A see yourself out note isn’t how you want to celebrate the morning after your first one-night stand. The first time I meet Archer Callahan is when I block him in a parking spot. The second is a fender bender. The third is at a bar, drinking away our problems, and finding our way to his bed.I never expected to see him again. That changes when a month later, he’s introduced as my brother’s new … introduced as my brother’s new business partner.
In need of a job, I’m hired at their bar, much to Archer’s dismay.
We hate each other.
We’re off-limits.
But every time we’re together, flashbacks of that night shake through us.
We push, we pull, until one of us breaks.

Enjoyable! I’ve volunteered to review this book for United Indie Book Blog. Shaken is the second book in the Twisted Fox series. This is Archer and Georgia’s story. Archer was the brooding, broken hero who didn’t talk just for the sake of talking. Georgia is a spunky, sweet, and caring, who have no choice but to root for her. The chemistry is incredible and reads off the page really well. The story is heartwarming and at times heartbreaking. I loved the banter between Archer and Georgia. They knew exactly which buttons to push on each other. If you love reading about a slow-burn story then Shaken is the perfect one. Keep up the awesome work! Can’t wait to read more from this series. Highly recommend.
I’ve been not so patiently awaiting for this baby to hit my kindle, and as soon as they did I dropped everything so I could immerse myself in all of these beautiful characters. A few hours later, I can honestly say that this is Charity’s best book to date!!
If you’ve read Stirred, then you know that Archer and Georgia had one heck of a story coming our way, and holy crap it’s absolutely everything. A brothers best friend, enemies to lovers with so much angst? YES.
So Archer and Georgia had a one night stand years ago (after some hilarious run-ins with one another) they were drowning their respective troubles with whiskey, and what Georgia thought was a true connection, turned out to not be. And when Archer finds out that the woman who he can’t stop thinking of is his new business partners younger sister, he knows he needs to step back. My poor Archer is dealing with some *heavy* emotional trauma that he refuses to work through, and believes that he’s no good for anyone, and thinks that by being cruel he’ll save G the heartache in the long run..(men are idiots) but if course that just brings her even more pain.. And even though I understood to a point where Archer was coming from, I just wanted to smack him. Repeatedly. In the face. With a chair. But I still loved him so much.
And when they were finally together, no bs? PERFECTION. This is my absolute FAVORITE couple this author has ever written!! I was so in my feelings with every page, the heat between G and Archer is so palpable and intense, and the obvious love they have for one another is just everything. Plus that ending was so adorable!!
I can’t wait for more in this series!!! We’re introduced to Archers brother who just got out of prison (his story is next — and you get to meet his love interest too, and trust me, she’s a spitfire!!) Plus a certain best friends who are DEFINITELY in love with one another.. gah, I am just so obsessed with this series!! Go read this book as SOON as you can!!
**I received an ARC of this book and these are my honest opinions!**
Charity Ferrel does it again.
Archer and Georgia finds their way in to bed together and Georgia doesn’t think they will meet again, but everything changes when she needs a job and Archer becomes partner with Georgia’s brother.
Georgia is a lot of fun, carrying and sassy, I really loved her character, and Archer is broken, and that is what stops his relationship with Georgia..
This is a enemies to lovers book, and the second one in the twisted fox series. I absolutely loved the book and you will not be disappointed when YOU read it!!!
I have been waiting for this since I finished Stirred. The tension between Archer and Grievous as secondary characters had me craving for their story. As usual, Charity Ferrell did not disappoint.
After a one night stand with a man that aggravates Georgia to no end, she’s left with a note to see her way out.
Then she meets him again when he’s introduced as he brother’s partner for the bar he’s opening. Archer doesn’t want anything to do with Georgia and keeps pushing her away. Even though her mind tells her he’s not worth it, her heart just won’t listen.
The tension, the angst, the one liners are everything you would expect in an enemies to lovers story but its the pain and anguish felt by both characters that made this story its own and gives it that push that makes it stand out and a five star, memorable read.
So this is book 2 in the Twisted Fox series.. and I loved this book to pieces. <3 I really love Charity Ferrell’s writing and I have told her several times that I love that she uses my home state in her books.. I just wish these places were real so I could go and visit. It was no surprise that I LOVED reading Georgia and Archer’s story. We got to meet both Archer and Georgia in Stirred, and that combo was dynamic and I was waiting for that bomb to explode.... and let me tell you she did not disappoint!! I just could not wait to see where Charity took us and let me say I loved every thing about this story!
Archer is dark and broody and has some serious demons brewing deep down inside him.. and Georgia is the complete opposite! She may have had some issues with people in her life but she trys not to let that get her down.. she is funny, bubbly, full of life.. and i want to be besties with her..
I just loved the push and pull and back and forth between Archer and Georgia.. The chemistry was scorching.. Thank you for the amazing read!
I love Archer and Georgia! Charity Ferrell knows how to have me hanging on the edge of my seat. Shaken was an anticipated read for me. I’ve been dying for more of him since Stirred. There was just something about him, and I needed more. Well, Ferrell did not disappoint.
From start to finish I loved everything about this book. These two almost instantly hated each other and for no real reason other than their attraction to one another. Archer has his demons and he doesn’t deal with them well. His first reaction is to run. But as you dive into each layer that is Archer you really start to understand him. Georgia was the perfect balance to Archer. She’s smart, sassy, fun and appears to have her life together. However she comes with her own set of issues. Her abandonment issues don’t work well with Archer’s reaction to run.
Oh the angst. These two had me on the edge of my chair. They were frustrating and fantastic. They were beautifully broken and meant to be together. Sometimes we just need to find another broken piece to fit into ours. Shaken is a reminder that maybe all things happen for a reason. That car that hit you when you were stopped might just bring your future.
Charity Ferrell does an amazing job with Shaken. She delivered this fantastic plot with amazing characters and beautiful writing. I was captivated and needed more with each page I turned.
Shaken is a 5 star, must read from Charity Ferrell.
I was excited to read Georgia and Archer’s story especially after how Stirred ended. I figured Shaken would jump in right there but it didn’t. It took us two years ago to when Archer and Georgia first met. While it was nice to see everything that led up to the animosity between the two of them, it was a distraction. I was so focused on when the story would get back to where Stirred left off that I wasn’t as interested in their backstory as I probably would have been if the end of Stirred hadn’t happened ended where it did. The back and forth between Georgia and Archer was so exhausting and I guess I didn’t enjoy how he kept pushing her away only to be possessive when another guy tried to talk to her or confide in her after telling her he didn’t want to be with her. The same goes for Georgia. At times I just wanted both of them move on until they were ready to be together.
I really enjoyed and liked both of the main characters. Archer was the brooding, broken hero who didn’t talk just for the sake of talking. His brokenness and guilt are what kept him and Georgia apart for so long. I liked how much he cared for the people in his circle but hated seeing him hurt Georgia over and over again just so that he didn’t end up disappointing breaking her later (but little did he know, he’d already done that many times over). Oh, and I disliked Archer’s father for what he did and said to him. No parent should ever do that to their child.
Georgia was a spunky, sweet, caring heroine who had such a big heart you had no choice but to root for her. She loved hard which meant she got hurt sometimes. I felt every slight against her and wanted her to be happy. Since she wanted Archer, I wanted him to get his act together and stop hurting her. She was a fun character to read and I loved her interactions with Archer when she was trying to get under his skin.
I also loved seeing Noah, Cohen, and Jamie and learning more about Lola, Grace, Silas, and Finn. Their friend group was funny and so supportive too. I enjoyed the subplots for Archer and Georgia as well with their families. They each had some demons in their past that they needed to deal with which they did eventually. Lincoln and Cassidy were fun to see towards the end of the story. I’m excited to read their book and the rest of the Twisted Fox crew!
Very handsome Archer is one very rich dude. Very beautiful Georgia has no money. She is a university student. A parking lot. Spilled coffee. An accident. Him again, her again. A bbq. Her brother, his friend. A new business between friends. A one-night stand. Obsession. It cannot happen again. On and off. What on earth will happen between these two? Loved it.
It’s going to be hard to review this without any spoilers as it’s the reason I enjoyed the story which also frustrated me at times.
Archer is a man with so much complicated feelings of guilt and self-loathing. Georgia is strong willed and determined about what she wants (which included Archer), so much so, at times I felt it was a detriment to her own emotional well-being. Their chemistry is definitely hot but for more than three quarters of the book, their relationship felt too angsty and toxic. At times, it felt that they would be better off apart (even for a while) to sort out their emotions. Archer probably needs professional counselling with all the chaos in his mind and tangled negative emotions, but that doesn’t happen.
It’s a pretty long story, and whilst it felt drawn out at times, it also made sense that their relationship needed to play out. The other characters also made it engaging to read but I would have liked to see Georgia’s character develop more and became her own successful person outside of the relationship. But overall it was an interesting read and I will check out the other books in the series.
Georgia and Archer’s story was heartbreaking. Archer has been hurt and has closed himself off from everyone. Georgia has been hurt but still sees the good in others. Their story is years in the making but once Archer stops hiding his true feelings and stops running, they get their HEA.
I found this ARC in my Kindle docs and decided to read it this is the first book of Charity I have read and I enjoyed reading this story since this is book 2 in this series I am going to read the 1st book soon. I recommend this book and author !!!!
Cohen and his good friend decide to open a bar together the Twisted Fox. In the meantime, his sister Georgia is going to college and working she gets into an altercation with a handsome man in front of her favorite coffee shop he is the meanest man she has ever come across but she happens to waste coffee on his shirt when she tripped going to her car and he goes off they go their separate ways and then one rainy day she meets the same man again when he hits her from behind and tells her to call the number on the card he gives her and her car will be taken care of. Georgia is feeling something for this man even though she is not sure why. The name on the card said, Chase Smith. Chase’s life is not what it seems his pain is his life his father has seen to that. Things continue to bring them together and not always in a good way. Georgia is shocked to find out who her brother’s partner is. Drama, mystery, rejection, jealously, love. A very interesting storyline for the characters. I read an ARC via BookFunnel without obligation. I volunteered an honest review.
A great, slow-burn, enemies to lovers book with plenty of ups and downs in Georgia and Archer’s journey to their HEA. And it is a fulfilling journey in that it takes time, with steps forward and then back. This is mostly due to Archer’s closed off heart and determination to push Georgia away. But who couldn’t resist this lovely, big hearted woman with issues of her own, but who is still open to emotions?
This second visit to the Twisted Fox world has been most welcome and I look forward to more!
“Love is when you want to wake up every single day and prove to the other person that you’ll work on being a better person than you were the day before–a better love, a better friend.”
This is the 2nd book in the Twisted Fox series and I am absolutely hooked! I have become an instant Charity Ferrell fan. An enemies to lovers book done right! Georgia is Cohen’s brother, and Archer is his business partner. The first book ends with an encounter between the MC and this book goes back a year or so. Their first few meetings are entirely hatred based, then comes the ONS and a year later they are working together with even more animosity between them. I became obsessed with Georgia in Stirred and she was the same strong, loving woman. I was a little sad to see less interactions with her and Jamie but her friendships with all her friends just showed how kind hearted she is. Archer is a broken man who has experienced so much pain that he felt he didn’t deserve love or anyone like Georgia but he occasionally lets his walls down and shows his heart. Their love story was a slow burn that takes you on a long ride with many things happening, I didn’t want to ever put the book down. Georgie tries to move on, get over Archer, but it destroys him to think of her with another man and slowly he let’s Georgia in. Their love story wasn’t perfect, but it was perfectly imperfect.
One thing I didn’t understand was Georgia’s brother’s reaction to the relationship. At the end of Stirred, he hears about them sleeping together and is furious. Then Shaken continues and after that happens he is okay with their relationship.
Archer Callahan has been such a mystery from Day 1 and we finally learn what makes him tick. I was not prepared for the many depths that is Archer. The chemistry between Archer and Georgia is off the charts from the first meeting. Fate keeps bringing them together. I want to be a patron at Twisted Fox because the banter within this group is so real that you are begging to be included.
While this book can be read as a standalone, I suggest reading Stirred while waiting for Shaken to be released to learn the dynamics of this group… plus why wouldn’t you want to read more of Charity’s words.
This book was amazing. These two had so much passion and chemistry. I could not turn the pages fast enough. The writing was amazing.
If you like angst, then you will love this one! Charity Farrell is a new author to me, but after reading the blurb, I couldn’t wait to dive in.
From the very first page, the tension between Georgia and Archer was overflowing. One moment they were arguing, the next they were in bed together. There wasn’t a lot of in between. Both characters irritated me, though Georgia less so. She has a big personality and a strong sense of loyalty to her family and friends. She was certainly never one to back down, and I enjoyed seeing her standing up to the guys at the bar.
Archer, I couldn’t warm up to. He was constantly giving me whiplash with his rude, heartless behaviour. His family situation was the whole reason he acted the way he did, but we didn’t learn why this was until very late in the book, at which stage, he was irredeemable to me sadly. For a man of his age, he acted petulantly and immaturely.
I spent a lot of time wanting to shake both characters numerous, it seemed both were determined not to give in to the other, there was too much running away and avoiding feelings, that they never got their act together. That happened way too many times for my liking, within a story that spanned a large time frame. For most of the book, I didn’t know if I actually wanted them to be together.
Charity did well in wrapping up the story, working through some of the major dislikes I had with both characters, but by the time it happened, I had pretty much given up on them. I loved the supporting characters in this book, thankfully they brought comedy to the story. I adored Cohen and how protective he was of Georgia, and I definitely can’t wait for more Lincoln.
Not a book I would reread, but I’m glad I gave it a chance, I prefer a lower angst story, with characters who have it together before the 50% mark, but I would recommend this one if you like the opposite of me.
Definitely twisted! The struggle! Archer just couldn’t forgive himself! But once he did, He was able to seal the deal with Georgia! Charity Ferrell takes you on an emotional journey filled with bantering, tragedy and self forgiveness ! Awesome story!
This series keeps getting better! After Archer and Georgia spend a night together as strangers, and shortly after find out they are linked in more ways than the one night. Archer co-owns a bar with Georgia’s brother, and when she starts working there after getting laid off, it makes things difficult for Archer. From the beginning of the book I was dying to find out what made Archer not want to be involved with anyone and what was the pivotal moment in his life, and thankfully Georgia didn’t take no for an answer and kept on him until he finally wore down. This couple was one I found myself rooting for constantly, and I was so happy they got their HEA together! They are somewhat opposites, with Archer being very standoff-ish and Georgia being very sweet, and it really works for them in the chemistry department. I can’t wait for the next installment to see this group of friends find their HEA while also getting the connection from Charity’s previous series!
I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
This story will shake up your emotions and have you hanging on every word. These two are an accident waiting to happen and I couldn’t get enough of this fiery couple. Archer is a broken man with a damaged hart. He is full of darkness because of the mistakes he made, but he is such a lover/fighter who keeps getting in the way of his own happiness. His sweet and vulnerable side made me fall for him. Georgia is sassy and confident and I love how she lights up every room. She is so passionate and loving and has such a beautiful heart. The banter between these two made me crazy just as much as it made me enjoy the chase. The heartache and pain broke me, but the joy, compassion and steamy scenes made every moment worth it. You need to read this book for the coffee, the parking spot, the fender bender, the notes, the necklace and the friends alone. Shaken is an enemies to lovers story that is as gut wrenching as is it heartwarming and these two were destined for forever love!
