Shayn NaZade is looking for answers… psychic, but she didn’t see this one coming…
Orphaned as a child and raised by scientists, Naomi’s mind is opened to all the secrets of the universe. But she can’t see the lies and betrayals standing right in front of her, and when experiments to control her powers take a dark turn she knows she’ll have to run. It’s just her luck that her instincts push her towards a charming blue alien.
A dangerous escape, a daring rescue, and scorching heat send Shayn and Naomi tumbling together as the denya bond ties them ever closer. But when the forces against them get too close, that bond will be tested to the breaking point.
Read Shayn today for fated mates, a heart-melting hero, and adventures that are out of this world!
Shayn is the seventh book in the Mated to the Alien series about a race of aliens doomed to die if they don’t meet their fated mates. The series can be read in any order and there are no cliffhangers!

This is the 2nd book I’ve read written by Kate Rudolph; she has done a great job at writing a good book; I can’t wait to read more of her books.
The story line caught my attention at the very beginning and kept me interested throughout the entire book.

A good quick read. I enjoy the series as a whole as well as deyten warriors. I did score down because there was more sex than I like. Regardless I enjoy these stories.

Another great story about the Detyens. Shayn is a pretty down to earth guy until he meets Naomi who he identifies as his fated mate. She feels it also and recognizes him as the male from one of her visions. The two characters are exceptionally good together which helps them face the dangers that face them when she escapes from the Oscavians. There is plenty of adult activity and a small amount of violence. This is a well written and fast paced book. I enjoyed reading it.

Fan Read
Well worth reading!
Impossible two.
Shayn is of mixed alien races. With a certain cross to bear looming over him.
Naomi is a human living on Oscavia. She’s a psychic and she’s seeing visions of them together.
Is she Shayn’s Denya?
I’m coming in late to a series with the world building already built but could jump right in. I enjoyed.
Very fast paced.
4.5
This is the story of Shayn and how he meets his denya and what he had to do and overcome to get a happy ever after. It was fun and entertaining to read. Classic Detyen story of finding his denya but with a good twist. I loved the scenes and Shayn and his brothers were a blast. I also love to hate the Oscavians as a whole. Just a blast full of action and the ridiculous. Laughed through most of it. Loved the characters and plot as expected form this great series.
Shayn
By Kate Rudolph
The heroine of the book is Naomi, a young woman living at the Sola Corp compound on Oscavia, a planet on the edge of the empire. Naomi’s parents were both killed when she was 12 and she was left alone, the only human among the purple hued Oscavians. Humans were considered to be exotic on this side of the galaxy, so Dr. Morgyn Pitner took Naomi under her wing and had her living on the Sola Corp compound where she was tested and experimental surgeries were performed, generally on her her brain, in an attempt to improve and refine the visions.
The hero is Shayn NaZade, a Detyen, which means he’s a tall humanoid with blue skin. Detya, the home planet, had been destroyed about 100 years earlier. No one knew who had perpetrated the crime or why, but one day the planet had gone up in flames and billions of people had died. The only survivors were those close enough to ships to escape or those who had been off planet at the time. Shayn was a hybrid between his father’s full Detyen blood and his mother’s full Oscavian blood. Full blooded Detyens must meet and join with their fated mate, called a denya, before their 30th birthday or they will die. Shayn’s father, who loved his Oscavian wife dearly, died on his 30th birthday because they weren’t fated mates. Since he wasn’t a full blood Detyen, Shayn, at 28 years old, has decided to turn himself over to Dr. Morgyn Pitner and the other scientists at Sola Corp to see if they can help determine if he will die if he hasn’t found his denya by the time he turns 30.
As Dr. Pitner shows Shayn around the compound, she leaves him to make a call. On his own, he lets his feet guide him where they will and that’s when he saw Naomi walking toward him. He knew immediately that she was his denya.
Now that Shayn has found his denya, does he really need to stay and let the Sola Corp run tests on him? And how does Naomi feel, knowing that he thinks she’s his denya? Does she reciprocate his feelings? If so, how does she get away from Dr. Pitner and the Sola Corp? This is a fun and exciting book that explores these and other questions. And since there are other books in this series (you don’t have to read them first) there are bound to be other situations that will be just as much fun to explore. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and look forward to reading other works by Ms. Rudolph.

This is the story of Naomi and Shayn. He is in search of answers to the biological time bomb that he and his brothers may be under. While searching he finds Naomi who is the answer to his needs, but he needs to get her away from the Corp that is using her for testing. I enjoyed this action packed, suspenseful, steamy romance. I received an arc of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Shayn NaZade, like his brothers, is half Detyen / half Oscavian. He is not sure if being only half-Detyen makes him susceptible to the Detyen fate where if he hasn’t found his denya (mate) by his 30th birthday, he will die or have to become soulless. So he goes to a research facility on Oscavia to find out if they know. He meets Naomi Beck, a psychic who was orphaned and taken to the facility for continual testing and experimenting on her abilities for almost 15 years. Strangely, she never saw how the scientists there controlled her life and used her for their own gain. But Naomi has some disturbing visions of herself and Shayn and recognizes they are in danger and must leave. Shayn is aware that he has found his denya and now must keep her safe!
When Naomi is captured again, Shayn and his brothers will do anything to save her. But will the scientists ever let go of her? The story line’s suspense never lets up and keeps the reader fully invested. The characters were very likable and protective of each other. This is another fantastic book in this series that I am so pleased to have read!
This was just an OK read for me. Shayn and Naomi seemed like very young characters and not particularly mature. Makes sense for Naomi, she’s been held captive and experimented on for 14 years. The book’s pace was slow at time which made it difficult to read. Yes, there was a bit of action, but a lot of these 2 characters stuck in their heads. I’ve only read one other book in this series and wanted to give it another try. Not sure if I’ll try a third.

Book seven of the Mated to the Alien series a well written story with a very good storyline once I started reading I was not putting the book down. Naomi a psychic, and Shayn NaZade’s story has suspense, drama, danger, experiments, twists, turns, and romance. I want to read the next book, this series just gets better with each new story. Shayne is half Detyen and half Oscavian and is unsure how that combination will affect the Detyen price. He goes to a research facility on Oscavian to let them do research on him to find out. He has younger twin brothers and wants to know what future they may have. He doesn’t want to or have his brothers to have to pay detyen price if he can help it. When he arrives at Sola Corp the research facility he meets his mate/denya. Naomi. Naomi has lived at Sola Corp for years and she has visions. She has never attempted to leave the place before and feels that the scientist are her family since she lost hers at a young age. When she meets Shayne she is drawn to him and doesn’t understand why. Together they flee facility and try to get to the space station that Shayne is from. Naomi is kidnapped and taken back to Sola Corp. Will she ever she Shayne again? Must read to find out.

For me this book was a bit of a bland predictable read. Maybe it was the pacing that made it seem like a long short read, I just felt meh about it.
Naomi has been under the “care” of Dr. Morgyn Pitner for 14 years. I use that term loosely as the majority of doctors in this series are really pretty scary callous SOB’s and this doctor is no different.
My take on Naomi is that she’s either very naïve, un-inquisitive, or just a touch stupid but never in the 14 years since she’s been under the doctor’s “care” has she said no to anything they have done to her. They have performed numerous tests and surgeries, her resistance is pretty much token a small push from them and she melts faster than cotton candy in water. She only gets a backbone and starts realizing things are not what they seem when she meets Shayn.
Shayn while 28y/o comes across at times as very immature. His interactions with his twin 24y/o brothers borders on 14y/o behavior, they end up in a pile on the floor as they wrestle around. When he realized that Naomi was his denya his worry for his other siblings did take a back seat. He was passive for a lot of the story and went along with what Naomi said, he did have his moments where he would exhibit some more aggressive traits but for the most part he was a bit bland.
Once Naomi and Shayn decide they no longer want to be under the care of Dr. Pitner they escape the facility and to say that they made some rookie mistakes would be mildly putting it. They pretty much had a trail of neon arrows pointing to where they were. Their recapture was predictably inevitable and so was what happened after. During the escape we get to meet Naomi’s AI a very interactive computer program. She is snarky and seems to have a lot of capabilities, however never in the 14 years of Naomi’s treatment did it hint to her that things may not be all that good at the facility. Just didn’t make sense in fact a lot of this story didn’t make sense.
While these two got intimate for me the heat was mild and page skippers to be honest. So while I didn’t dislike the book there wasn’t really much that stood out for me.
Shayn, is half Detyen/half Oscavian, he and his brother are looking for answers as most Detyen’s die when they reach 30 years of age. He goes to an Oscavian corporate research facility but before he finds answers he finds his mate, his denya. Naomi has been at that facility since she was orphaned years ago. She is a test lab rat so the corporation isn’t about to let her go. This is where Shayn shows you how devious, determined, and dedicated to get his mate out of that facility. His baby brother is there to back him up. Shayn fights, sneaks and schemes to get him and Naomi to freedom and to safety. Another great story by Kate Rudolph and Starr Huntress. Highly recommend this series. Next book please. I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Very exciting story. Naomi and Shayn found one another, now they just need to get away safely to find paradise. Well their own paradise. A lot of running to stay safe. But I am sure it is worth the trouble. Excellent story. I received a complimentary review copy of the book and I am voluntarily leaving a honest review.
Mated to the Alien
Shayn, who is half Detyen And half Oscavian volunteers to be a research test subject at an Oscavian lab. Not long after arriving he sees Naomi, a human test subject who also happens to be his denya. When they discover that the Oscavian’s are up to no good they make a run for it only to discover that being a volunteer doesn’t mean that they’ll let you leave…

The book drew me right into the story line, immediately. It’s easy to read and the characters are well developed by the author. The story is believable, also. I highly recommend this book! I can’t wait to read more!!!!

This is a fast moving, action packed story from the start. Naomi has been the subject of experiments carried out by doctors for years to try and get her to have visions. She meets Shayn who knows instantly that she is his fated mate. She realises that all is not above board with the experiments, her relationship with Shayn has picked up a pace and they decide to escape. A well written book with lots of twists and turns. Well worth reading.

I seem to do this quite often this is my first time reading anything from this series and I can say from experience it can be read as a stand-alone though it did leave me curious about the previous books.
I found Shayn to be a somewhat docile(?) male lead. Oh, he has the Alpha gene when it comes to his denya and he has a secret weapon to back up his growl. But at times he seemed a bit complacent? Not even sure if that’s the right descriptor. He is the caregiver, the careful one and it showed in his actions – most of the time .
Naomi compliments his personality well. He knew she had the gift of sight so following her suggestions was never something he second-guessed.
They just clicked
Naomi was a bit more complex as she was raised to believe that she was helping that her sacrifices were for the greater good. In my opinion, those experiences are what provided her with such a strong sense of acceptance when things began to implode.
The flow of the story is pretty steady a couple “OMG No” moments and some very tender scenes between our two main characters.
However, I’m very curious about what happened to the organization –
I want to know more about the hows and whys of Naomi’s childhood.
I’m also really curious about the other ‘patients’
Also, what did they do to Naomi?
What does AI know that she’s not telling? I loved her snark.
I didn’t get all my answers but I did enjoy the journey and am looking forward to the next in this series as it stays with this cast.
