A see yourself out note isn’t how you want to celebrate the morning after your first one-night stand. The first time I meet Archer Callahan is when I block him in a parking spot. The second is a fender bender. The third is at a bar, drinking away our problems, and finding our way to his bed.I never expected to see him again. That changes when a month later, he’s introduced as my brother’s new … introduced as my brother’s new business partner.
In need of a job, I’m hired at their bar, much to Archer’s dismay.
We hate each other.
We’re off-limits.
But every time we’re together, flashbacks of that night shake through us.
We push, we pull, until one of us breaks.

Shaken is the second book in Charity’s new series, Twisted Fox. Georgia is the younger sister to Cohen (book 1) and Archer is his friend/business partner. Brother’s best friend is MY JAM.
So I didn’t like Archer at first. For a while, actually. Every time I started to change my view of him, he’d do something infuriating. But I LOVED everything about Georgia and when they were good, they were SO GOOD.
I don’t know how Charity did it but she made me fall in love with him, and I think that’s a huge deal for authors. Changing readers’ minds about characters isn’t always easy, but near the end of the book I couldn’t deny that Georgia and Archer were perfect. He just wasn’t smart enough to see it early on.
I do think Shaken can be read as a stand alone, but you’re definitely missing out if you don’t read Stirred. Now I’m waiting patiently for Lincoln’s book!
Archer and Georgia always intrigued me from book one so I could wait to read this one and if you are looking for a book with all the frustrating angst! Then this is the read for you!
Georgia and Archer keep running into each other, the circumstances not the best and only causes conflict between them. Sitting in a bar one night Archer notices that Georgia is also there. Something in the way she looks calls to him and he makes his way over to her. Both of them are hurting and share their problems while drinking the night away. When the decision to leave together comes up, there is no question about it, they both want each other and head to Archer’s place. The next morning Georgina wakes up all alone with a note from Archer which ultimately hurts her but she needs to remember it was only one night.
Fast forward a few years and Archer and Georgia come face to face again when Archer and Georgia’s brother, Cohen, open a bar together. Georgia thinks this is perfect as she has always wanted to see Archer again. Archer not exactly sharing the same feeling.
Oh boy, you are in for a frustrating time with Archer. He is so hot and cold but mainly cold with Georgia. He’s a little cliche of a male character, thinking his darkness is too dark for his heroine but he is so different with how often he pushes her away and I was ready to give up on him at one point. He’s tortured himself for years, not dealing with his problem but when he lets that little bit of light in, his sexy, laidback character appears and I loved how Georgia brought this out in him.
When this couple finally get it together they are so good together, you could feel the love and bond between them and the steam levels were hot!
This is a great series with great side characters that we will be getting to know better in follow on books. This book can be read as a standalone.
ARC received for an honest review.

Shaken is book two in the Twisted Fox series. It can be read as a standalone. Archer and Georgia have some funny run in and then a sexy one nightstand. Their paths don’t cross again until Archer is introduced as Georgia’s brother’s new business partner. Archer and Georgia have a kind of love-hate relationship. It’s hot and cold then hot again. There’s a lot of back and forth between the two. Archer is guarded and grumpy but when he lets his guard down is a pretty cool guy. There are many layers to Archer. Georgia is patient and very understanding. I liked these two.
SHAKEN is the 2nd book of Twisted Fox Series written by the Best-selling Author Charity Ferrel. Told in dual POV and can be completely read as standalone.
I love that this book starts with such some enjoyable scenes from Archer and Georgia. It started with a few disastrous run-ins and bumping each other again in a bar that lead them to a memorable one night stand thingy. When the following morning Georgia wake up alone with a note and cash for an uber. After a few months, they meet again and all hells breaks loose when they both discovered that Archer’s business partner in opening a bar will be Georgia’s brother. Their story will be more interesting as the story progress though theres a few drama that will get you to an emotional ride. This is so captivating and intriguing especially with Archer and his past that makes him so guarded. Charity Ferrel delivers this book with such ease. Entertaining yet emotional. Well written and has a story line that easy to follow with. This is a beautiful story of acceptance and second chance. If you read and like the first book then definitely you’ll gonna love this one.
Shaken (Twisted Fox Book 2) by Shaken (Twisted Fox Book 2)
Georgia Fox is a good heart, optimist, and fun-loving gal but has an uncanny way of attracting herself into embarrassing situations like a fly to honey. She is the epitome of clumsiness and “Murphy’s Law” scenarios that I’ve currently encountered. No matter how much she tries, she somehow gets entangled with Archer Callahan too many times and in the oddest of situations that one would think Fate was playing a good joke on them. Georgia somehow ended up with Archer/Chase later realizes that she and Archer would-be connected more than just one night.
Archer Callahan (aka “Chase Smith”) is a disappointed man. He’s been let-down by his family too many times. He wanted nothing to do with the family business, let alone with his disappointing father but had to work there…until one day, he decided that he had enough. He traded-in being kind to being career-driven. He just learned to be the worst person and show it to the world. He wanted a simple and quiet life. He discovers later that it’s not mean to be and his partner and good friend, Cohen, is the brother of Georgia who he had slept with!
The chemistry is very intense and passionate – love/hate going on as early as the very first chapter! I love the banter that goes on between them! There were a lot of “coincidental meetings” for Archer and Georgia in the book. These meet-ups are the ones I look forward to since these are the absolute funniest part of the book. I snicked, chuckled, and laughed my way through their volleying remarks. Both of them seems to be keeping score each time!
Georgia doesn’t take anything that Archer throws at her “sitting/lying-down”. She stood up and defended herself, even as she gets distracted with all is stature (very tall, I might add). On the other side, Archer, as he gets riled up, also gets distracted in his mind on what was going on between his brain and Grace.
All joking around aside, both characters do have their own “issues”. During those low points, they ironically also bumped into each other. Their own histories are sad – definitely family issues. It is rare but they did try their best to be resilient and “move-on” with their issues and from their attraction. There is a lot of “pushing-pulling” going on …most on Archer’s part. It’s a lot of gut-wrenching confessions and more fights. I agree with Georgia’s friends that she needs to think of putting herself first at the end of all this.
The story spans weeks or sometimes months, which is nice and realistic to make the characters grow and realize how they are denying themselves the happiness that they both deserve. The story takes readers into Archer’s world with his new business and later his strained interactions with his family and the legacy that he has to face.
Georgia is a brave, and a very forgiving person – a saint! She is a big fan of second chances and is always on the positive side of life. She takes on the same attitude with Archer by giving so many chances to fess up but each time, he goes off and throws it to her face due to his fear and insecurities. She is also responsible for having Cohen and their mother work things out in the end..she’s a pure joy to read up about!
Archer’s story and background were not fully realized till far closer to the end – with why he’s been putting himself “down” with being with anyone. There was no way to have Archer “leap” into a relationship due to his “heavy past” and it all goes really full-on gut-wrenching each time. His ‘defeatist attitude’ is a downer and there are so many times that I wanted to “shake” him out of that slump of “doom and gloom” attitude. Ironically, his story unfolds later on before Georgia, and what she discovers about him that she realizes how best to help Archer in the end. Thank goodness!
The ending is beautiful. It took some time but that’s the reality with people who needs to get over things by themselves with their support system in place. For Archer, Georgia was the support system that he needed. She is a great woman to keep “fighting” for them, even if she feels that Archer has given up countless times. (Those are the times I just get so angry with him!) Without giving anything away, I am sure the readers will agree that the Charity did a great job of ‘weaving’ their story beautifully in the end.
I recommend this book for readers who love enemies becoming lovers, second chance romances, and hot steamy chemistry! I really appreciate the length and build-up that will ensure the characters really dig deep to mature and grow for each other – to be better versions of themselves to their loved ones in the end.
Gah, I really want to say I loved this book but Archer. I couldn’t get passed Archers self-centered, poor pitiful little me, “so many bad things happened to me so of course no one can love me” attitude that just kept me from enjoying it as much as I could have. Like dude, grow a pair and man up already.
The story itself was amazingly awesome, despite Archers every attempt to make it otherwise. I loved how Lola kept things real with Georgia, being the voice of reason needed to keep her head out of the clouds. For Georgia, after the first couple of oopsie run-ins with Archer (which I absolutely loved their first inerations!!!), after their one night together, he became her “one” and could seemingly do no wrong for as soon as he would hurt her, he would half assed apologize to her and she would immediately forgive him. She should have made him work a little harder to get back into her good graces, especially after the second and then third time of him pushing her away. I think that comes her from being such a good person overall, which she shows throughout the whole book.
Really, I think I’m just team “He’s not good enough for Georgia”, maybe I’m the only one and therefore the captain of the team, but I really do think that overall she was too good for him. I have to say, only towards the end do I feel like he finally grew as a character and became someone worthy of all the goodness that is Georgia.
This book is everything! I couldn’t stop reading until I was finished. Archer and Georgia are my favorite couple. They have the most amazing chemistry there is. I love Chairity’s style of writing is one that will make want to read all her books. I love this world she has created and I can’t wait for more!!
Georgia and Archer meet at the worst of times for both of them. They eventually end up spending a night together. Georgia ends up getting a job at a bar from one of the owners and the other partner turns out to be Archer. The two don’t get along and fight all the time. They still can’t forget that one passionate night. A steamy, good read.
This is the second book in the series and boy is it filled with emotion. Archer, first impressions not great. Not gonna lie I wanted to smack Archer a few times. That man gives emotional whiplash to Georgia. That doesn’t mean I don’t understand why archer acted the way he did. That’s why it’s easy to forgive the man eventually. Archer’s back story breaks my heart and he feels he doesn’t deserve the love Georgia offers. His happiness has been out of his reach, but he has never had the support system he does now. There are many moments in this book that made my heart happy. I loved Georgia. I want to be friends with her. I really love this group of friends. I can’t wait for the next book!
OMG my lovelies!! Shaken by Charity Ferrell is a heart wrencher , a heart warmer and a heart melter all in one. It was such an amazing reading experience. We got a glimpse of Archer and Georgia in the first of her Twisted Fox series, Stirred, so I knew we had something amazing coming our way. Boy did she deliver too! Ah, the push and pull perfection!
Archer and Georgia’s story is a perfect blend of so many of my favorite genres. You get your brother’s best friend, second chance, slow-burn, one-night stand to lovers, and enemies to lovers right here in one phenomenal book.
Georgia the spunky, bubbly and sassy ray of smokin sexy sunshine meets Archer in a series of mishaps gone wrong, their chemistry runs as hot as their anger and hatred for each other. Then just when things take an interesting turn after they have a run-in while drinking at the same bar that ends with them in between his sheets, only for him to leave her the next morning with a few words on a page and some coffee and a couple of donuts, and ruins it all. Her hopes of never seeing him again are crushed when she not only finds out that he is her brother’s elusive friend of a few years but his new business partner and one of her new bosses. As much as she hates him, her body sure remembers just how much it does not hate him. Will she be able to crack the code that is this confusing hot and cold man, or Is her heart already too far gone for this infuriatingly sexy jerk?
Archer Callahan is a one of those characters you want to bop upside the head with your kindle. He’s frustrating, but you also want to just give him a big hug too. You can feel that he literally has some serious baggage and my heart broker for him. He had so many people that cared for him and legit wanted to help carry some of that baggage for him so he wasn’t carrying it around all by himself but he just wanted to sit around and suffer in silence instead.Every.Single.Time he hurt Georgia to push her away it broke my heart. As the book went on It totally became apparent why he was the way he was and why he felt he needed to punish himself. Why he felt he wasn’t deserving of any happiness. I loved the way Charity wrote this and it unfolded slowly. It kept us in the frustrated place of longing and want. Pleading for them to get it together. I mean they just had to. They were MEANT TO BE!! They were so hot. Archer was so sexy and swoony and alpha AF even if he didnt realize or want to be.
My cr8zysockbookblock blog wrap up for this book!
– Archer and Georgia were perfect. This book was everything I hoped it would be and then some. It is full of frustration, secrets and heat, witty banter for days and the perfect little sassy and sweet heroine to balance out a gruff and self-punishing hero. This book was constantly deliciousness. For me this was definitely a book you I was hooked on from page one to the end. It gets FIVE STARS from me!
– GAH! This was both steamy and a little bit swoony. I love the push and pull of a good romp with a mega Alpha! This book was so unbelievably hot, I was literally dying all the deaths. They were verbally sparring so much I didnt know if they were about to be fighting or…well you know
Cliffhanger Warning- Y’all!*insert Happy Squeak* Perfection. Yay!
Shaken is the 2nd book in the Twisted Fox series. It is a one night stand, enemies to lovers, brother’s friend/colleague romance between Georgia & Archer who we met in the previous book. These books can be read as standalone’s but I always suggest reading interconnected series in order to get the full effect of the story.
Georgia – I instantly fell in love with Georgia when we met her in Stirred (book 1). On the outside she is a smart, sassy, fun loving, out going & strong character with a heart of gold. She speaks her mind and puts people in their place when necessary but on the inside she battles with abandonment issues as well as feeling unwanted or not good enough to make people stay. Though she been hurt in the past she never gives up going after what she wants.
Archer – oh Archer beautifully broken Archer. He was stubborn, grouchy, emotionally closed off with walls built high. He did not like to let people in too far but also selfishly did not want to let Georgia go. He was often hard to get a read on but you know he cared deeply he just had a hard time expressing himself. He was far from perfect and half the time I wanted to knock some sense into him but boy did I love him.
Their story was not perfect. It was messy, frustrating, passionate, drama packed, angsty with a few sweet and light moments, so very addicting and a super quick and easy read. It was a big cycle of push/pull dynamic, a giant game of cat and mouse but l really enjoyed the way it played out. We got to go back and see how these two started and how their relationship initially developed which was heavily hinted at in book 1 and helps fill in some of those gaps as well as sets up the next couple which I am super excited for.
Broken Soul. Games Played. Hot Chemistry.
There’s line that connects Archer and Georgia…
Archer … so alpha but so broken… my heart bleeds for you but Archer… what you did to Georgia…. that’s on you.
Georgia so bold, self assured and determined
Miss Ferrell… I need more of Archer and Georgia
The Twisted Fox series is adding another great couple to the mix. Welcome Archer and Georgia.
Who would have thought that a one night stand would come back in the strangest place.
Georgia and Archer are both carrying so much family baggage. Archer lets his consume him while Georgia just is overwhelmed with heartache. A bar, two broken lonely people and one night.
Archer feels like he is unworthy for love and Georgia is a fixer.
When this one night turns into a working relationship things are about to get messy. They are now enemies because that it what Archer has made them and he will have to deal with the fall out.
I so enjoyed watching this couple grow, accept their problems and learn to move forward . I loved seeing our old friends and getting glimpse into their world.
This is a steamy, angst filled ride filled with great friends and family !

Wow!!! I was not prepared to the broken man known as Archer Callahan. The hurt he caused Georgia broke my heart. Like why? I did not understand especially because he seemed to really like her. Learning Archers truths definitely bring light to why he did what he did to Georgia. I just LOVED Georgia character. I love her strength, how she did not whither and hide. I love that she made Archer face her day in and day out. I love how when she realized what he truly meant to her she didn’t give up until she got the answers she needed. This book will definitely have you all up in your feels. The chemistry is HAF, the banter is hysterical but the words, they will win your heart. This series has me hooked!!! I can’t wait for Lincoln’s story.
A one night stand that meant something to her, but not to him, and now she and Archer aren’t exactly on friendly terms. And now he’s her brother’s business partner, so off-limits it is. Which shouldn’t be a problem considering she can’t stand the jackass, but…yeah. Attraction and chemistry are not something you choose, but rather are chosen for you. Georgia shouldn’t want him, doesn’t want to want him, but obviously her body isn’t on the same page as her mind. Will she walk away from this with her heart intact, or will Archer’s issues break her, break them?
Angsty af, emotional, steamy, and such a great read. I loved Georgia – she’s got such a big heart, is loyal and sweet, in complete opposite of character to Archer. Honestly, Archer drove me nuts. He had such a heartbreaking backstory that made his behavior cruel and cold, but once that story was revealed, understandable TO A POINT. I wanted to smack him throughout most of the story, as his cruel behavior deliberately hurt sweet Georgia, and even though I understood why he was the way he was, it did not make me want to smack him any less. As I said, though, I loved Georgia, and I loved this story. I had wanted it since reading about these two in Stirred, and the wait was more than worth it.
I loved this book! Archer and Georgia were everything! We knew from the first book that something was going on between them, and Charity delivered. Enemies to lovers is my favorite trope! Archer is so broken. It’s easy to hate him, but it’s so easy to love him just as much. Georgia is a fighter. She just wants to love him and make him love her back. They’re just perfect together. Such a great story!
Shaken is the second book in the Twisted Fox series. I was privileged to get in on Stirred book one, so I already knew the characters’ cast. I also learned from Stirred there was deep animosity going between Archer and Georgia. It was tough waiting for the second book to get their story.
Archer has baggage. Vast amounts of self-recriminations, guilt, and anger that he holds on to because honestly, it’s familiar. I believe people often hold on to even negative emotions because they are more familiar than the unknown of getting better. Georgia is the one person who pokes the bear, so to speak, and makes Archer want to step out of his darkness. How Archer gets past his fears to love Georgia is an emotional tale the author handles with honesty and pathos.
What is vaguely in this book’s background, which I loved, is this story does not happen quickly. The relationship between Archer and Georgia takes years. We don’t notice as we are gliding through their account. However, if you see, Georgia is still in college at the beginning and about two-thirds through the books, she gets her Masters of Social Work. This effort to take the time for them to grow and get to know each other deeply only adds to the love story’s genuineness.
Shaken, just like Stirred, pulled out all the stops going for the feels. The men in these books feel deeply and are not afraid to show their emotions to their lady loves. The cast of characters that I am still getting to know is revealing more and more of their stories that I eagerly await the next installment in the Twisted Fox series.
Georgia and Archer’s story starts with a one night stand where he just up and left her, thinking they won’t see each other again was the first mistake when Georgia finds out he’s her brothers business partner and they are about to seeing a lot more of each other. Archer was so hot and cold I couldn’t keep up but in the few vulnerable times you can see a really sweet guy peaking through which kept giving Georgia mixed messages. Good story
This is the second book in the twisted fox series & a stand-alone. Even though I haven’t read the first story. I still enjoyed this book . I wish I had read the first book as well. This book has all the feels and the angst , it could be put in a second chance love story category but it’s so much more . The story was captivating and quite emotional at times . I loved Archer and Georgia characters. Their story kept me captivated and turning the pages. Both of them have been thought a lot but where Georgia is all happy and has a quite sunny personality. Archer is quite and has a mysterious persona. From the first moment these two meet which was quite cute these two keep on running into each other . The chemistry between them is quite strong but Archer keeps on pushing away . The story is heartwarming and at times heartbreaking. It’s thought provoking at times . We shouldn’t let our emotions and anger rule us . Something by the time we realize it’s too late and we are only left with guilt. My heart broke for Archer for what he was growing through. It’s a very well written and beautiful story with well developed characters. I devoured this story & can’t wait to go back read the first book in the series and for the next book In this series.
I really wanted to read Archer and Georgia’s story. Throughout Stirred we got glimpses of both of them and I really was excited to read about them, so when the opportunity came up to read an early copy of their story I immediately signed up.
I was not disappointed. I knew I would fall in love with them. And I have to say they might be my favorite couple of the Twisted Fox world. Ms. Ferrell captures you from the beginning and gives you all the feels. This is an absolute must read!! LOVED IT!!
