona.
Right after coming back after the summer break, Charlie (it is her gift really ) runs into some secrets that are being hiding at school, noticing Mr. Harper (her instructor) strange behaviour, she decides to find out what it really going on . This time Charlie is prepared to deal with the situation, she has worked on controlling her powers, and have the backup of her friends. The mystery is nice and interesting and the relationship between the friends endearing.
This second installment is even interesting as the first, if a little bit shorter, letting room to explain some open questions, such as Fiona’s involvement in Charlie’s life in the next book.

Year two is getting started after the Summer break and everyone is returning. Charlie had stayed with her best friend and roommate Jade over the break, and when they arrived at school, Charlie’s boyfriend Kenneth, a kangaroo shifter, ran out to hug and kiss her, right in front of Jade’s father! Then the four of them had to battle to get the trunks to their dorm.
Yet it isn’t long before there is a mystery calling to her. Charlie had overheard a conversation about magical artifacts on campus, and Fiona had talked about some missing magical items. Her “Shifting on Command” instructor, Mr. Harper, has been acting strangely, looking over his shoulder, and hiding something in the attic of the school. His intense focus on having all the students learn to shift quickly with no hesitating implied that he knows something that the others do not. Charlie was curious and determined to find the answer. Could she?
I really enjoyed this story. It wasn’t the typical shifter story I was used to reading, and added some additional details that made it more interesting, such as the power of the blood to heal in a shifter who has their first shift later in life. The story line was good, the tension throughout kept the reader’s interest, and the characters were presented well. Grab your copy and enjoy this different look at the shifter world.
