I’ve read a lot of books written by Ann Omasta; she has done a great job at writing another good book; she is one of my favorite authors. I can’t wait to read more of books her books.
The story line caught my attention at the very beginning and kept me interested throughout the entire book.
I loved the chemistry between the characters.

Alex and his daughter has lost their wife/mother and as that wouldn’t be enough – most of the town believes that he has done something to her.
Josie has had her planned future shattered when she couldn’t keep on swimming to reach her gold.
They both end up together, first as an employee and employer and later on as something more.
Their life couldn’t be better and then…
It was a heartwarming story with good characters. The ending though, was a bit of a shock.

A woman suddenly disappears and leaves her husband Alex and daughter Hannah behind. As if that would not be bad enough, the small town almost immediately believes that he had killed his wife. At the beginning of the summer holidays he hires a nanny for Hannah to not be alone while he works. Little by little Josie, the nanny, is bringing happiness back into their lives and makes it worthwhile again.
But is it possible to start a relationship with a missing wife?
Interesting and well-written, the book touches a few problems in our modern society, while at the same time being entertaining.-

Edge of your seat suspense filled love & romance, this KU story is full of hope and heartbreak.
Dreams for life and love can shatter. Sometimes things can be rebuilt. Sometimes there is no choice but to move on. The heart-rending characters are met with both scenarios.
In the end, there must be change for someone, because once done cannot be undone.

The ending really ratcheted up my overall impression of this story. I can’t wait to read the follow-on! The whole issue of hero Alex’s missing wife Claire just lays low and simmers in the background throughout the story. I did find it odd that, with so many of the local people concerned about her disappearance, there’s little mention of any police investigation.
Alex’s daughter Hannah is a favorite character for me. Her joy and sorrow gave this romance lots of heart. I liked the way young Hannah moved Alex and Josie closer. The absent Claire left me a bit ambivalent about whether Alex and Josie should have been trying harder to resist any mutual attraction, but it was a difficult, frustrating, nebulous situation so I can understand their actions. There’s some steam, but the majority of the story focused on building emotional connections.
I enjoyed it and would recommend it despite the cliffhanger ending. The continuation is set for release in a few weeks, so I won’t have to wait for months to learn how their dilemma resolved itself.
I read a complimentary advance copy of the book; this is my voluntary and honest review.
A refreshing new series full of romance passion and unexpected twists. Fans of Anne’s previous works won’t be disappointed

This is book one in the Brunswick Bay Harbor Gems series. I really enjoyed reading about Josie, Alex and Hannah. Josie and Alex are two characters that have tragic pasts and baggage that are impacting their present lives. Josie needs a job and Alex needs a nanny for his little girl as his wife is missing. Can these two find happiness within themselves and each other? This was a really enjoyable read, a well written story but be warned this story does not end in this book! It is a cliffhanger ending! Anxiously, awaiting for the next book.

Small town romances are always a joy to read and this one is no exception. A great start to a new series with strong and well developed characters that are captivating, a story line that is enjoyable to read, and is a book that you won’t want to put down once you start reading.

This was a really great read and is Alex and Josie’s story you cannot help but feel for these two they have both been through a lot but together they can learn to heal and live again. I enjoyed the storyline and really liked getting to know these two. This was the first book in the new series and I am looking forward to reading more.
This is an amazingly well-written story. My heart broke for Alex every time one of the townspeople snubbed him. Josie’s unattainable dreams tugged at my emotions. And Hannah is such a vivacious little sprite; she’s utterly charming and completely infectious. The other reviewers aren’t kidding when they say that’s one heck of a cliff-hanger ending. Normally I avoid any book that has even a whiff of love-triangle around it, but this story now has me torn in shreds, dying to know how it’s all going to turn out.

ONE SWEET ADVENTURE!!!
Can’t touch this! A swirling bevy of skepticism and speculation along with all the drama, tension and intrigue catapults this little treasure to life beautifully. Throw in a little suspense and you have one prize winning delight. A throng of startling circumstances and a slew of surprising events blast those churning emotions forward front and center. A gripping storyline and turbulent plot blast through melding this jewel together one piece at a time. The characters are genuine, tangible and realistic with depth and qualities that blend and flow. Fantastic job Ann, thanks for sharing this little treasure with us.
The storyline was great and the development of the characters were so outstanding that I was totally engaged as I turned each and every page until the very end!
Shattered Diamonds is an emotional dramatic start of a Brunswick Bay Harbor series by Ann Omasta, Josie Michaels no longer can preform up to Olympic standards of swimming and is waitressing for her Aunt until her Aunt tells Alex Biggs he will need a nanny for his daughter, Hannah. In small town Brunswick Bay Harbor, Alex is accused and treated terribly by the town for murdering his wife when she just disappeared one day. This is a wonderful setup for the story a missing/murder wife and an interesting dynamic between Alex, Hannah and Josie. Josie needs to be needed and Alex and Hannah need warmth and attention. Well written and I am excited to read the next book in the series. I received this book as an arc for an honest review of it,
I really loved the story line in this book can’t wait for book 2 to see what happens next…
Ann Omasta is such a wonderful storyteller and this time she hooked me from the very first sentence and never let up. I cannot wait for the next book in the series! Charming and loving writing, especially between Alex’s daughter, Hannah, and the nanny, Josie, a beautiful progression of Alex and Jo’s relationship, and a great mystery to be solved. I could just “feel” Alex’s pain of being a social outcast until Josie showed up in their lives. Is he really responsible for his wife, Claire’s disappearance? What a brilliant ending and setup for the next book. It truly is a binge-worthy series!
This is a well written book with strong characters and an emotional story line. The author does a fantastic job bringing two damaged people together , supporting each other and building a strong relationship. She adds mystery and intrigue along with the hot chemistry and romance. She brings the story to life with her vividly painted scenes and had me hooked from start to finish , leaving me wanting more with the cliffhanger ending. The story moves quickly and smoothly and I loved reading it. Highly recommend this book.
