These big “dogs” usually get what they want, but will their mates accept what they are under that fur? This set contains four books titled:
SERVICED: Ren’s forced to care for a blind woman who reads him like a book. Marby falls for the dog’s handler whose husky voice and wild, sexy scent enflame her.
GUARDED: Wade is stuck guarding the owner of an escort service. Jetta still carries scars from a dog attack and has given up on men — but she wants this one.
PROTECTED: Victoria buries herself in the kitchen of her restaurant to hide from the world. No longer able to fight her natural desires, she aches to give herself to him.
CONTROLLED: Elle Naylor’s caught his scent and can’t get it or Harm out of her mind. Strong and stubborn, Elle knows she’s found the one man who can make her life complete. Harm is an alpha in training who embraces his ability to be man or dog. Elle loves dogs! But will she love him when she finds out that’s exactly what he is?
*** Reviewing “SERVICED” ***
Ren Alsatian and his brothers, Max and Wade, were German shepherd shifters but not exactly like other paranormal creatures. They had a heightened sixth sense, great strength, sharper hearing and smell detection, and never grew tired when running. There were only a few packs but they traveled all over the world. The brothers owned and operated Shepherd’s Watch, an elite company that provided professional protection and guard dog services to the rich and famous. But as Ren joined them for the meeting, they told him there had been an accident with one of the rotties guarding Senator Gardner. He hugged a woman who dropped her purse and lost her balance bending down for it. She fell into the dog’s handler, and the dog attacked. The dogs neck was broken as the handler forced him off of the injured woman. Her being the senator’s niece he raised as a daughter made the situation even worse. Now she is blind, and the senator wants them to supply a guide dog and handler. They didn’t have time to train a new guide dog… and then he noticed them staring at HIM.
His loud protesting didn’t help. Max pointed out he could do both roles since she would not be able to see him shift between dog and handler. The senator’s contract was too important to risk losing. Whether he liked it or not, this was his new assignment.
Marguerite Pinkston (“Margy”) didn’t want a dog underfoot. A dog attack caused her to have a concussion and swelling around the optic nerves. But when the swelling went down, she was still blind. And she worked at a library! Max told her the dog’s name was “Shooby” and she heard a low growl come from him. When Ren got a chance to shift to human, he told her the dog’s name was “Sherpa” and Max was just being a jerk. He was very attracted to her and this job was going to be more difficult than he had imagined. He then told her he would teach her how to see through touch far more thoroughly than they did in therapy. Who would have thought gently sipping wine off a fingertip could be so intimate? He put her hands on his face and told her to “see” him as she traced his chin and lips gently. She visualized the high cheekbones and hair she felt, discovering the beard that had started. He described the color of his hair for her, and his eyes as she tried to visualize him. Not giving her a simple color, he described the color by comparing it to a food or something she would recognize. Then he picked her up and carried her to his room and he taught her how to “see” every inch of him. Would he be ready to let her go when this assignment was over? Would she fall in love with this gentle man who was encouraging her to see despite her darkness?
These stories are very sensual and the reader will understand what he is doing to help Margy. Does he also realize he’s falling hard for her as they interact? This is a fun box set as we see the brothers’ interactions. It lets the reader quickly see their personalities… much in the way Ren was helping Margy to “see” with his words. Grab your copy and enjoy! The author is a master of description and I never felt more focused than I did during their lessons!
