What a good page turner! Ellie Masters sure does have a well-rounded ability to write different stories. This one sucked me in from the get go and left me reading as quickly as possible to find out Why? Why would a father give his only daughter to a complete stranger to clear his own debts?
Raven is a young recent MIT graduate with a degree in computers. As her and her friends are getting ready to go on a girls only trip, Raven is stopped by her father. Her life is forever changed that day.
Xavier is hot. He is a dominate who thrives on giving pain. He is a master to many. But the day that Raven becomes his possession, his life would never be the same.
I enjoyed this book a lot. To me though, the big reveal lacked the punch. It’s revealed and then dropped. I felt like there was so much more to the story that we as readers didn’t get. Aside from that, a good book to read!

I absolutely love love love this book!
A fast paced, full of intrigue, mystery and that touch of darkness, Ohhh My!!
Raven’s life is about turn upside down and inside out. What she thinks she knows is nowhere near the truth, and what she feels will scare her beyond words.
Initials become hated names, and one will make her question even herself.
I was so happy to see Forest in this story, I had wondered what he and Skye were up to!
The inclusion of them here leads me to believe I have more enjoyable reading ahead!!
Wonderful characters that have incredible stories to tell, Can’t wait to see what is next for this amazing group!
I loved Xavier’s dominance. He was an awesome character to read. I think Raven fights herself too much.

She’s Mine is a captivating dark romance. Ellie certainly knows how to take me on a ride filled with twists, turns and so many secrets. Get ready to be held captive by Xavier and Raven in this twisted tale.

Loved this book. Could not put it down.
There’s nothing more I can add to the blurb. It is dark and deep. Not once did I laugh out loud. The writing is superb. So descriptive. I want to visit the island and take in the beauty of it and the estate. I’m truly glad the Editor of this book advised me to read the Angel Fire Series prior to SHE’S MINE. I’m starting to see some puzzle pieces fall into place. Not the puzzle I would have selected, but the picture is becoming clearer. I can’t wait to read Embracing Fate and the one to follow! Especially since some names from the previous series are mentioned or come into play here. Author Ellie Masters has me as a captive audience!
Loved this story! Well written and the characters get you hooked and keep you in their world until the end.
Sexy, steamy and a page turner
Things aren’t always as they seem.
Wow, Xavier and Raven’s story is not your typical slave/master/kidnap tale. There are twists and turns and obvious truths if you pay attention to the details. No spoilers. I think this is going to be an interesting series. Look forward to the experience. Highly recommend. (the only reason I didn’t do 5 stars is, I feel like this was a “cliffhanger”. I hate that.)
5 stars just doesn’t seem enough to express how awesome this book was! I love dark romances and this one was one of the best I’ve read. It’s suspenseful and has that allure that draws you in to the master/slave lifestyle. I absolutely loved Raven. She wasn’t weak or bratty. I often find the heroine being those things in a position like herself but Raven was strong and determined. Very intelligent and ingenious with her computer skills. Being captured not only by an enemy but finding herself a prisoner to her own emotions. Xavier was just one of those people you couldn’t help but to swoon over even despite his rules and how Raven came to be in his control, but he could also be caring. It all just added to his appeal. He was structured and precise and I found that to be very sexy.
Overall I believe this book was fabulously thought out and written.
Suspense And Edge Of Your Seat Action Combine With Amazing Chemistry In This Dark Read! Great But Raven’s Indecisiveness Becomes Tiresome.
Raven Carson, twenty-one and the rich socialite daughter of Zane Carson, vows to be free. She hates her father because she craves the love he denies her. For eight years now, he has spent very little time with her. If she doesn’t need his money, his rules no longer apply. Hence her newly earned computer science degree from MIT is her ticket to freedom. Once she returns from her celebratory pub crawl across Europe with her girlfriends, she can choose to get a job and support herself, starting a new and independent life.
Stealing home after graduation just to grab her backpack, Raven expects to find an empty home. Instead she finds her sociopathic father and two very large men to whom he hands her over with very little fanfare. He explains that her mother had been a slave and it is her destiny, too. The time had come to send her to her new owner. Drugged, restrained, and hooded, Raven is transported to what appears to be a tropical island and presented to her mysterious master.
Master Xavier, early thirties, isn’t what Raven expects in her new owner. His custom suit and good looks are one thing, but he sears Raven with his captivating blue eyes which intensify as they hold her in a staring contest. A magnetic pull soon calms her, synching her breath with his and leaving her in a trance. While she believes she sees a hint of compassion in him, that idea is put to rest when he names her ‘slave.’ His superb self-control makes him dangerous, yet his staff of slaves is devoted and think highly of him.
Xavier and Raven are caught up in an intense attraction for one another from their first meeting. Raven ignites Xavier’s dark side, pushing him to lose control as a result of her smart mouth and disobedience. She resists submission. But the lust she sees in Xavier’s eyes arouses her, much to her dismay. She knows her master’s will will prevail, but she struggles with letting go. Oddly, he claims not to be the monster she believes him to be, and insists that despite his difficulty containing his desire for her, he will not take her until she wants him to. He sees his desire mirrored in her own, and tells her it will happen once she admits to her craving for submission. Xavier and Raven earn a simple HFN, but the storyline appears to carry on in the next book of the series and hopefully more is learned about them.
Suspense and edge of your seat action combine with amazing chemistry in this dark read. It is nicely written but ambitious, and could be tightened up in a few spots. In particular, Raven’s indecisiveness begins to sound whiney and becomes tiresome. This book is the first in the Captive Hearts series. It is written entreley in Raven’s POV. The plot is complex and well-developed. The suspense is maintained as the plot slowly unfolds. The characters are well-defined and likeable, to include several of the supporting characters. I rate this book four stars.
Embracing Fate by Ellie Masters is the First book in the Captive Hearts Series. This is the story of Xavier and Raven. Raven is a strong, smart young women who thought she would be starting her new life but then her father ends up ‘giving’ her away for his debits. Raven is taken by men a given to Xavier who is to be her Master. Xavier agreed to take Raven for the debits of her father and had plans for her but what he wasn’t counting on is the feelings she brings out in him. Raven too is taken back by her mixed emotions. This was a steamy dark read. This does give way to a HEA but it also sets us up for the next book too.
Super wow! This is the second book by Ellie Masters i have read and i just couldn’t put it down. I was intrigued from the first page.
I love Xavier. He is strong, dominant, understanding, loving and just overall perfect! I was drawn to him from the beginning and the twists and turns in the story just keep you on the edge of your seat and hoping things are not like they seem on the surface.
The other males that work with/for him are great too. I so want to know more about them.
Raven is seriously a great female and i love her many qualities. She learns things about herself that make her uncomfortable and also make her want to fight harder. She has lots of strong willed moments. Her relationship with all the boys is wonderful and i enjoyed how it developed throughout the story.
I now need to run and read more of Ellie’s work ASAP.
Loved this story. Loved Master Xavier. Raven could be frustrating, but overall she was a good character. The story includes a mystery, and for most of the time Raven can’t put the pieces together. Raven has a computer science degree from MIT. There is no reason she shouldn’t be able to figure it out. Hell, I figured it out pretty quickly and I have trouble solving Scooby Doo mysteries. So, as a reader I’m sure you can understand the urge to want to smack her upside the head. Still, it’s a really good book.
Very enjoyable erotic romance with surprisingly few sex scenes considering the subject matter of BDSM and human trafficking. Really good romance with great characters.
WOW.. Ellie Masters has written a wonderfully strong character in Raven. She must use her strength to keep her sanity when she ends up being owned by Xavier, a very powerful and mysterious man. The suspense killed me.. A page turner, stay up all night reading, my kind of book.

She was traded to him due to her father debts. He will use and abuse her but she has a plan. She wants revenge on them both but will she get it? See how she gets on

Ellie Masters is guilty of false advertising! She’s Mine—a Captive Romance was lauded as a fun, naughty, stand-alone book. That seems to be the case throughout more than half of the story. Then, in a plot twist so simple and so subtle that it requires a re-read, the link between Evil Xavier and one of the most beloved characters ever brought to readers is hermetically sealed.
She’s Mine is one of the most fun novels Ellie Masters has gifted us, to date. The novel’s premise, sex-trafficking, is harsh. The motivations of most of the main characters are dark and evil. From the earliest paragraphs, Xavier is the character to hate. That only lasts until Zane Carson graces the pages. Caught in the tempest is Raven Carson. If ever there were a damsel in distress, in need of immediate intervention by a Super Hero, it is Raven Carson. But not only does Raven not get a Hero, she instead, receives a virtual army of tormentors.
Slowly, painfully, we—and Raven– learn not all is as it seems. We realize she is not suffering Stockholm Syndrome, but many of her tormentors actually have redeeming qualities. One, in particular, worms his way into your heart without you noticing…until the final pages.
She’s Mine is essentially a very dark and naughty story. Just as the reader might hear internal questions beginning with “why do I think this scene is so…HOT!?” Completing the paragraph will reveal Raven asking herself the same question! This is definitely the most fun read of the year, and it is only March!
She’s Mine is not a book for every reader. The plot line is a series of events that could be triggers for some. Choose your reading materials carefully. Be kind to those whose choices do not reflect your own.
.
It was quite good read with challenges as the characters takes you through their challenges kept me entertained page after page as the story flows through.
Our heroine is taken and trained against her will. Does this break her, or turn her into something new?
This is a dark romance with some harsh elements that won’t work for a lot of people. And yet at the same time, there are some very interesting connections and real emotions evoked by the story. If you can accept the bad, the good is well worth the journey.
The story is very well written with well developed characters and situations. There are some interesting twists and turns as well which keep the reader guessing as you go along. I found myself getting drawn into the story and anxious to find out what came next. Your mileage may vary, but for me it was very enjoyable.
Highly recommended.
