A full-length standalone holiday romcom from USA Today Bestselling author, Delancey Stewart! I’ll just admit it right up front—I don’t love the holidays. In fact, Christmas makes me downright cranky. Call me the Grinch if you must, but if your dad chose that day to decide he was wrong about that whole wanting a family thing, you’d grow up miffed about mistletoe too. Every candy cane, ugly … wanting a family thing, you’d grow up miffed about mistletoe too. Every candy cane, ugly sweater, and falalalala reminds me of the worst day of my life.
So when my uncle—a bigwig network executive—gives me one last shot to salvage my disastrous TV production career on a show called Holiday Homes, I’ve got no choice but to suck it up, head to the small town of Singletree, and fake festive.
The problem?
Callan Whitewood. The sexy, sullen former pro-soccer player might be the one person on earth who hates the holidays more than I do. After a devastating injury ended his career, he’s left with a limp, no idea what to do with his future, and a cheerless attitude worthy of Ebenezer Scrooge. But I’ve got a TIME LIMIT to convince the gorgeous grump to allow his home to be featured as the pinnacle of the Christmas episode of the show that’s going to save my career.
That is, if I can keep my hands off him… but I’m having a bit of trouble sticking to the task.
SHAKING THE SLEIGH is a standalone holiday romantic comedy with a satisfying happily ever after, plenty of festive chuckles, some sexy times and a few chinchillas. Maybe a cat. (And there might be a wombat because wombats really do fit into almost any story.)

Loved author’s eloquence and turn of phrase. Editors didn’t do a very good job on the e-book edition.
Even though I knew how this would turn out, I totally enjoyed the experience of getting there.
A good story. No need for explicit sex.
:April does not love the holidays. Her dad chose that day to decide he was wrong about the whole wanting a family thing. Every candy cane, ugly sweater, and falala reminds her of the worst day of her life. Her uncle, a bigwig network executive, gives April one last shot to salvage her disastrous TV production career on a show called Holiday Homes. She heads to the small town of Singletree and fakes festive. April has a time limit to convince Callan, a former pro-soccer player, to be the pinnacle of the Christmas episode. A devastating injury ended his career and left him with a limp. He has no idea what to do with his future. He is sexy, sullen and hates the holidays more than April does. She has a hard time focusing on the show and not Callan. – April and Callan both had bad memories of the holidays. They were instantly attracted to each other and were great together. They balanced each other and made the other more positive. Callan’s nieces were precious and a nice part of the story. This is a heartwarming holiday romance.
ok, so watching the Christmas specials about the crazy decorated houses will never be the same. At least this was the celebration of a town vs a competition. Oh, boy, such creative issues with the other 3 houses. Biting my tongue not to spoil it. I loved the people of this town. I did want him to provide more reindeer.
Yes, there is a lot of sex acts along the way. Well written … but started skimming them. They did not advance the story. Feel free to skim so you don’t miss the rest of a good read.
Really loved this story, wonderful characters. Highly recommend
Loved the book, the story was well written and the characters were intriguing. Once I started I could not get enough, from the start till the end I was engrossed I was even on the edge of my seat with twists and turns, lust and passion, strength happiness and funny. A entertaining well written Romantic Christmas romance. This engaging storyline is funny, includes sexy love scenes and an amazing worthwhile supporting cast of characters, even a funny animal or two. The characters are well developed, interesting, have great chemistry and honestly think they can get through without the miracle of Christmas. I voluntarily read and reviewed this incredible ARC.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book, but it didn’t need the steamy parts (which I just skipped over).
Shaking The Sleigh is a fun Christmas romance by Delancey Stewart. Ms. Stewart has delivered a fun book. I love the characters in this story. April is getting a last chance with her uncle and is assigned to produce a show on holiday homes. April happens to hate Christmas anything. Callen loses his career and his fiance when he breaks his ankle on the soccer field. Callen and April’s story is loaded with drama, laugh out loud humor, sizzle and misunderstandings. I enjoyed reading Shaking The Sleigh and would be happy to read more from Delancey Stewart in the future. Shaking The Sleigh is book 3 of the Singletree Series but can be read as a standalone. This is a complete book, not a cliff-hanger.
“Evidently producing the Christmas episode meant everyone she met would automatically assume she was just as Christmas-crazy as the people who decked out every inch of their houses on the show.” And April was not about that life. April did NOT enjoy Christmas at all. But she is given a career saving opportunity, so she is going to make the best of it!
Callan ended up in this small town because his soccer career is over. It’s the only thing he has ever known, but he has to move on. His brother and nieces are in this town, so this is where he decided to settle in. Meeting April and disputing with her over showing his house for a Christmas show was definitely not on his list of things to do. It definitely didn’t coincide with wanting to stay OUT of the limelight.
Cranky Callan and anti holiday April definitely butt heads – and it is all very entertaining!
Bringing in characters from the town and Callahan’s brother and nieces made the story even more enjoyable. Great story line and world building. I’m looking forward to more from Singletree!
This book was a fun laugh out loud Christmassy romance ! I really enjoyed it !
April is a last chance producer for a tv show about houses decorated for Christmas but she hates Christmas ! She has to travel to a small town that’s FULL of Christmas and smile through her teeth .
Callan is an ex soccer star who career ended due to injury . He’s grumpy and he’s grieving but all that changes with April’s appearance.
Ultimately they save each other in ways they weren’t expecting .
I loved the quirky town of single tree and all the side characters! And I’m looking forward to reading more of their stories!
This appears to be book three in the single tree series but I didn’t even realize until the end of the book so it’s definitely fine as a stand alone ! Having said that though I’m now kean to go back and read the others and more about this town and will be watching for the next one which I hope is for call and brother !!! And that he’s matched with either annabelle or April’s friend from la haha
This story was cute and fun and sexy, and it was a perfect read for Christmastime!!
The characters were so lovable, I fell for all of them. Some were quirky, some were grumpy, and some were a little bit perverted. Never a dull moment in the small town of Singletree. Loved it!
This was my first read by this author and I look forward to more!
I really enjoyed this book, the characters were well written and had great chemistry. I look forward to reading more by this author in the future.

This would have been a 4 star book if it had been edited better. I will go into details below, but first I will tell you what made it good. Callan is a beautiful broken hero who grows and learns how to move forward after his injury. April is a reality TV producer on her last chance to prove that she can do her job. I love that she has valid reasons for not loving the Christmas holiday season, yet is immersed in the craziness of Christmas in Singletree for her show. Through the town and Callan she experiences some healing from past hurts. This story is told using the dual, first person POV method, which I enjoy.
Books where the protagonists help each other heal/grow/be better people are my favorite, and this book delivers that. The town is also full of likable and interesting secondary characters that deserve their own stories. These two factors kept this book in the 3 star instead of 2 star range. There were regular errors that should have been caught by editors and beta readers. Frequently throughout the book the POV would change from first person to third person (incorrect pronoun) in the middle of a sentence. I found this very distracting, and it happened so much that it was actually annoying. I did not see this many errors in the author’s Mr. Matched books so I am unsure if there was a change in editors or if this one was just rushed to release. Either way, I found the number of errors inexcusable.
Ultimately this book was good but definitely could have been better.
I read this book through Kindle Unlimited.
4 1/2 stars
This is the first I’ve read by this author. I will go back and read the first two in this series to catch up.
Shaking the Sleigh is a cute and sexy read. There is just enough angst to keep it interesting.
The characters are believable and I enjoyed meeting them all.
I have confidence in Callan and April’s HEA and look forward to seeing them in subsequent books.
I’m hoping there soon will be a book devoted to the brother and kids.
This, to me, is a sexier version of a Hallmark movie. I like Hallmark movies so it’s a winner for me.
I look forward to more by this author.
Extremely entertaining, captivating and interesting sexy read. I could not put it down. Wonderfully written with strong, intriguing characters. I want to read more from this author.

What a phenomenally heartwarming story about learning to overcome past pain in order to find happiness. After a forbidden and frowned upon romance ends her career, producer April is sent to Singletree, Maine on a trial bases to cover a home decorating segment for a home design network. Callan moves to Singletree following a devastating knee injury ended his professional soccer career. When these two meet the attraction and connection is off the charts yet April’s career threaten to tear them apart. Shaking the Sleigh is a captivating holiday romance that will pull at reader’s heartstrings from beginning to end. Filled with heartache, resentment, anger, secrets, grief, loss, friendship, family, passion, healing, forgiveness, second chances, and love. I really loved reading this first book in a new series from Delancey Stewart and I can’t wait for the next book in the series.
So charming!
I loved this book! Perfectly charming and sexy, this will get you right in the holiday spirit! Adorably quirky setting, funny side characters, a reluctant hero and a grumpy heroine made this book unputdownable!
I love that Delancey wrote an off spin of the Maryland town of Singletree! And that Grandma from the Happily Ever series made a fun appearance! April and Callum both had their reasons for not loving the holiday or wanting anything to do with it. But they found each other, rather quickly so it is a love-at-first-sight type of whirlwind, but nicely done. The residents of the town are fun and quirky and help make the book a fun read! I hope we get Callum’s brother’s story next!
