Two things I know for sure:
1. Cheerleading absolutely prepared me to become a US Navy SEAL
2. Heath Treadway hates my guts
Let’s just say that this beautiful bear’s hatred for me involves a high school nickname and possibly a limerick. #badtwink
Now, he’s back in my life. And all I wanna do is show him that I’ve changed. My attempts so far have ended in hospitalization, second-degree … is show him that I’ve changed.
My attempts so far have ended in hospitalization, second-degree burns, and a destroyed towel rack. To be fair, I blame that last one on the hate sex.
Worse than all of that? I’ve started to catch feelings, and if he finds out about the military op that forever changed me, it might be game over.
I mean… can he forgive me if I can’t even forgive myself?
Shameless is post-military enemies-to-lovers MM romance set in a gym for combat vets. It features muscled twinks, beautifully-bellied bears, and a four-year-old with a lisp.
Note: This book depicts military violence, but the HEA is guaranteed.
This is the third book in the Wrecked Series. Several characters, including Roly, first appear in Scout and the Lavender Girl, written under my K.C. Littleton pen name. This is a completely separate series, and does not need to be read to enjoy Wrecked.

Whew. Roly simultaneously frustrated me and broke my heart. For the first half of this book I was screaming at him to leave Heath alone! How many times did Heath have to tell him to leave him alone before Roly got the idea? I mean, I get it, it wouldn’t have made for a good book if Roly had walked away. But, Jesus, in the real world, most would have left the prickly Heath to his own devices. I get Heath’s attitude and it was very justified; Roly just wasn’t taking the hint.
With that being said, once we started digging onto the real man Roly was and learning his story, oh man, I wanted to cuddle Roly up and never let him go. Those three lost days in Iraq…that poor man. Once Roly really started working on himself and realized he did deserve love, well, that’s what made the story. Roly was definitely the heart of this story. I’m so glad he finally got his Sexy Papa Bear.
As good as the first two books in the Wrecked series are, this one is better. I recall vividly reading those first few chapters of Sanctuary, thinking oh HECK YEAH, I have found a new author who writes with rhythm and wit and heat, an author whose work I know from the first sentence I’m going to love. This book, this funny, smoking hot, poignant, entertaining book, made me laugh and cry and laugh while I was crying. Heath and Roly made their appearances in the first two books but you could read this without having taken those journeys – you shouldn’t, but you could.
As a Texan, I appreciate the accurate portrayal of our state capital. As a reader, I appreciate the attention to detail, the easy tone, the honesty and the realness of the characters. I’m putting this on my re-read shelf.
Shameless is an enemies to lovers romance, I will preface this review with, I am not a fan of this genre at all but I still gave this book five stars and could not put it down. That’s because Kelly Fox wrote this book in a way that Heath and Roly had so much depth and emotion, that the enemies part played second to everything else that was going on. In the beginning of the book, Heath played up the enemies part to a tee, but as the book progressed, he calmed down and started to see the Roly we know and love. Roly absolutely broke my heart with his story and was definitely worth the wait. This book had me laughing and crying and falling in love with these two men. I highly recommend this third book in the series. All books can be read as stand alone books but there is just something magical when you start with book one!
This was a excellent installment in this series. I found myself completely vested in these two characters and the drama they were involved in with each other. The chemistry and attraction but most of all the connection kept me interested. Good reading
I’ve been waiting for Roly’s story since the first book. I love him! This story has all the feels. I laughed and cried. Roly and Heath are perfect together. I highly recommend!!
I don’t even know where to begin. This book ran the gamut of emotions for me. It was sweet, heartbreaking, funny, enlightening, romantic, and everything in between. Between the way the story unfolded, and the depth of emotions you can literally feel from the characters, this book was enjoyable from the moment I picked it up to the moment I finished it. This book has everything I want in a book: consistent writing throughout, a storyline that is captivating, characters that I genuinely like, and some steamy moments as a nice bonus. (This has some really good steamy moments, too; including some rather heated hate s e x.
This is book 3 in the series, and is actually the first one I’ve read as well. It can be read as a standalone. After getting to know the side characters a decent amount, I am curious to know their full stories, so I plan to start at the beginning, in order to experience it myself. This story fulfills so many tropes: hurt/comfort, enemies to lovers, bear and twink, military men, a recently out bisexual with very little experience and probably more that just aren’t popping in my head at the moment. All around it’s just a really good book, and I’d recommend it to anyone…even if the one, really, heavy scene made me tear up. That scene was important, so I forgive the author for doing that to me.
***I voluntarily accepted an ARC from Gay Romance Reviews. My review reflects my own thoughts and opinions***
Shameless is my favorite of the Wrecked series.
The underlying issues caused by the prior acts are expressed in such a way by the author that I could feel their hurt, anger, and confusion as if I were there, in their minds and their pasts.
It was hard to watch as past and present collide. I had all the feels reading this one. These guys are flawed and beautiful. Their journey through life and to the HEA at the end of this book is a hard-fought trip that took all of their strength and love to make it out to the happy, forgiving, and accepting point where they end up. I laughed, cried, argued, and threw my hands up in disgust. But then I cheered when they got out of their way long enough to grab onto that which would finally fill the empty place inside and would make them whole.
I look forward to more from this author.
Ever since I learned of Roly in the first book and his love for BEARS, and what happened to him during his military career, I knew his story is going to be something really really special. And it made me cry so hard. I love Roly, and I hate that he feels the way he does, that he thinks he does not deserve love and forever with someone.
Did I say I hate and love Morris at the same time. He is cranky, truth! But he sees Roly and he straight up told Heath what Roly truly wants.
This is the best book in the series so far, more angst than I expected but definitely worth waiting for. Roly and Heath will give you all the feels and so so much more!
Roly and Heath had me crying from all the emotions. The way Kelly so beautifully wrote about TBI in a meaningful, well researched and informed way, was wonderful. Living with someone who has a TBI and PTSD can have it’s ups and downs, and Kelly wrote this wonderfully. Adored this book and the depths that these guys will go to for their family.
I loved Shameless. I’ve really loved the whole series. One of my favourite tropes is Enemies to Lovers and this is such a great example of it. And oh man, I laughed. I liked all the things they got themselves into. I also liked that the rest of the characters featured prominently in this story as they all mean so much to each other, I like that we still get to enjoy them in each story. I loved that there were serious parts in the story and they were handled well. I really loved Roly and Heath and their story was sexy, hot, sweet, cute and adorable all wrapped up together. And the kids were so good in this book, between them and the dogs, they amped up the cuteness. I definitely recommend this book and the whole Wrecked series. I am hoping there will be more.
I really enjoyed this third book in the Wrecked series. It has all the feels and I spent a good deal of the time either with a heartache or with tears flowing. Fox knows just how to write to get you wrapped up completely in her characters’ emotions.
The MCs this time around are Roly, the co-owner of the gym Wrecked and Heath, a man who despises Roly for the way he treated him when they were all in high school. Of course, Roly has always had a crush on Heath and now Heath fits the perfect mold of the men (bears) that Roly is interested in. Roly has made significant changes in his life as a result of an awful incident suffered while he was a Navy SEAL in Iraq. He has tried to be a better person and it kills him that Heath doesn’t like him. He tries a number of times to make things up to him, with awful results.
As the story progresses, we learn much more about the backgrounds of the MCs and while Roly’s high school behavior isn’t excused it is explained as are the incidents that led to his reformation. I’m not sure I quite get the connect between his actions at a party in Iraq and the subsequent horrendous event and I don’t see why Roly is punishing himself the way he is but I do get that Roly feels it and that is what is most important. The crisis moments are raw and emotionally gutting. The issue that comes to a head related to Roly’s war experience is a bit harder for me to wrap my head around. Maybe it needed more background from the other character’s perspective as it seems to undercut the previous versions of the story that we’ve heard. (Why would that character have that opinion or information if the other person involved did not hold a grudge?)
Those are minor issues and possibly just my own brain cells not connecting the dots as well as someone else’s might. There are also several editing issues and proofreading issues which I always find bothersome but even more so when there are specific author notes thanking someone for their editing and proofreading services.
None of those things are enough to take away the emotional impact of this story and the important message it sends, like the previous books in the series, about the plight of so many veterans. I was completely sucked in by the story, staying up all night to finish it as I didn’t want to put it down. These kinds of next-day book hangovers are the best kind.
I highly recommend this book, in fact the whole series. I’d recommend reading the books in order in order to fully appreciate the role of the other characters in this book’s storyline.
