It’s February along the shores of Northern Lake Michigan. A heavy blanket of snow has been building up in the woods since early November and the inland lakes have had a solid covering of ice since December. I loved this book, can’t wait to read more in the series and from this author.
If you haven’t read a book by Aaron Stander, give this one a try. The author is a hidden gem of a writer,
I am currently reading all the books in this series. Great characters, interesting plot line, great descriptive writing and sufficient dialogue. I highly recommend this book.
This was one of the better who done its I’ve read this summer. Had an inkling who the culprit was but didn’t know for sure until close to the ending of the book. Good characters, good scenery, great plot with adequate twists.
Aaron Stander writes interested mysteries and I like the Ray Elkin character.
Always enjoy this author. His characters feel like old friends!
Not great. The dialogue was sometimes stilted. Just OK.
Enjoyed this book.
I was very interested in this book. I like when it captures your interest right away. I was hooked immediately.
You almost think that you actually know these rich characters
Only nitpick is the denoument, loose ends were not clearly finished altho the characters talked as if they were. Maybe a page was missing in my ebook.
Very much enjoyed this book and the very well developed characters. The setting was in an area of Michigan that we just traveled to recently and loved the descriptions of the scenery. Just slightly disappointed that the end was left open but suppose it will pick up in the next book in the series. I read this book for free and would read more of …
This was a fun read but the prose is a bit stiff. I did enjoy the story but it took a while to get going. Loved all the Michigan winter stuff, loved the winter kayaking. I thought it wrapped up way too fast.
Good story, but it the ending is very confusing and unsatisfying.
GREAT READ
I enjoyed it
Worth your time

A sheriff Ray is on his way to a home invasion out in a rural area on icy roads when a bigger rig comes out of nowhere and flips his car. And the action continued with a beaten woman, a stolen rig, another death, a missing …
