*REVIEW*
She Laughs is written for people like me. The ones who take everything much too seriously, and let’s face it-never laugh. I love this book because it is a great little wake up call and reminder to be happy for goodness sake! The author writes with wit, charm and humor about things that everyone can relate to or imagine. A book such as this is uplifting and inspiring, and you can turn to it anytime you need a pick me up on one of those bad days. It’s a dose of positivity, and I highly recommend for everyone.
Carolanne discusses the many ways the devil can attempt to take our joy from us. From humiliation, to sorrow, fear, and anxiety, she shares life experiences with her comedian wit to help us see how to use laughter to recover more quickly.
I thoroughly enjoyed the story about a time she and her husband had a major tiff over something small. Marriage is often like that! Her reactions made me smile a lot.
Hearing her perspective on motherhood was also liberating.
She is very open and real about her life. We see laughter is not a cure all but is effective for banishing fear! Somethings take time and outside help.
I related to Carolanne Miljavac’s experiences and emotional responses! I’m sure all moms have reacted in an undignified way a time or two over certain ‘accidents’. Feelings of loneliness or just not fitting in are more commonly felt by women, I’ve observed, than we realize. We often feel like we are in the throws alone and no one understands. Yet as Carolanne reminds us in She Laughs, God cares deeply about our trials, large and small. He understands!
I laughed and cried as I read her book. It was very healing!
I hope you read She Laughs: Choosing Faith over Fear! I think you are going to like it.

Carolanne Miljavac has blown me away *again* with another fabulous book! I read an advanced copy back in November, but with the craziness of moving, I am just now able to get back to posting. Carolanne has a way of writing that strikes the heart (in a good way!). As I read through the book, I truly felt as if God was going to use this book in ways we cannot even imagine. I needed it at this point in my life when we’ve been faced with uncertainty about our future, and I’m sure if you don’t need it today, you will at some point in the future! As a side note – another way I know God is in it? We are going through a major move (1,000 miles) to do a church plant. It has been scary to say the least! When I walked into the bathroom at the new church, what did the previous occupants have on the wall? Proverbs 31:25! So, here I am taking pictures of bathroom walls. Thank you, Carolanne, for writing this book!
Funny, encouraging read of the author’s experiences. Only ten short chapters, this is a quick read. This would be a great gift for a friend who is facing a lot of struggles, as the author has had her share and yet still can laugh. Miljavac is a popular Facebook blogger and brings her trademark humor to this read.
I was an early reader, thanks to #Netgalley and the publisher. All opinions are my own.
This is my first experience reading a book by Carolanne Miljavac but it certainly won’t be my last. I found it to be both humorous and inspiring. She dealt with many issues that we face in life on an almost daily basis and offered some great insights into dealing with poverty, grief, brokenness, disaster, hopeless situations, and basic life struggles. I find that I quite agree with her philosophy of laughter…it has gotten me through many discouraging times in life. Laughter is like the pressure gauge when difficult times come. I highly recommend this book for its honesty on some of the most difficult issues we encounter, such as death and suicide, forgiveness even when it hurts, and gratitude even when we don’t think we have anything to be thankful for.

The little girl who came from humble beginnings and experienced a ‘Goodwill upbringing’ has chosen to choose faith over fear and to laugh. And it is her humor and ability to laugh that in turn makes all of us laugh. In her new book Carolanne Miljavac shares all of the times when she could have curled up in a ball and cried, but instead, turned to putting herself out there, becoming a class clown, and choosing to laugh. She shares all of this in She Laughs but oh, there is so much more! Your heart will break for that young girl who lived in poverty and you will cry when you read about the grief she suffered watching her six year old niece being treated for cancer. And it is in this chapter, She Breaks, that Miljavac admits that sometimes you just have to cry. ‘She laughs in the face of tears, knowing God works for the good in all of her fears.’ (p. 160) ‘She laughs, knowing when she’s had all she can take, He lifts her up when she breaks.’ (p. 161)
‘She is clothed with strength and dignity, and she laughs without fear of the future.’ This book will inspire you to seek that quality of the virtuous woman mentioned in Proverbs 31:25. She Laughs is funny, inspiring, and a book that I highly recommend!

I laughed. I cried. I held my breath and thought, “This woman knows how I have felt at times.” In an honest, heartfelt book, the author shares personal experiences of day to day life. The way she shares embarrassing stories, soul touching stories and more will truly stay with me forever. She chooses to live faith over fear and I am blessed to have read this book. She Laughs: Choosing Faith Over Fear. The title is accurate. The ten chapters in this book are full of her personal experiences, that are quite amazing. Usually a book can’t bring laughter out of me, but this one did!
There was much reflection as I read her stories, genuine truth about life and how she handled situations, not all done perfectly either. As I turned the pages, I felt a variety of emotions.
Well done, well written, good for women of all ages.

Oh, my goodness! This book is packed with wisdom gleaned from experiences we’ve all gone through. And, it had me laughing hysterically at some of the cringe-worthy events and the author’s retelling of them. If you deal with fears, and let’s face it, most of us do at one time or another, you will enjoy this book. You’ll relate with the author and find yourself laughing out loud, and wanting to share it with your friends.
