The “smoldering heat, epic romance, and awesome action”* of Nalini Singh’s New York Times bestselling series continues as two Arrows find themselves caught in a chilling conspiracy that spans all three races… Awakening wounded in a darkened cell, their psychic abilities blocked, Aden and Zaira know they must escape. But when the lethal soldiers break free from their mysterious prison, they find … mysterious prison, they find themselves in a harsh, inhospitable landscape far from civilization. Their only hope for survival is to make it to the hidden home of a predatory changeling pack that doesn’t welcome outsiders.
And they must survive. A shadowy enemy has put a target on the back of the Arrow squad, an enemy that cannot be permitted to succeed in its deadly campaign. Aden will cross any line to keep his people safe for this new future, where even an assassin might have hope of a life beyond blood and death and pain. Zaira has no such hope. She knows she’s too damaged to return from the abyss. Her driving goal is to protect Aden, protect the only person who has ever come back for her no matter what. This time, even Aden’s passionate determination may not be enough—because the emotionless chill of Silence existed for a reason. For the violent, and the insane, and the irreparably broken…like Zaira.

Shards of Hope (Psy-Changeling #14) by Nalini Singh – We are coming to the close of the first act of this massive world building achievement! Aden and Zaira are locked in a bunker, cut off from the Net, injured, lost in a wilderness with a storm and a swat team bearing down on them. You just have to love a power couple that are too tough to die! I have loved Aden from his first appearance, so I was hoping they saved someone cool for him! I am very satisfied! There were several moments that turned me into a gooey romantic squish in between all the tension and trying to keep everyone alive! Watching the people treated by the world as monsters build a home and a future … its gonna sound sappy … sometimes fiction gives you hope for reality. Happy Reading!
This is the fourteenth book in the series and while the overall worldbuilding was fascinating, the couple was just ok. After reading the last few books I had been eager to start Aden’s book thinking it would be like the previous ones, filled with passion and romance. However that isn’t what this book was for me.
Aden has been the quiet and unassuming leader of the Arrows but we have only seen a tiny bit of what he can do. I liked Aden but at the same time he didn’t have much of a personality. His whole character was focused on the Arrows and Zaria that I never felt that the true Aden was revealed. His abilities were fascinating but we barely got to see them which was disappointing.
Zaria wasn’t my favorite. She frequently goes on about how broken she is. This got old very quickly for me and made the book feel very long. Also she was obsessed with Aden to the point of getting blackout angry at other people touching him. I feel very uncomfortable about this because I know a lot of readers would see this differently if it had been Aden who was obsessive.
The book focuses on a lot of the politics going on between the races and the continued disruption of the fall of Silence. This got to be a little boring at times but some of it was really enjoyable and I like where the overall plot is going. I also loved the RainFaire pack and hope we see more of them in the future, maybe a novella?? While not my favorite, I still enjoyed this book and am excited to start the next one, especially after the ending with the establishment of the Trinity Accord.

Another fabulous addition to the Psy-Changeling series. While the previous two books were quickly added to my favorites from this series, this one wasn’t a disappointment either. Great plot and wonderful characters that you can’t help but care about.
Wow, I really loved this one. I didn’t think I would like Aiden’s story so much but he turned out to be such an awesome hero. Finding out what he can do with his powers was pretty cool. And the kids! Man, all those scenes with the kids. Killing me. So good!
This is part of Nalini Sings Psy/Changling books. It is a story of Arrows and how they are also learning to be part of the new order. Can they survive and grow? Yes, yes they can. Learning to be an Alpha in the process.

How do you describe Brilliance? Nalini Singh is truly a Brilliant writer. The world she creates, the characters in that world, is nothing short of Remarkable! Even the right to LOVE & FEEL.
A MUST READ!
Filled with adventure and romance. The good guys don’t always win, but they put up one helluva fight.
Thought provoking.
A book written the way a book should be written.
Nalini Singh gets a ‘Standing Ovation’ from me! I am still clap
I loved this book ,it was such a great add to the series 🙂 it had action and romance and mystery and it was just awesome 🙂
I have loved Aden since the 1st time we met him and his book did not disappoint ,i loved how he and Zaira get taken and they have to escape and end up in a changeling den ,i loved getting to see life from the point of 2 Arrows ,Aden always had to the be the perfect Arrow for his parents ,it put so much pressure on him but he never complained and he always looked after his people ,i loved his character so much and i was so happy to see him end up with someone like Zaira .
Ok i love Zaira ,she is a total badass ,but omg i feel so bad for her ,i can’t believe she isn’t totally insane after what her own parents did to her ,i wanted to cry every time we learned more about her past ,i loved how she 1st met Aden and Vasic ,i mean the fact that they helped her even tho they knew they would get into trouble when they were only little kids was such a great scene in the book (and 1 of my favorites ) ,i just loved the connection Zaira Made with Aden 🙂 i totally get why she wanted him all to herself ,he is so awesome and such a good person and they are pretty freaking perfect for each other , i wanted to shake her when she kept saying that she wasn’t good enough for Aden and that she was too broken for this relationship to work , i am so glad that she finally saw that it wasn’t true and that no matter what Aden loved all of her 🙂 it was like so awesome to see her finally accept that she could work through her issues and let Aden all the way in .
Also i loved meeting Remi , i was so intrigued by his character 🙂 i hope we get to see more of him season 2 of this series 🙂
Overall I’m full on in love with this book and i enjoyed the crap outta it 🙂 Nalini Singh just writes such a great characters and stories and everytime one of her books end i just want more 🙂 one of my favorite series for sure
I liked this book but it didn’t wow me. I tend to find most psy/psy couples boring as psy don’t show a lot of personality they tend to fall flat. However I didn’t find Zaira flat. Nope she was bat shit crazy. Just sayin’! I liked her but every time she talk about her rage monster I’d have flashes of the movie anger management were Nate was yelling “The anger sharks are swimming in my head!” lol. I also really liked Aden so a good 4 star read for me. I still think Ming is lame
This was the 14th book in the Psy-Changeling Series and I loved it. I recommend all the books in this series. I’ve just purchased her Guild Hunter Series and I’m excited to get started reading that series.
