The New York Times bestselling author of This Is Love has the answer in this fun, sexy, and emotional romance about friendship, family, and giving love a chance.Something is off in Piper Dalton’s life, and she has a feeling it might just be her. Melissa Foster’s funniest book ever. That being said it still has all the hallmarks of a great romance; there are fantastic sigh-worthy kisses, steamy sex scenes and heart-wrenching moments as we follow Piper and Harley going from friends to lovers. Piper is a strong, feisty woman who is fiercely protective of her siblings and Harley is her best friend who want to convince her he can love her just as she is. Piper has a lot to overcome but Harley is there supporting and encouraging her at every step. It’s a small-town romance between friends destined to become lovers. While this a standalone romance; I believe reading the Sugar Lake and Harmony Pointe books by Melissa Foster will enhance the finer points of this story by giving you a look at all the Dalton (and almost-Dalton) siblings.
She Loves Me is a story with a little bit of twists and turns. I fell for our main characters Piper and Harley!! Harley is our big burly yummy of goodness! I wished I had a BFF like that, just saying! Now to nitty gritty. Piper makes it hard for Hurley to be open and honest for what they feel. That is the “fun” yet “frustrating” part of the story. Piper is damaged emotionally by her past. But the more she is around Harley, the more her walls came down. That was where the magic came through.
I have become a bigger fan of Melissa Foster since I branched out to her other worlds. Harmony Pointe is my go to place when I need to get lost from the crazy we live in right now. Dream a good dream <3
This book deserves 6 out of 5 stars, but unfortunately, the most I can give it is 5 stars. I loved this book! It is the story of Harley and Piper. It sort of is a friends to lovers romance, or more aptly, just took awhile to realise they were more than friends. Piper is a strong, assertive, woman working in a men’s world, construction. Harley is a sexy man that came home to manage his family’s bar when his dad gets sick. He has the biggest heart, and tons of patience as he works his web around Piper, but does so always thinking of her. I love his flirtatious comments. Then, there is Jiggs, Harley’s not so good wingdog, but a sweet addition. This book is a wonderful story with all the passion, humor, and love that you always expect when you read a book by Melissa Foster. The only thing though was that I really wanted to steal Harley away from Piper, but their love was too strong. I very highly recommend this book as your next read.
“No man had ever made her want to lower her guard before”.
Just when you think you have this HEA all figured out; Melissa Foster finds a way to throw us a well written curve ball packed with emotions our way and surprises us with this beautiful story ! Once again filled with deep emotions, wit, steamy love scenes and humour, I couldn’t help but to fall for her characters again. I loved Piper in all of her siblings previous books; her sassiness, though as a cookie and bullheaded personality. She’s a tough love building contractor, stubborn like no one else and hard with people around her but underneath her tough persona she’s a big hearted woman who loves and protects her family. She also protects her own heart against everything and no one is able to break her walls. She’s all about no strings attached. Harley is always looking out for his family and friends AND of course the biggest “cockblocker” around the corner when it comes to his beautiful mouthy friend Piper. He’s been having feelings for Piper for so long that what he made her see like friendship was so much more. I loved seeing how Piper evolves and how Harley makes her open her eyes to what she’s missing and helps her discover who she really is. I cannot wait to see what Melissa will come up with for Marshall and for Delaney stories…..hopefully soon!
Wow! Piper and Harley are amazing in this friends to lovers story! Piper doesn’t give in easy and her disappointment in men wanting to change her makes her going down harder because she has such a big wall around her heart and Harley is just the guy to stick with her and fight for her and for them. Besides the fact that he is as hot as sin, he’s patient he doesn’t want to change Piper. Oh and his dog Jiggs is so stinking cute! Harley wants Piper just as she is, work boots, tool belt and all. Piper is worried that Harley is just a big cuddly cub and what she finds out is he’s a “demanding, powerful bear of a man, and she freaking loved it.” He’s not into controlling her, he’s all for her taking control too. All this relationship stuff is so new and foreign to Piper that sometimes she makes things harder than they need to be and gets all wrapped up in her head for a bit. Harley is there waiting for her with persistence, love and with baby steps. There is just so much to love about this story!
Fans of Melissa Foster have watched Piper and Harley’s love story go from a friendship to simmer and here it finally explodes. The interaction between. Piper and Harley is fantastically real. In one setting you go from total disbelief over the words spoken to laugh out loud hilarity to frustration to end up at OMG, did all that really just happen. Melissa’s writing makes the story comer alive as if you were sitting right in the middle of it. Its About Time Piper and Harley figured out this thing called love
Harley and Pipers friends to lovers story was outstanding. I love Pipers spunkiness and her take charge attitude. She is so different from most heroines, she is not a girly girl by any means, but she loves with all her heart. Once you start this one it’s almost impossible to put down, it will make you laugh with the funny lines and the sexy banter between Harley and Piper. Harley works so hard to help Piper repair her heart and show her that she is well worth the love and sacrifice. I want a mad house like Pipers.
True friendship is a gift. Melissa Foster finds a way to weave together the complicated lives of her characters. The subtle connections to the other stories in the series keeps me coming back for more. Best friends know each other so well that every like and dislike is easily known by the other. Putting that information to good use when you are trying to romance your best friend has its advantages. Getting out of the friend zone is a challenge Harley feels is worth taking. Harley currently runs the family pub, while he still keeps his hand in investing. After his high stakes Wall Street job, he much prefers to manage his own funds and a few others portfolios more for fun than profit. Love, compassion, and friendship are all traits Piper and Harley share. Piper is not your ordinary small business owner. As a partner in her families construction company, she works side by side with men all day. Keeping a tough exterior blends into other aspects of her life. While she truly loves sports and a good beer, marriage is not something she sees for herself. There are many ups and downs in this relationship, but it is all worth it in the end.
One of my favorite reading genres is small town, large family, romances and this author nails it every single time. I loved Piper and Harley’s love story so much. This is the third book in the Harmony Pointe series and it was just as enjoyable reading about Harley and Piper as it was revisiting the rest of the characters from the previous two books. I knew I was going to love Piper’s story because I love strong, independent women and Piper takes it to another level! Harley is swoony, sweet and sexy and and brings out all the feels. It was so much fun reading how her grizzly man got her to move out of her own way to find her own HEA. Oh, and I absolutely adored Jiggs! Can’t wait to see what Melissa has in store for us next. I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC for NetGalley.
She Loves Me is a wonderful book that is full of fun flirty characters, hot romance and of course a little family drama. I have always loved sassy Piper, never afraid to lend a hand or stand up for anyone she loves. To see her fall head over hills for Harley was great. Harley who is as dedicated to his family and friends like Piper shows that he has patience. He has to since he has been in love with Piper Dalton for years and she has been to stubborn to realize it. Little by little Harley tears down the walls she has built around her heart and proves to her endlessly that he doesnt want her to change. When Piper finally realizes her feelings for Harley, their relationship blooms, in and out the the bedroom. Their chemistry is combustible. They make such a wonderful couple. As always I love each and every character in this series and it was fun seeing them again. What a fabulous story!
She Loves Me is an enjoyable friends to lovers story and Book 3 of the Harmony Pointe series by Melissa Foster. These stories stand perfectly fine on their own but the characters are intertwined throughout which means that if you are familiar with the other stories and their characters you get even more “what happens next” after the happily ever after!
Harley was an amazing character who knew what he wanted (Piper!) and wasn’t afraid to go for it. Piper, on the other hand, it took some time for me to warm up to her. She is a very no-nonsense, anti-love and anti-relationship kind of woman. I never wanted to shake some sense into a character as much as I wanted to Piper! Letting a failed high school relationship dictate your love life seemed a bit crazy to me!
This book was filled to the brim with drama, angst, laughs, romance and lots of heat! Overall a great addition to the series and I cannot wait to see what else the author has in store for Harmony Pointe.
Piper is not a girly girly like her sisters, she runs her family’s construction business, likes sports and hanging with the guys. Harley, owns the local bar, and has been waiting patiently for Piper (one of his best friends) to realize that he might just want something more. When Hayley hurts is ankle, Piper picks him and and helps him take care of his nieces. This was another great book in the Harmony Pointe series. I really enjoyed watching Piper accept that she could be in a relationship and not her to change who she is., in addition to seeing all of the Dalton’s again in a story. Definitely worth the read.
Harley takes care of everyone and has such a huge heart. He’s stood up for Piper for longer than she even knows and has tried for years to get her to agree to date him. Piper isn’t a conventional woman, she believes she isn’t like her sisters and that being committed or married isn’t for her and that she’s really bad at relationships. When Harley is hurt, it’s Piper that takes care of him and helps him care for his nieces. She slowly begins to notice Harley for more than just a beer drinking, sports watching friend. When she decides to try and take things further, it’s Harley that puts a stop to it. Not because he doesn’t want too, but because he needs Piper to trust him and realize he wants a real relationship with her. Thankfully, with Harley’s patience, as well as help and nudges from both families, Piper understands that he doesn’t want to change her, he just wants to love her. Such a fun, light book that keeps you turning pages to see what will happen next with these two! I received an ARC and am voluntarily leaving my review.
She Loves Me is the third book in the series. It can be read as a stand alone. Although I want to read the first two now. You will love Piper and Harley. Piper is strong, independent and runs a construction crew.crew. She is as tough as the guys she works with. Harley is the caring and protective friend who has been hiding his feelings for her for a while now. When Harley is injured and needs help caring for him and his nieces you find he is tired of waiting for her. When he starts to peruse Piper she thinks it’s the pain meds. But then she starts to see him differently. We also see why Piper is hard on the inside when it comes to love. Deep down she really is a softy. I love Harley who was so kind and patient with Piper. I loved how everyone knew before Piper that Harley loved her. They had great chemistry together and this book was a sweet and sexy read.
I’ve only read a couple of Melissa’s books. She is becoming a favorite of mine.
4.25 stars–SHE LOVES ME is the third instalment in Melissa Foster’s contemporary, adult HARMONY POINTE erotic romance series-a spin off form the author’s Sugar Lake series. This is former Wall Street investor /bar owner Harley Dutch, and construction worker Piper Dalton’s story line. SHE LOVES ME can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary.
Told from dual third person perspectives (Harley and Piper) SHE LOVES ME follows the best friends to lovers relationship between former Wall Street investor /bar owner Harley Dutch, and construction worker Piper Dalton. Harley Dutch has been secretly in love with his best friend Piper Dalton for as long as he can remember but Harley’s brother Marshall destroyed our heroine’s heart years before, and Piper has never been able to overcome the betrayal and hurt. When Harley gets injured at work, Piper finds herself looking after her best friend, along with his two young nieces, and the ice around her heart begins to slowly melt. What ensues is the building romance between Harley and Piper, and the potential fall-out as Piper refuses to commit to a happily ever after.
Harley Dutch knows Piper Dalton is the only woman he will ever love but convincing Piper she is worthy of his love takes patience and time. Piper doesn’t do relationships or commitment, and continues to struggle with one past heart break that destroyed her faith in forever and men.
The relationship between Harley and Piper is a best friends to lovers that is threatened by Piper’s inability to let go of the past. One heart breaking betrayal has controlled her future in that she refuses the possibility of marriage and family. Harley is flirty and playful, and his attraction to Piper is threatened by ghosts form the past. The $ex scenes are intimate and provocative. The sexual chemistry is palpable, without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.
Once again, there is a large ensemble cast of colorful and energetic secondary and supporting characters including several from the aforementioned Sugar Lake series, as well as Piper’s brother Ben and Aurelia (Call Her Mine #1), Mason and Remi (This is Love #2), Harley’s sister Delaney, and her daughters Sophie and Jolie: Piper’s sisters Talia, Willow (Zane), and the introduction of Harley’s brother Marshall.
SHE LOVES ME is a story of family, friendship, betrayal and love; of heart break and recovery; of love, loss, and acceptance. The premise is emotional and engaging; the romance is seductive and passionate; the characters are charismatic and dynamic. SHE LOVES ME is an encouraging and spirited look at family and friends.
Harley owns a bar and Piper runs a construction company. They’ve been friends a very long time, and it only a friendship….or is it? Piper got her heart broken by Marshall, Harley’s brother years ago and they’ve been best friends since. So, when Piper is asked by Harley’s sister to go pick him up from being released from the hospital, she runs right over.
Piper goes to pick up Harley and he’s making all kinds of advances towards her. She’s blaming it on the pain meds he’s taking. But, when he continues to do this “flirty” thing with her, her mind starts to have intimate thoughts about him. She tries to push those thoughts away, but they keep pushing their way to the front of her mind. When she’s asked to take care of him and his nieces, she knows she’s in trouble.
She’s the only sister in her family not in a relationship and she’s never cared, but, oh boy, is Harley stirring up emotions that she never knew she was capable of.
Harley has had feelings for Piper for a while. Although, he’s never acted on them he has no issues blocking guys from trying to get into her life. He’s excited when Piper takes care of him after his hospital release. Hopefully, she’ll come to his side and want more than friendship.
I loved this story and the characters were amazing!! There’s a good amount of words I’d use to describe this story and their relationship, but I’m afraid if I did, my review would be blocked!
Piper Dalton is the no nonsense, take control sibling of the Dalton family. She’s part owner of Dalton Contracting and loves her work. Harley Dutch has been her best friend for years, but he wants Piper to be his. She has walls up around her heart and is afraid that Harley will be like every other guy and try to chance who she is. He sets out to show her that he loves who she is. From perfect dates for the type of girl Piper is to hot and sexy between the sheets action, Harley is the perfect match for Piper. I loved their story and seeing what’s going on in their families. A great book!
Piper and Harley are great together, and Jiggs is the best! I’ve always loved Piper’s character, so I was super excited to read She Loves Me. I loved the entertaining banter & funny scenes that were woven into this emotional story, and the ending was perfect!
I voluntarily read and reviewed a complimentary Advance Reader Copy from NetGalley.
If you are a fan of friends-to-lovers in a small town setting, then She Loves Me is the perfect book for you! Piper Dalton works construction and her best friend in town is Harley Dutch, a local bartender. Piper and Harley have been flirting with each other for years, but never took the next step.
Piper has been hurt in the past, and she’s not willing to risk her heart in a serious relationship. Harley has had feelings for Piper forever and only wants her to see how much he cares for. When Harley gets into an accident and hurts his ankle, Piper has to help care for him as well as his nieces.
I loved how Piper and Harley slowly came around to each other. Their interactions were funny, sweet and sexy all at the same time. These two individuals care so much about each other, but each have their own hang ups that they have to get past.
Harley is gruff manly man on the outside but a total teddy bear on the outside. I admired how he always wanted to take care of everyone around him. Piper is a bit more prickly, but once you find out her back story it makes more sense. But when Harley wants more than Piper can give him, will their love be enough?
I enjoyed this sweet small town friends to lovers romance. Overall I would give She Loves Me 3.5 stars.
I received a complimentary copy of this book through the publisher and TastyBookPR.
Not my first read by the author, she is a top favorite one as a matter of fact. I also have read the other books in the series. I was little skeptical about this one, because it’s Piper the strong, tom-boy, self sufficient, funny and again STRONG heroine. Those tend to turn me off, sadly it did but only for a few pages, I knew the way MF writes heroines that they are the good kind of strong. So, I absolutely devoured the book after a few pages!.
I really loved them together. Their banter, easy going friendship and sizzling feeling they were both trying to deny for one another. Stolen moments is what this book is all about for me, it feels a little forbidden and new and exciting, I loved watching them dodge each other all while really wanting to explore. My heart melted with this one, when there is so much happening Piper *sigh* her big heart will make you fall in love with her from the bat and Harley, as much as a jokester he is, when he lets go…absolutely BEST BOOKBOYFRIEND. Everything about this book, and I know I’ve said this before about one of her books but this is how amazing she is…about every single book I’ve read by MF I have loved! This one is just special, beautiful, sweet, SWOONY, romantic, fun and sexy! Everything you’d want in a friends to romance book!
A MUST READ!
