A full-length standalone holiday romcom from USA Today Bestselling author, Delancey Stewart! I’ll just admit it right up front—I don’t love the holidays. In fact, Christmas makes me downright cranky. Call me the Grinch if you must, but if your dad chose that day to decide he was wrong about that whole wanting a family thing, you’d grow up miffed about mistletoe too. Every candy cane, ugly … wanting a family thing, you’d grow up miffed about mistletoe too. Every candy cane, ugly sweater, and falalalala reminds me of the worst day of my life.
So when my uncle—a bigwig network executive—gives me one last shot to salvage my disastrous TV production career on a show called Holiday Homes, I’ve got no choice but to suck it up, head to the small town of Singletree, and fake festive.
The problem?
Callan Whitewood. The sexy, sullen former pro-soccer player might be the one person on earth who hates the holidays more than I do. After a devastating injury ended his career, he’s left with a limp, no idea what to do with his future, and a cheerless attitude worthy of Ebenezer Scrooge. But I’ve got a TIME LIMIT to convince the gorgeous grump to allow his home to be featured as the pinnacle of the Christmas episode of the show that’s going to save my career.
That is, if I can keep my hands off him… but I’m having a bit of trouble sticking to the task.
SHAKING THE SLEIGH is a standalone holiday romantic comedy with a satisfying happily ever after, plenty of festive chuckles, some sexy times and a few chinchillas. Maybe a cat. (And there might be a wombat because wombats really do fit into almost any story.)

Especially when She spies THAT Guy…
The ONE who just bought the House that woulda been the Show’s Finalé!

Oh my, I love this story. I love April. I feel for her. I hurt for her. I love Callan. My heart also hurts for him. But Cormac, Taylor and Maddie squeezed my heart in their collective fists. The scene near the end when the girls climb up in April’s lap had me squalling like a baby. But back to the story. April needs her self confidence and her joy back. Callan needs his hope and is vision back. I love the interactions in this book. I love the town. I love all the characters. The book is well written with depth and feeling all the way through. The pace is good. The underlying stories are wonderful. The humor and the quirkiness are spectacular.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Two anti-holiday people, with the help of an interesting cast of characters, find that together they can have a happy holiday.
Could barely get through this
I just loved this book. I was so anxious to see where things would end up that I read it quickly! Then, I turned back to page 1 and read it a second time, more slowly. Different approach to the Christmas theme.
Great book for holiday reading.
Cute story with loveable characters!
Well, Singletree gets its second celebrity in Shaking the Sleigh. Callan Whitewood is now an ex-professional soccer player. It isn’t what he chose. It isn’t what he wanted. He wasn’t ready to retire from the game he loves. Fate had other ideas. Now, he’s in Singletree just in time for the holidays. A holiday that he truly hates.
April has hated Christmas since the age of seven and now she’s in Christmas hell. Yep, she’s landed in Singletree, Maryland, a town that has changed its name to Christmas Tree in celebration of the holidays. She’s there to produce a freaking Holiday Homes series. She is totally immersed in all things Christmas and she hates it. To top it all off, one of the homes she has to feature has just been bought by Callan Whitewood and he is refusing to let them film even though he signed a contract. April’s job is on the line and she is on her last chance.
Shaking the Sleigh is fun, witty, and entertaining. The characters of Singletree are quirky and once again Gran steals the show (even though she’s not one of the featured characters). You don’t have to read these books in order, but I would suggest starting with Happily Ever His so you can get a true feel for all of these characters and appreciate them in all their glory. Merry Christmas!
Delancey is a new author to me, but I really enjoyed this book and will be searching for more!
A nice sweet Christmas read, although there is some spicy steamy fun too. The town of Singletree sounds like a Hallmark movie. Totally festive and fun. Callan’s nieces, Maggie and Taylor are adorable.
The only drawback is that the story needed some extra proofreading. Repetitive words in sentences or some sentences that even reading out loud didn’t make sense.
took a little to get into this but it was super cute
A light enjoyable story. A wonderful relaxing afternoon read.
Cute fun read. I enjoyed it.
Quick easy read, A bit far fetched.
Enjoyed
I couldn’t get into the story. It didn’t hold my interest.
Love the characters in this book!
Cute Christmas book!! Loved the characters!!
liked the story line. Enjoyed the book. Had a little trouble with grammar when character was speaking in first person saying I did so and so them changed to him or his to finish the action.
