Highly recommend the entire Sharpe series
Good story, with good history content.
I love Bernard Cornwell’s historical novels and I love being entertained this well. Richard Sharp is the perfect hero…he has flaws but he is truly “the good guy”. This is one of a series of Sharp novels. I’ve read them all and can find nothing but entertainment…oh, and some history too.
Love the Richard Sharpe character. I’ve read the entire Sharpe series and would read them over again. Fell in love with Sharpe when I saw the movies on PBS, now have all the books, the movies, and the television series. If you like historical military and main character that is loyal to his friends, loves the ladies and is a real rascal. You’ll love this book.
Great book as usual from Bernard Cornwall. Action backed and filled with historic detail regarding the Napoleonic wars. Highly recommend it along with the other books in the Sharpe’s series
Bernard Cornwell is the best at historical fiction.
In this genre – by far my favorite author. I have read every Sharpe’s novel!
I love all Bernard Cornwell books.
Well written with attention to historical accuracy.
I love Cornwell’s writing style. His characters are wonderful and his accurate portrayals of historic battles are great
I have read all of Bernard Cornwell’s books. They are all great story telling, action, intrigue, dialogue and characters. I found about this author in 2011 and I have totally enjoyed every book he’s written. These are the kind you hate to see end. They are so good, you just want them to keep going.
Loved the whole Sharpe series on DVD. Saw it on PBS.
I enjoy the Sharp story line. This one had a few twists that held my attention.
It is typical Cornwell. A good read.
Good historical novel. Look forward to more Sharp novels.
