The book is a good small town romance read. The story has a good story line. The characters are good, and they have good chemistry.

What does an Olympic hopeful and a man accused of killing his wife have in common? I know what you are thinking…nothing! Though through a set of emotionally distressing events, these two damaged souls meet.
Mournful of the lives each thought they would have, they are forced to face a new and daunting future. Through necessity, misery, intrigue and attraction they create challenges of a lifetime for each other as well as the citizens of Brunswick Bay Harbor.
The ending to this tale was quite a shocker. I was flabbergasted to say the least. Thank goodness the second book to this series “Shinning Pearls” is now available. As soon as I finish this review I’m getting in my comfy chair to finish this mystery.

Shattered Diamonds is the first book in the Brunswick Bay Harbor Gems series. I have enjoyed Ann Omasta’s book in the past and this one was no exception. Alex and Josie are both hurting but for different reasons, you can feel the chemistry building between them as the storyline progresses. I enjoyed watching their relationship build as the good moves forward. I looks like the book will be ending on a HEA, but who knows what the next book in the series may hold in store. I would certainly recommend this read to others.
This 1st book in a new series will definitely pull at your heart as they navigate the waters of guilt, sadness, self and love. Can Josie and Alex come thru it all to a side where they can have it all?? Awesome start!!
Alex and Josie have both lost a lot in life. When their lives intertwine, they begin to come alive and live again. The townspeople are skeptical about his role in the disappearance of his wife but Josie has complete faith in him. Will their relationship stand up to the townspeople not to mention the surprise they are in store for that comes on the end. I voluntarily agreed to receive an ARC of this book for an honest review.
I loved this book … until the very end. I’m giving it 3 Stars for good writing and a very interesting premise. I won’t be giving out any specific spoilers but even with the next book in the series already on my Kindle, I didn’t continue to read about Josie and Alex. Both these characters were so well written and I grew to really like them the more I learned about them and the circumstances that led them to get together. The surrounding characters are also all well drawn and interesting and add so much depth to the story. The story is well written. But – the direction the story took at the very end just ruined it for me. It suddenly fell flat and cliched and too much like a bad TV movie or soap opera. As a reader, I’m still bummed about it even though I read this several weeks ago. I’d like to ask the author to take it back and redo the ending and please not go in the direction she took her story. 🙁
Shattered Diamonds, my sixteenth read from author Ann Omasta and the first book in her Harbor Gems series. Another entertaining and well-written read from her. I was given an Audible copy of this book & am voluntarily reviewing it. It was intriguing to listen to the author that wrote the book narrate it herself. I’ll have to get more books in this series. A nice romance with a “did he do it” twist
Shattered Diamonds is the first book that I have read by Ann Omasta so I was not sure what to expect. But the description looked like it would be a sweet romance that I could get lost in for a few hours. This is exactly what happened as I got wrapped up in the very slow moving love affair between Josie and Alex.
This book does have a cliffhanger so be warned. I found it a bit Harlequinnie for me, which is not my usual reading material, but it did not put me off enjoying reading it. I found that Ann wrote a cohesive story with well developed characters. Plus she added in a lot of emotional, heart-string pulling moments as you root for Josie and Alex to find their HEA.
I received a free ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review. My opinions are all my own.
Where to start…. I love the way Ann Omasta writes. She’s highly talented and she makes you feel things. Parts of this were so great!! I just don’t do well with love triangles.

Its hard to imagine how emotionally hard it is to be in Alex’s situation. Although this book was primarily about Alex and Hannah, all through I was curious about the mustery surrounding Claire.

I am always disappointed by books with cliffhangers that don’t specify that in the blurb. I was reading this book, enjoying the story and wondering what was going to be revealed about Claire, and oops… the story doesn’t end here. You have to get the second book to find out. This author is one of my favorites so I was unhappy to find I would have to get the next book to finish the story. If not for that, I would have given this a better rating. Alex and Josie and Hannah are all wonderful characters. They are all broken in their own way and I was excited to see how they find their HEA.

This was a twisted romance between a man who was accused of murdering his wife because he disappeared and the nanny he hired for the summer to watch his daughter. He is still technically married because his wife Claire has not been found dead or alive yet and he lets his lust for a younger woman take over his common sense. I thought his wife was the love of his life. Josie was great with Alex’s daughter Hannah, but she should have kept her distance romantically from Alex.
I really enjoyed reading this story but it ends in a major cliffhanger. I’m not a fan of cliffhanger’s especially when the next book is not even out yet. That aside the book is well written and you are drawn into the story from the first page. The characters are well developed and engaging.
The start of a new series called Brunswick Bay Harbor Gems it is well written, but does end on a cliff-hanger. I will be reading the next book to find out what happens. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
WOW! This was quite a story. My only problem with it is that it ended in a cliffhanger and the next book isn’t out yet. Loved the characters, including the stuffed giraffe! This was a very moving story and I’m really anxious to see how it plays out. I love that we got to see things from different perspectives in such a difficult situation. Love the small town feel but hate it at the same time. It’s difficult seeing how judgmental people can be. Another really good book by Ms. Omasta.

Terrific!
Ms. Omasta has done it again with the first book in this series. As always her characters are more than compelling in their sensitivity towards the welfare of others. Josie and Alex are no exception with their developing feelings towards each other, while still putting Hannah ahead of themselves. Of course there’s a twist in their romance, and we are left wondering what will become of this newly formed trio. Great characters and story in this beautifully written book.

Cliffhanger Maine Romance
This is not too bad of a romantic story. There is a lot of detailed sex which I skipped over. This is not a ‘sweet’ or ‘clean’ romance It also has a sharp, cliffhanger ending. This book is the first of a series. I received this ARC book for free from Booksprouts and this is my honest review.
