The first time I saw Skull, he was standing atop a speeding motorcycle. The second time, he was putting his fist through my brother’s face. Now he’s everywhere I look. He’s making my life hell with his vulgar remarks and seductive lure, but it’s not my fault my brother joined The Border Lords, his rival crew. I keep my nose out of their business and my head in the books, yet he’s always there … provoking me. Dragging me into their conflict.Everyone in town knows you don’t mess with the Sons of Sinister, but no one ever told me what do when a Son of Sinister messes with me.

This is the 1st on a new series and is Aiken / Skull and Everly’s story. This is a well written dark and unpredictable story which is not for the feint-at-heart, and is filled with drama, angst, danger and violence which all lead to a steamy read. I was totally captivated throughout this addictive page turner, and I cannot wait to read more in this awesome series.
4 Stars
Shattered Skull is the first title in the Sons of Sinister series, and it’s not your typical MC romance. Whilst it features motorcycles they are designed for looks and speed.
This title resonated with me, as I’m sure it will for anyone who suffers from anxiety and understands just how debilitating it can be.
Everly is innocent and kind of naïve. She’s looking to belong and desperate for love. Despite her anxiety, she’s a survivor and incredibly resilient and strong.
Aiken is a complex character. Whilst quite protective and loyal he could also be quite dismissive at times and his hot and cold attitude became a tad frustrating for me.
Overall this title is an angst, emotional and steamy read full of drama, danger and violence. The side characters were interesting and I look forward to seeing more of them in future additions to the series.
I am absolutely in love with this book and so excited for more to come. Aiken and Everly have a story that is packed with the feels and I loved the angst and fight between the two of them at the beginning. My heart truly broke for Everly and how lost she was and how invisible she felt. Aiken’s transformation was a delight to read about. The author wrote a story that was incredibly easy to read, characters that were so easy to connect to and went so quickly
I truly could not put this down once I started and need more from this series.
Aiken/Skull is a bad boy with a heart of gold and is very protective over Everly. Everly is shy, sweet and innocent, also she can’t seem to stay away from the bad boy. Slow burn, MC, sexy bad boys and great story. Loving all the characters too. Can’t wait to read the rest of this series. Highly recommended.
Everly is grieving over her father and being forced to go live with her mess of a mother and brother. She doesn’t fit in with the new school but does become friends with a girl hooked up with the mc. She meets Aiken “Skull” Cross at a race and catches his eye. Aiken is a bad boy and bullies Everly relentlessly through the book. He has his own past and problems. The wrong assumptions he makes about Everly come to light and things change between them. A slow burn but hot new adult mc read.
The first book in a new series from Tabatha Vargo and after reading this I am so excited for more
I loved it, I loved the angst, the characters, the plot, the unpredictability. Shattered Skull is a definite must read for any reader who loves a bad boy that rescues a fragile heroine.
Shattered SKULL does have scenes of attempted rape, so it’s not for the fainthearted, however, I am used to a darker kind of stories and plots being a lover of MC reads and Shattered SKULL was a nice change from the usual MC kind of read. A new generation of biker gang, a whole lotta hotness!!
My heart hurt for Everly, a young eighteen year old woman who has recently lost her father, following her fathers death she then has to move to a new town to live with a selfish mother and brother both of which are never home and she then has to start a new school, Everly also suffers from anxiety so that in itself is a big thing for her.
When Everly and Aiken first meet its at an illegal biker kind of racing track which takes place every weekend. Instant attraction, instant curiosity, Instant chemistry. I cannot think of a more suitable guy to be drawn to Every than Aiken who was protective and caring despite his bad boy way of life.
So excited to read more in this series, I am so glad it is not a standalone and there is more to come from the other guys in the biker gang and I will be looking forward to reading more in this series from Tabatha Vargo.
This is my first time reading anything form this author, and I wasn’t disappointed, this was an emotional read. it was well written, the characters had great chemistry, kept me engaged, and I enjoyed this entire book. This is the first book in the Sons of Sinister series, and the story of Skull, and Everly. Everly has been through a difficult life, and when she meets Skull her warn her away, but soon the attraction is too mush too fight, can these two help to heal the other damaged past? This was intense, raw, gritty, passionate, action-packed, dramatic, and sreamy. I can’t wait to read the next book.
Sons of Anarchy has nothing on the bad boys and bikers known as Sons of Sinister.
Shattered Skull is book one in the Sons of Sinister series by Tabatha Vargo and it”s a page turner. The main characters are Aiken “Skull” Cross and Everly.
When tragedy strike Everly is uprooted from the life she knew and moved across the country to live with her mother and brother who are up to no good. A chance encounter brings her to the attention of the badass biker boy and Sons of Sinister member, Aiken “Skull”. He knows that she doesn’t belong in his world, but he just can’t stay away.
Aiken is no prince, often being cruel to Everly and making assumptions about her, until the truth is revealed. His imperfections and mistakes throughout the books made more realistic and believable as a character.
A heart touching story, sensitive narration and shocking twists and turns making it a shocking storyline.
*** I voluntarily read and review an Advance Reader Copy of this book provided by Enticing Journey Book Promotions and Tabatha Vargo. ***
This is my first Tabatha Vargo book, but it will not be my last. And I have to say I need the other books in the Sons of Sinister series now! I love MC romances and jump at the chance to read them. And Shattered Skull did not disappoint me!
Aiken and Everly were absolutely amazing to read. The push, pull of their relationship, and Aiken’s struggle with his feelings had me wanting to scream in frustration. One minute he was on top of her and the next he was shoving her away. He didn’t believe he was good enough for her, the drug dealing, MC member. Their chemistry is off the charts from the very start, even if it’s a little wrong as well.
Everly, the high school senior that has seen more pain and hurt than she should have. She’s been paying for the mistakes of her mother and still is. She believes no one will ever pick her because her life has shown no one will pick her.
Tabatha Vargo hit every emotion I have. I absolutely loved Everly and maybe that’s why my emotions hit the way they did. I wanted to jump through my kindle a few times and throat punch not only Skull but a few others.
Vargo has me hooked and I cannot wait for the other books in this series! I need to see Saint brought to his knees by a woman!
I received a copy of this book from the publisher/author to review for Stephanie’s Book Reports.
The first time I saw Aiken Cross aka Skill, he was standing atop a speeding motorcycle. The second time, He was putting his first through my brother’s face. Now he is everywhere I look. He is making my life miserable wit his vulgar remarks and seductive lure, but it’s not my fault my brother joined The Border Lords, his rival crew. I keep my nose out of their business and my head in the books, yet he’s always there provoking me. Dragging me into their conflict. Everyone in town knows you don’t mess with the Sons of Sinister, be no one ever told me what to do when a Son of Sinister messes with me.
I’ve not read a good MC book in a good while and this on has me already wanting to see the next on in this series. Shattered Skull is the first book in the Sons of Sinister. But, don’t worry it is a compete story. Your going to love the world of the Sons of Sinister. These are not your typical bikers. They don’t read big bad Harley’s they are a sports bike riding crew. They sure don’t care to cause a lot of commotion and chaos filled mayhem. This is the story of Aiken or Skill and Every. Every is a girl trying to deal with her father’s death and living with a mother that is horrible and she had to move halfway across the county and knows no one. My heart broke for you. She will start making friends and the first one somehow in with The Son’f of Sinister MC and it isn’t long at the races that she sees Skull and her. A real true life bad boy.
This is about all of the story I am going to go and tell you. I don’t want to give the story away. I will tell you that I fell in love with these two and I will tell you that you do not want to miss this book. I loved it.
Shattered Skull was unlike anything that I thought it would be and I’m 150% here for it! This book was refreshingly unique… and from beginning to end I was hooked on all things Sons of Sinister!
Everly… Your heart will break for her; between her home life, her devastating personal loss and her struggles with anxiety… this girl is having a rough go at life. However, her silent strength… her unwillingness to give up; you’ll definitely be rooting for her! And Aiken… you may or may not want to junk punch him a time or two… this man is stubborn! His quiet broodiness, alpha tendencies, his hopes and dreams for a different future and his loyalty; you won’t be able to help but fall in love with him. These two GAH!
This book ya’ll
All the angsty goodness
All the push & pull
One undeniable/unavoidable connection
All the drama/action & suspense
All the slow burn
I could literally go on and on about Shattered Skull because it was just that good! && I am officially obsessed with this new book world.. I cannot wait to see what’s next for the Sons of Sinister

“I wanted her trust-her smiles-her heat. But I knew if I took those things from her, I would leave her broken and as hollow as me.”
Skull was fire and his hard edged, sexy, broodiness got me right where it counts from the first second we meet him. I had no idea if this couple would get together, but their chemistry was completely intoxicating. The Sons each held a mystique about them, and I cannot wait to read each of their stories, I kept thinking this needs to be a movie!! I loved this sexy, hot as hades, gritty, raw, and real escape that I desperately needed!! I thank the Author for providing a copy to review!!

Shattered Skull by Tabatha Vargo was a fiery, heartfelt and very emotional MC Romance. It has the right edge of danger and twisted darkness that mixed with an angsty love story brilliantly. The writing is spellbinding and I couldn’t stop reading as if my life depends on it!
Everly has been uprooted from her simple and secure life with her father after his untimely death. She has been forced by her mother to move to her grandparents’ old house in Atlanta. New school. New life. Absent brother who is mixed in some terrifying things like drug dealing and MC Gangs. Absent mother who cares more for her young lover. Her already disabling anxiety. So Sons of Sinister is not something she should be attracted to or associated with. But from time to time fate made her paths collide with Aiken Cross aka the Skull. Will this bad boy biker be her saving grace? Can Aiken really fall for someone innocent and sweet like Everly?
My heart is breaking so badly for Everly. This adorable and pure girl has been hit from every side. But she still moves on and keeps on pushing to survive. She may be a shy, scared and anxious girl but she never let anyone hurt her without fighting savagely. This soft underlying strength is her biggest asset and beauty. She cries, she breaks and she suffers. But she still loves and cares and thrives. Aiken may appear as the typical arrogant, cold, heartless and ruthless MC guy from the other side of the tracks. But behind his hard exterior, there is a guy who can care and protect and cherish like no one else. And Everly ignited something in his dark life. He is trying very hard to give her and himself a happy and safe future. Even when he gets violent and explosive, that possessiveness is a big turn on. Their chemistry was built up so slowly because Everly has been wounded and abandoned by her own people so many times and Aiken didn’t want to hurt her by moving too fast. But the truth is Everly needed his rough and insane side too. Like he needed her light for redemption. The storyline is tightly knit and the twists came at the right moments to keep me hooked till the end.
The emotions in Shattered Skull by Tabatha Vargon is messy, chaotic and fierce. The chemistry is scintillating and goes so much deeper than the physical intimacy. The powerful and flawless writing wrapped up the intriguing story beautifully.

Holy crap! This story is so good and totally my new favourite Tabatha Vargo book!
The evolving relationship between Everly and Aiken, a.k.a. “Skull”, is incredibly well written. You can really feel both the character’s emotions and follow their storyline without issue. The story has a fantastic flow to it. The reader is easily able to get lost in Vargo’s storytelling and I, for one, absolutely could not put the story down.
I can’t wait to get my hands on the next book in the “Sons of Sinister” series!
I wasn’t sure what I expected when I picked this one up
I was thinking it would be a bit of bully blended with the gruff MC
What Vargo delivered though was something unique and different
Sons of Sinister is not your normal motorcycle club –
They are street racers –
Drug runners –
Brothers –
Doing what they need to do to survive
Everly has had her world turned completely on its axis.
What was once a life filled with laughter, love and acceptance is now nothing but Moments –
Moments of loss
Moments of loneliness
Moments spent counting
Counting down the minutes just to survive
Aiken (Skull) was raised by the streets
He knows what it takes to win
How to grab what he wants
He doesn’t do forever’s
He has seen how they end – too messy
That is until a sweet little cherry drops from the tree and right into his path
She is innocence personified
She doesn’t belong in this world
And she definitely doesn’t belong in his bed
I have to say I was a goner for Skull
I can’t pinpoint what it was about him but he was so much more than just your every book alphahole
And Everly?
She was young but life had already granted her so many lessons. Some were good ones others left a darker scar, a reminder, reasons to fight – to believe – even when it seemed that she was standing alone.
I really enjoyed the slow build relationship between these two. It wasn’t lacking heat in any way.
From the beginning, the pull was there.
Aiken was so honest yet responsible (?) about how he felt. And the way he tried to subtly at first care for Everly was … Sigh
If you are looking for something that is a bit different but has all the feels and the drama look no further
A solid five-star cast!
Built on a strong series plot with engaging character story lines that will pull you in an make you a believer look no further!
I can not wait to see where Vargo takes us
Trust me it’s worth trading your money cup of coffee for
A thrilling ride through the world of Sons Of Sinister soaring to dizzying heights in the capable hands of Tabatha. The neon bikes zoom in trailing chaos and mayhem and leave you clutching to the tattered human beings . Heart touching story, Sensitive narration and shocking twists and turns make it a stunning story of travails and perseverance.
In the heart is an Invisible Girl, struggling to live alone, abandoned by death and neglected by Guardians.
“The smart girl. The guaranteed valedictorian. Erik’s little sister, even though I was two minutes older than him.”
An otherwise promising future, wallowing in dust and ruins. All she has for company is an urn and a sympathetic friend. She’s plagued by PTSD, panic attacks her constant companion till she hears a deafening roar of motorcycles that seem to temporarily drown out her own shivering, thumping heart.
Her intro to the Sons is violent and scary, but like Baby in a corner, she has no choice but to stand up and fight!!
“WHEN YOU’RE INVISIBLE LIKE I USED TO BE, people step right over you. They look through your soul, only seeing what’s on the other side of you. They don’t see your heart—your essence—your mind. They don’t care if you’re hurting or broken. They only see the wall behind you, dark and dripping with your shadow.”
And you know who sees an Invisible Girl……An Invisible Boy, who is hiding behind a helmet and a scarf. He’s a man with means that’ll justify the end goal.
“I was just another street rat, scarred on the outside and ruined on the inside—so mentally fucked-up, I was a dealer with blood on my knuckles and an empty heart.”
Her dormant spirit is noticed by a pair of glowing green eyes behind a skull scarf by Skull aka Aiken Cross and that’s cataclysmic for BOTH of them. Their paths converge and they ride together from here on..but Oh, what a bumpy, shaky ride they have on a road full of potholes, bumps and barriers at every turn.
“I was no longer invisible like I once was. Thanks to Aiken Cross, I no longer existed.”
It’s exhilarating & disheartening in the same breath. Dismal mood, yet hope is just a revving of the handlebars away. Gloomy and hopeless but hope is glowing in green eyes behind the scarf. I’ve always been a Tabatha Fan. She extracts emotions out of very stressful scenes. I bawled towards the end, it screws with your brain and heart at the same time
Pick up this book and hang on, lean with it and wear a helmet!!
4.5 stars for Cherry Girl Preserved by The Devil
Loved it! Vargo has a brilliant way with words. She makes you feel like you’re watching everything play out directly in front of your face like you could touch, taste, see and feel it all. Amazing! This story was great. A different spin on the MC trope and I devoured it. It’s not like any other I have read before. It was steamy, emotional and full of angst! Little taboo in there too! What’s not to love?! Seriously though, I can’t wait to read about the rest of the guys in this crew. They’re bad but in the best ways possible and completely addictive!
Sons of Sinister
Aiken/Skull was a bad boy dealing with life outside of the law and Everly was a young woman who dealt with anxiety issues whose life had changed dramatically in such a short time.
Skull was “The Man” on the strip racing his neon green bike against any takers trying to put money aside so that someday he could open his own bike repair shop and go legit. Until that time came though he was a member of the Sons of Sinister who ran drugs and were not afraid to use their guns.
Everly’s life changed when her parents divorced and she went to live with her father while her twin lived with their mother. Her father loved and understood Everly so when he suddenly died Everly was forced to live with a mother who had also changed dramatically and moved her family to Atlanta. Now mom was shacking with a guy only a few years older than Everly and he was a man not to be trusted…especially where Everly was concerned.
As much as Aiken tried to push Everly away since he felt she was a good girl and shouldn’t get wrapped up in his world they were always drawn to one another. This story is full of push and pulls, heartbreak and survival. Although Shattered Skull wasn’t from the “traditional MC” world, I definitely will be picking up the rest of the books in the Sons of Sinister series which are soon to come. This was a winner for me.
Shattered Skull is book one in the Son of Sinister series by Tabatha Vargo and boy is it a page turning read. The story focuses on Aiken ‘Skull’ Cross and Everly. Everly is just coming to terms with her father’s death when she has been moved across the country to live with her aloof mother and brother who seems to be up to no good. Being new to school, she knows that she doesn’t fit in, not only due to her grief but also her anxiety and how she feels in general. We see her story develop as she makes friends with one of the girls at school who is also in with the Son’s of Sinister MC club; a club which doesn’t follow the rules, races bikes, fights and does other debaucherous things whilst trying to evade the police. One night when she is out watching the racing, she catches the eye of no other that Aiken ‘Skull’, a serious bad boy if there ever was one. Even though Everly doesn’t belong in his world, she keeps showing up and putting up with his acerbic tongue and ill-treatment. Aiken knows he can’t have her, but he just can’t stay away.
Aiken is one of those main characters that you love to hate as he is just so cruel to Everly and makes these huge assumptions about her throughout the story until he learns some home truths. I really liked that he wasn’t perfect and that he made these huge mistakes throughout the book which made him and his gang a more believable as characters.
This story has so many twists and turns. Not only do we have Everly and Aiken’s developing relationship, but we also have Everly’s mother and brother who just seem to cause devastation throughout the whole book. Everly’s mother…. OMG! if there was an instant dislike for a person, she would be it. Then you have the other side story’s such as Everly’s fathers death, the MC gang popping in and out of her story plus their own side story and what is going on with their MC, Aiken’s backstory as well as a whole heap of other things going on that by the end of the book you’re emotionally exhausted but in a good way.
This is certainly a slow burn to melting book, where yes, Everly might come across as naive, but she certainly wasn’t stupid and after everything she has endured, she was still a nice human being. Even the way Aiken goes out of his way to protect her borders on obsession but is really sweet at the same time. This is certainly a fast paced read and quite difference from another MC book where the MC doesn’t have a specific club but more a house where they stay in.
This definitely was an intriguing read and if it seems like you’ve waited forever for this book to come out…trust me it was worth it!

Aiken/Skull & Everly
She didn’t want to move from Seattle. Even with her panic attacks, she had some friends. Losing her father was devasting enough but moving to a new school made it a double loss. She didn’t get much help or understanding from her mother or twin brother. Finally, she made a friend who supported her. Taking her to street races seemed the last thing she could deal with. It wasn’t. It brought her to Skull/Aiken.
Aiken didn’t do relationships. He didn’t even do overnighters. So why was this shy girl getting under his skin? He had goals and he’d do whatever it took to reach those goals. No woman would get in the way.
Eventually, both of them give up fighting whatever should have kept them apart. Could they really get past their differences to make it together? Would their families become their enemies?
This is an amazing story of opposites finding love. The characters are layered I found myself hating then loving Aiden helping me understand how she fell for him. This is not to be missed. I am anxious to read the stories of the other Sons of Sinister.
