Emily Stone, an internationally successful model on the brink of supermodel stardom, appears to have it all. All, except love, because Emily wants the kind of man who isn’t fooled by the pretty. She wants the kind of love that’s big enough and true enough to include her disabled sister and dysfunctional mother. Nick was an A-list actor in tinsel town with a super-sized ego until a tragic car … tragic car accident stole his wife, his unborn child, and his gilded career, leaving him physically and emotionally scarred.
When wintry French Island brings these two wayward souls home, shared childhood memories aren’t enough to bridge the deep divide forged by their adult lives and choices.
That is until Carmie, Emily’s delightful Down Syndrome sister, weaves her special kind of magic. Can Carmie’s boundless love and infectious joy help them to heal their broken hearts or will the glamour of Emily’s work-world whisk her away?

This is the 1st book in the Hearts of Glass series and it is truly a heart wrenching story. This is Nick and Emily’s story, oh and add in Carmie (she will steal your heart!) The characters were well-developed and endearing. This is an heartfelt story that you wont be able to put down.

This was a well written story about two characters that are broken but in different ways. Nick is a man who has lost everything in life and suffers from that loss daily. Emily’s dad walked out when she was young because of her sister with Down syndrome so she has learned to not become attached to people. Nick is amazing with her sister which brings healing to his suffering and shows Emily that people can be depended on. This book shows the progression of their healing and is a really sweet read.

This is the first book in the Hearts of Glass series and it is truly a captivating story. The characters were well-developed and endearing and it was easy to get caught up in their story. I loved Nick and Emily but I think Carmie totally stole the show. This is a sweet, emotional, and heartfelt story that should not be missed. Beautiful story and highly recommended!

This is the 1st book I’ve read written by Lexi Greene; she has done a great job at writing a good book; I can’t wait to read more of her books.
The story line caught my attention at the very beginning and kept me interested throughout the entire book.
I loved the characters.

Nick has it all and lost it and is scarred from the experience. Emily is a supermodel and has it all except love. Emily needs someone who will love her and look past the beauty because Emily needs someone who will not only love her but her Down Syndrome sister Carmie and dysfunctional mother. When they meet will it be enough? I really loved that this book also showed a more down to earth and to include her boundless energetic sister. I think more books should have Carmie’s in them. It was not just all glamour but also real life. Great story and wonderful characters. This is a must read.

It was beautiful story with great characters. Very fitting title. You can’t break the feelings.
The pain and suffering, wrong accusations and tenderness.
Love conquers all at the end, just have to believe. It’s good to lean on and love.

4 1/2 stars
I loved this story because it engaged my emotions. I was charmed by the sister, fell in love with the two main characters who weren’t perfect but rather perfectly flawed and found this story memorable. Nicely done.

I found this book to be a fascinating read. It was decisive and so well written with a heart warming, soul searing ending. Miss Greene writes an emotional and compulsory read. This story has the ability to induce feelings that you did not see coming. The profoundness the author invokes through her characters is not only spellbinding but remarkable in allowing the reader to delve further within her story. Each reader is drawn to these characters with and through the authors words. Even with the flaws of these characters they are bound together. It is visually written and makes it easy to fathom all the dimensions of each character. I loved this book and I actually will be reading more from this author.

It was so easy to get lost in the characters of this book. The way that their lives are portrayed really hits your heart and lets you understand them. I loved Carmie‘s character and her role in this book. I think that I was drawn to her the most as I have family members with Down’s and I understand how special they can make a family. Well done Lexi!

This is a story that will make you cry. I just loved the way this story was resolved. It was deeply emotional and satisfying.
If you’re looking for an emotional read with the support act an utterly engaging young girl with Down’s Syndrome, this is fantastic.
The hero is a sexy landowner with a lot of baggage – who’s made lots of mistakes but that just makes him more intriguing and redeemable – and the heroine is a beautiful model with a secret.
This book made me cry. (At the end, though, they were good tears. I love books like that.)
