Read this book! I love the fact that you don’t have a clue until it’s over.
Haunting. HBO did a great job on the series. Loved the book! Gillian Flynn can do no wrong.
If you’re thinking about reading this book because you’ve been watching the fantastic HBO series, let me help you: read Sharp Objects now. Find someplace quiet, and read the entire thing in (almost) one sitting like I did.
Even if you’ve seen the entire HBO series, and know the plot forward and backward, you should absolutely read this novel (and …
It was a bit too predictable and didn’t hold the same suspense as Flynn’s other books.
Years ago,I acquired ” Gone Girl”. Which I liked. It was my kind of messed up, so the next time I came across one of Ms Flynn’s books, I grabbed it. But I didn’t let myself read it right away as my expectations were much too high.
So here I am, several years after “GG” and I finally get around to “Sharp Objects”. It started slow but reeled me in a …
Gone Girl made Gillian Flynn a household name, but her previous books were a good foundation for what was to come. Sharp Objects as all the makings of a southern gothic and Flynn delivers a stunning, twisty novel about small town murders and the secrets people keep.
Camille is a more likable character than Gone GIrl’s Amy, though she has a messed …
This is an incredible read! I couldn’t put it down the moment I started.
I loved this book. it was short, easy to read, and no unnecessary drama.
Camille Preaker left the small town of Wind Gap, hoping never to return. Working as a newspaper reporter in Chicago, the last thing she expects is to be sent back to Wind Gap to cover a murder investigation. To write her story, Camille must face a mother who never loved her and a town with dark secrets. And when she begins to pry up those hidden …
i didnt get to read your book but i pick what i think it woudle be like by the coffer of the book
I knew I loved Gillian’s mind from seeing the movies based on her books but this was my first time actually reading something from her.
Camille is such a human character and with all her flaws you can really relate with her in some situations. The story is so well written that make it impossible to put this book down …
Early Gillian, get it.
Well, this was my first Gillian Flynn book. I loved it instantaneously. She has a flair for writing and she packs her characters with a punch. She thinks differently and she has her way with the story. This is a must read in its genre. It allows you to dive deep into the twisted souls and figure out the reason why they do what they do. This is a …
Incredible book–was hooked from Page 1. The image of the cutter heroine is still lingering in my mind, though I finished the book ages ago. Those words all over her…*shudder*.
No wonder Stephen King blurbed this book. It’s THAT good!!
Love the writing style. Very descriptive with metaphors that make you exactly feel what the author wants you to feel. A story of page-turning moments I read in literally just a day.
Could be quite triggering for some.
I found this one a bit hard to understand but love Gillian Flynn’s writing none the less.
Creepy and compelling
I listened to this only while in my car and found it mesmerizing though disturbingly gothic. Flynn describes the town in a way I feel in certain places that look serene but have a bad vibe
This book sold me in Gillian Flynn was before Gone Girl came out. But be prepared, if you thought Girl was dark . . .
