Only problem is, Juliet’s completely focused on his seemingly perfect, good guy roommate.
Freshman year in Sheridan Hall becomes a whirlwind of new friends, challenges, and heartbreak. Through it all, Juliet and Chase lean on each other, and their friendship changes into something more. Oh my goodness! Writers and readers of love triangles take note. This emotional journey was a fantastic read and I have one, maybe two new bookboyfriends who are probably too young for me. Highly recommend!
She Laughs In Pink opens with a fantastic meet-cute that had me in love at first sight with both main characters. The sizzling chemistry continues to build from there through friendship, lust, and pain. This story is high on angst and drama and features a fabulously quirky supporting cast–all as 3D as the MCs–to balance it out with some college dorm fun. Looking forward to reading the next in this series.
This book is EVERYTHING.
Jessica Calla’s way with words pulled me in with an addictive passion at the first sentence of this book, keeping my heart and eyes glued to the story through the final word.
I fell hopelessly in love with her characters, her writing style, and the plot. I spent several nights awake until almost morning, telling myself I would just read just one more page, one more chapter…but, perfectly so, there was an amazing roller coaster that kept me craving and satiated at the same time! I literally could not stop reading this book!
This book is more than romance. It’s about grief, healing, love, strength, unity, and how to become who you are, who you’re meant to be no matter what haunts your past. This story is so deep, I felt exactly what Jessica’s characters described as though I was one of them experiencing the plot firsthand… and, oh my gosh, do I wish I was. The way she writes her men, the scenes of romance and promise, destroyed me and I couldn’t get enough.
I was really sad when it ended, but that’s because this was truly the perfect book! I’m in such a hangover from it that I can’t form the right words to express my gratitude for Jessica Calla writing this story, and tell her how she changed my bookish life with one train ride and arabesque. You NEED this story in your life!!
This entire book was one whole roller coaster of emotion, and you can’t help but sit along for the ride. At the start you kind of assume it’ll be a sweet and predictable college romance, but it evolves to be so much more. There’s an incredibly unique story with some interesting, almost on the verge of being fantastical, elements woven in as well. After all, how many people do you know who can “see” another person’s colors? Chase can sort of see the aura/personality of the lovely ballerina, Juliet, and when she laughs, she laughs in pink.
I had a lot of trouble putting this book down. You can’t help but wonder where all of our characters will end up, and the story goes in several different surprising and heart-wrenching directions that you just couldn’t have seen coming.
However, something that is extremely important to remember is that although our characters are remarkably endearing, they are far from perfect. They make mistakes. Sometimes they are emotionally broken. They can make stupid decisions that could possibly cause some readers a lot of confusion and frustration. This is especially true when it comes to Juliet as she struggles with her feelings for Ben, her best friend that she’s been pining after for years, and Chase, the young artist who sees the real her.
I guess I was lucky in that I was just always in a pretty good mood whenever I picked up my Kindle to read this one, so I never got too overwhelmingly frustrated. Instead, I personally enjoyed seeing the characters grow from bright-eyed and somewhat naive freshman, to an entire dorm floor that managed to become a family.
You need to go into this one with the expectation that there’s a 75% chance you’ll cry, and you’ll probably roll your eyes at some of the silly mistakes that all young college kids are bound to make. But if you stick with it, you’ll see the beautiful relationships that can bloom and evolve in Sheridan Hall.
She Laughs In Pink (Sheridan Hall #1) is absolutely beautiful & highly addictive! I love the cover & title which reflects the narrative perfectly. This is not your cookie cutter New Adult Romance that fits today’s format and genre. Told in dual pov which accentuates the tone & depth of the narrative. I absolutely love this writing style as it fits into the genre of New Adult Romance perfectly. The chemistry between Juliette & Chase is sultry as well as swoon worthy. The narrative revolves around a spiritual aspect with regards to your colour & aura that is highly intriguing. A novel brimming with colour between the dancing, painting, & vivid personalities all intertwined into different lives of people living at Sheridan Hall. With a set of supporting character’s of different cultures without stereotypical backgrounds that accentuate the narrative. I absolutely love all the character’s & their unrivaled personalities. A fast paced tear jerker novel that will capture your heart and soul, body + mind. I am in love with this series as well as it’s characters & cannot wait to devour more books in this stunning series. I highly recommend reading this novel as you will become addicted.
