Bottom-feeders beware: the Sunshine State’s favorite psychotic killer and lovable Floridaphile, Serge Storms, has found a new calling, legal eagle, and he’s going to make a killing as a crusading attorney—and star as a dashing lawyer on the big screen—in this madcap escapade from insanely funny New York Times bestselling author Tim Dorsey
When it comes to swimming with the sharks, there is no … sharks, there is no bigger kahuna than Serge Storms. Bingeing on a marathon of legal movies set in Florida, Serge finds his vocation: the law. Never mind law school or that degree; Serge becomes a freelance fixer—wildcat paralegal and pilgrim to the hallowed places where legal classics of the big screen such as Body Heat, Cool Hand Luke, and Absence of Malice were filmed practically in his own backyard.
One of Serge’s old flames, young lawyer Brook Campanella, is also a rising star thanks to her expertise in the field of foreclosure law. Ruthless at taking down the greedy banksters kicking people out of their homes, she lands a major class-action lawsuit and looks set to win big. The opposition is determined to shut her down, and they’ll go to extreme lengths to do it.
Luckily for her, Serge likes nothing better than saving a damsel in distress, especially when it means kicking a bunch of shyster butt. The mayhem comes to a hilarious head at the Key West courthouse at the height of the island’s raucous Fantasy Fest street carnival, and no one, including Serge, will ever be the same.

Love all of the adventures that Serge, main character, has and all of the history he passes on as he is locating his latest victim. Lots of dark humor so not for the faint of heart.
Tim Dorsey is the greatest writer of all time, well at least, in what I have read. And I have read them all. The Colour of Magic is probably the BEST book that I have read, that was not written by Mr. Dorsey. In “Shark Skin ‘Sweet'”, Our favorite Cereal again finds a stupendous display of technique of terminating the Deployable drages of …
Not his best.
Dorsey’s serial killer/Florida history buff takes us on another weird-history tour of the Sunshine State.
I love this series. Who knew serial killers could have a moral compass? A bit screwy compass, but a compass none the less.
This author has written a fantastic series, have read all. Love the characters.
A little too silly
All Dorsey’s books are great and funny reads. Serge is one of the most harming psychopaths one will ever meet. Loaded with history and trivia about FL, especially the parts that don’t appear on tourist websites.
Tom Dorsey is always a good bet for a great time reading! Hilarious! May be a good idea to read in the garage because you won’t be able to put it down and your laughter will wake everyone in the House!!!
Too ridiculous, not funny, not clever. Carl Hiassen he is not. Did not finish reading.
Too slow in the beginning and so I gave up.
Sorry I wasted my time
Never lets me down, every one of the Serge adventures are very funny and wild stories.
Excellent
Enjoy all Dorsey’s book’s read so far. You never know what Serge is going to do next, but you know it will be entertaining.
The usual fun ride
This was one of those books that was odd, funny and a little hard to get into at the beginning. Then there were these hilarious moments, then suddenly one glorious OMG where you suddeny get it and you can’t wait to read the rest. I hadn’t finished it and bought the next one that had just came out.
Not bad but he’s not Carl Hiaason…..
all of the Serge books are entertaining
Great! All these books are fun to read and read again. Read all at least once.
