Two people. Two heart-wrenching betrayals. Shattered, Book Two, Eternal Brethren Military Romantic Suspense SeriesTravis “Rock” Walker hasn’t looked back since disappearing from his family’s ranch to join the Navy. Nor does he feel any regret at leaving that life behind. All his time and energy on keeping the team safe while completing each mission assigned to the undercover motorcycle club, … motorcycle club, Eternal Brethren. If he has any regrets, it would be severing of a friendship with one very special woman.
Doctor Tessa Clark has suffered enough betrayal to last a lifetime. Her focus is firmly on her young son and thriving medical practice. A friendship with an outlaw biker, no matter how he touches her heart, does nothing for her standing in the community. Months later, after many lonely nights and long weekends, she wonders if tearing apart a valued friendship is worth the cost.
Extending a tentative olive branch not only brings their tenuous friendship back to life, but garners the attention of those who have a debt to settle with Rock and the Eternal Brethren. Men who don’t care about using a woman as a shield to achieve their goals.
As their friendship grows stronger, Rock must take a difficult look at the cost to not only their lives, but the heart he’s so doggedly guarded since his last night on the ranch. He may see himself as invincible, but falling for Tessa could strike a fatal blow. One he’s determined to avoid.
Can Rock ensure her safety from the terror surrounding them while keeping his heart closeted away, protected from the woman he refuses to love?
Shattered is book two in the Eternal Brethren Military Romantic Suspense Series by best seller Shirleen Davies. It is a stand-alone, full-length novel with no cliffhanger and a guaranteed HEA.
PLEASE NOTE: This series contains strong language common within the military. It is also a steamy romance with open door love scenes.

Riveting Read
Wow, another exciting read in this amazing series. This is one page- turner that you won’t be able to put down until the end. It had great characters and a seamless storyline. Rock and Tessa’s story is a riveting read full of intrigue, suspense and danger. I can’t wait to read the next book in this amazing series.
So good! Now I love this series even more. Rock and Tessa’s story is so action packed and full of great characters I could not put it down. Rock is such an interesting character, he is not what he portrays to the world. Tessa is a determined, loving mother just trying to do the best she can for her child. I enjoyed the way their story developed and twined around action and suspense.
Even though the decision to end her friendship with Rock was hers, when she runs into him she begins to realize how much she has missed being around him. So she decides to rekindle their friendship, not realizing that the more she is around him, she will become even more attached to him. As does her son Travis.
Rock had something happen in his past that is keeping him from getting into a relationship with any woman, but will being around Tessa and her son change his mind? Not to mention that the new President of the Night Devils lives a block away from Tessa, which brings out Rock’s protective side.

After reading Steadfast, the first book in this new series by Shirleen Davies, I knew I had to read Shattered as soon as I could. It certainly did not disappoint. There is action in this book from the moment you start reading and a huge dose of romance, too. What I like about Davies’ love scenes is that she gives just enough detail without making it too much. Very sexy, but not graphic. This second book revolves around Rock and Tessa and the conflicts they face. It also introduces a new character, Dani, who I expect we’ll be seeing around again later in the series.
The Eternal Brethren is an intriguing motorcycle club that operates under cover. The members are loyal, intelligent, and brave. I found myself enjoying the stories of their missions, since they are well thought out and seem realistic. This adds another layer of suspense to an already interesting story.
Shattered is the second entry in the Eternal Brethren series. It features Travis “Rock” Walker and Dr. Tessa Clark and is set about two years in the future from book one Steadfast. Although I feel the reading experience was enhanced because I read the first book, this book included enough background information to totally stand alone. Rock and Tessa already have an estranged friendship right from the beginning of the book and Tessa is wondering if she should give the enigmatic Rock a chance at love. Rock has experienced a family betrayal so devastating that he may never recover from it to love again. Tessa similarly has been betrayed by two people who were very close to her. This betrayal, along with her mistaken belief that Rock is a biker existing on the fringes of society who dabbles in illegal activities, prevents Tessa from pursuing a relationship. They tentatively decide to be friends with benefits, and the twists and turns that follow that decision along the way to their HEA were absolutely riveting. I could not put this book down! I thoroughly enjoyed it and cannot wait for the next installment, one I hope that will be followed by many many more.
I received an ARC of this book in exchange for my fair and unbiased review.
This is a second book in a new series for Ms Davies. I have enjoyed her previous books but this is quite a change of venue. The first one -Steadfast- was a pleasant surprise. But this one I believe is her best book yet. I can hardly wait for the next one -Haunted-
Rock and Tessa on the surface seem to be an ill matched pair. He’s posing as an outlaw biker and she’s the picture of the proper small town doctor. Its certainly not a match made in heaven, and yet, it could be. Ms Davies paints a riveting picture of an undercover SEAL team who will stop at nothing to protect the people they love. Both Rock and Tessa have shattered pasts to put behind them that are a real obstacle to finding love. There is plenty of action to go along with the tender love story making this a fun read.
A really great read. Shattered grabbed my attention from the beginning and I didn’t want to put the book down. I really enjoyed Tessa and Rock’s story.
I didn’t think it was possible but I loved Shattered even more than Steadfast. How could that be? These are terrific books with excellent stories. The characters are strong, daring and yet lovable. The women involved have such strength that it is amazing. Travis “Rock” Walker met his match when Tessa stepped into his life. Her two-year old son added to the story-line and I loved it. This book has mystery, military-like tactics and heated romance. The sensual scenes are well written. I can hardly wait for Book Three.
This is book 2 in a new series that is getting irresistible. I am not a fan of MC I am enjoying how well this is written. I have to admit I wanted to smack Rock a couple times, but hey, storyline. I love the strong women in this series and the premise is so intriguing. Is it happening in real life? Could it? Thank you Shirleen Davies and Booksprout. All thoughts and opinions are my own and we;re unsolicited.

This is an action packed, suspenseful, dramatic and romantic story. Rock is a interesting guy, he’s sweet, considerate, protective and caring. But he, and also Ghost, refuse to see into their own hearts, completely oblivious, while giving each other the same advice. Tess is determined, strong and confused. She cut him out of her life before she had her baby because of his ties to the MC and their illegal activities. Two years later she runs into him at the McCord ranch and agrees to have dinner with him, both thinking that the friendship they had originally could begin again. Until she opened the door for him in her tank top and shorts that she slept in. He couldn’t stop himself after that and took it to the next level, and they became friends with benefits. They each tried to be casual, but Tess kept being targeted, and Rock kept insisting on protecting her, then she’d try to distance herself, repeat. There are so many twists to the storyline that every time you think you get, you find out you don’t.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author. This is my honest and voluntary opinion of it.
This is my first book by this author and it is also my first MC book. I liked the action in this and I always love a military flavour in a romance novel. I found a a couple things difficult to manage but maybe it is on par for a MC book. Rock is part of a black ops motorcycle gang of which the members are also his SEAL buddies. They all seem to make their appearance is this story. What I found difficult was each member had both a Christian name and a club name of which both were used throughout the book. That’s a lot of names to keep track of! The other thing I found difficult to reconcile is Rock’s MC gang members are supposed to be badass, dangerous outlaws always under the sheriff’s watchful gaze. Yet they also host free horse riding clinics for kids with disabilities and special needs. Given their community standing as unlawful biker dudes, how did the “authorities” approve of them working with children? Mild heat factor. Good action. Worth more investigation 🙂

This is Rock and tessa’s story. In the previous book Tessa was betrayed by her husband and best friend. She has a cute little boy named Travis. Rock was betrayed by family as well. Tessa doesn’t know he’s active duty, only that he’s in a motorcycle club and it’s not legit. There is a lot of action, bombing, Rock trying to avoid how he feels about Tessa but not wanting to let her go. Excellent read with a HEA.
