Every book is very well written. I look forward to every new book. Great characters build up.
Good read if you l8k3 Hawaii, which I do. Best to start with the first of the series. All entertaining
Simply never been disappointed by a Toby Neal book, Always enjoyable and always ready for the next book written by her,
Well, I tried this 2nd book by Toby Neal only to find out that the PROFANITY (especially taking God’s name in vain) & sexual situations were also present in this book. This is UNACCEPTABLE to me & I won’t be reading any more of Neal’s books.
If you love details describing a location (i.e. Hawaii) as well as the flora and fauna there (especially the birds), you’ll love this book.
Interesting story about the relentless, always one-step-behind career of investigators and officials.
Decent storyline. Well written. The romantic interludes in the story are a distraction and could have been avoided. All in all, a good read.
I love Toby Neal, Lei Texeria stories. The characters are so well developed, Ms. Neals’ skill with her writing makes them come to life. She illustrates so well the private lives and struggles with maintaining relationships and parenting while being neck deep in a dangerous investigation. I grab up the next Lei stories as quickly as they come …
Another great mystery in this series.
Great descriptions of Hawaii, one can picture the environment, especially if you’ve visited the islands before. Characters are quite well developed. I recommend the series, to follow the relationships and growth of the main characters, especially Ms/Agent/ officer Texeira.
I really enjoyed this series.
Disappoined! Lackluster story.
I love this series because l’ve learned so much about Hawaiian culture & the different lslands. This story subject is tragic from an environmental standpoint. The characters are appealing & they appear in Ms. Neal’s other series.
Toby Neil realistically writes about the daily decisions that shape the lives of Law Enforcement
I have read other books in this series and enjoyed them, as I was this one until (spoiler alert) Lei decided to postpone her wedding to stay on her case. Really? If I had been the groom I would have cut and run and stayed gone. After that I skimmed to the end of the book. It is all about priorities and this lady’s are need some adjustments.
A really good book set in paradise with great characters . The end isn’t the end!
I have yet to find a book by Toby Neal that I did not thoroughly enjoy. She is able to bring out the special attraction of Hawai’i, and this book also brings out the horror of poaching endangered species. Her characters are very real, and the story line has many twists and turns. I whole-heartedly recommend this book.
Shattered Palms – a review by Rosemary Kenny
Toby Neal’s Paradise Islands Crime Thriller Book 6, Shattered Palms, brings a veritable feast of thrills, spills, love and death on Maui’s volcanic paradise slopes.
Lei’s due to marry her fiancé Stevens in less than two weeks, yet she’s still to organise a wedding dress let alone anything else and her …
I enjoyed reading this book. Toby Neal writes great books. Didn’t like the main character as much due to the indecision which made it hard to follow the story as well as I wanted to. Over all it was still a good book.
This book was true to the rest of the series! Love the characters she has created and can’t wait to see what they will run into next. When you finish one, you can’t wait for the next release!
