There are a million reasons why I need to stop thinking about Taylor D’Angelo naked. She’s too young for me, for starters. She’s too ambitious. She’s my job.Romance was the last thing on my mind when I agreed to look into her stalker as a favor. Now, she’s all I can think about–and in every position I can imagine.I’m not the only one obsessing. The threats against her are intensifying along with our … obsessing.
The threats against her are intensifying along with our connection.
If I give in, if I let our bodies take over, it could draw her stalker out.
Our passion could save her.
Or it could destroy us both.
Meet Mr. August – He’ll do anything to protect her.

This is the best one of the series yet. I could not put this one down. Every page was filled with great characters, believable dialogue, intriguing plot and passion that leaps off the pages. Landon and Taylor instantly click and they have become my favorite couple in the entire series. I absolutely recommend this book and the entire series.

Thoughts: Love me some chocolate!! Landon is more than welcome to visit my fantasies any day! Any man willing to spend his time off protecting me and wanting me so badly in every way can invade my reality, but definitely imagination, any day. The devotion and need that Landon showed Taylor just had me swooning all over the place. But then I love characters that chase the trust and not just the body. And Taylor’s story was interesting to learn, no wonder she wanted to run. Landon just slipped into first place for me, but that could change again before this series ends. And I am loving it!
Please note that I received a complimentary copy of this work and chose to write a review.
Landon and Taylor’s story was a little bit different since there was a little bit of suspense going on. Taylor is running from something and Landon will be the man to keep her safe. They met through The Fix when Taylor bumped into Landon and they both felt the connection.
This once again is a novella in the Man of the Month series. We get to briefly see some of our past couples and see how Taylor and Landon end up together. And of course how they get Landon on the stage for man of the month. The story was good. I was hoping for a little bit more of a climax, but it was still well told. Such a fun series. I love to see how it’s all starting to head to the wrap up.
This is one of my favorites from the Man of the Month, at least so far. Landon was such a good guy and Taylor a strong woman, especially considering their backgrounds. Their connection was real and the sex was hot. When you don’t have a lot of time to read, this series fits the bill.
When I started reading I couldn’t put it down I read the book in one day.J Kenner is magnifysent writer..I cannot wait to read more of this books.Keep up the great work. You should definitely read this book.
Final Score – 4 Stars!
Taylor is being stalked, but she doesn’t know by whom. The threats are increasing and she knows she has to seek help. She turns to Brent, the head of security at The Fix, for help. Since Brent isn’t a cop any longer, he enlists Landon, a police officer, to help on the case.
Landon has been enamored by Taylor … and the feeling is quite mutual. However, a bad former relationship and the fact that he thinks she is too young for him, prevents him from acting on any feelings. Close quarters and chemistry combine and poof – sexy times ensue!
These Man of the Month books … is it just me or does the hot factor kick up a notch the further along we go? Don’t miss out on this book, as it definitely can be read as a standalone.
Oh Landon. Once again, J Kenner gives us a swoon worthy man who is completely alpha that wants to take care of the woman who he has strong feelings for! Taylor has such a tortured past that she just can’t seem to get away from. But Landon does what he can to keep her safe. While they are together, you can feel that pull they have to each other. While they try to fight it, it didn’t last because when you find that one, you just can’t stop. This is a beautiful story of instalove as The Fix gets themselves Mr. August. Their banter is witty and the passion is so hot that I found I devoured this one. This one is a great addition to the Man of the Month series. I am very much looking forward to the next one as Easton has intrigued me from the start!
Just when you thought Man of the Month couldn’t get any better, Landon and Taylor’s arrive.
Wow!! Landon is a man every woman would want, strong, gorgeous and a cop. Taylor is a woman who has gone through a lot and came up strong. You cannot help being pulled into their story from the moment you start.
A FANTASTIC story you will not want to put down.
Shake It Up by J. Kenner
5 Stars
“If I give in, if I let our bodies take over, it could draw her stalker out. Our passion could save her. Or it could destroy us both.”
I love the Man of the Month Series and can’t wait for each book to release, but I don’t want it to end! I love the friendships, struggles, support, push and pull and even the hardships. Everyone is starting to feel like home. I will be sad when December has released only because the series will be over.
Mr. August will have you hoping for your own crisis so he can step in and protect you. He is sexy, alpha, compassionate and a tad bit protective.
“He’d found her. Somehow, he’d found her.
She thought about starting over. About the logistics of finding a safe place to hide. About being alone without her friends. Without a job. With absolutely nothing except her wits.”
She has relied on herself for so long she doesn’t know when to trust, accept the help from a friend or follow her gut. She is too busy looking over her shoulder, hiding or starting over.
“how could she tell him that her greatest fear was that once he knew the truth about her, he’d no longer want her anymore?”
Looking forward to All Night Long, book 9 in the Man of the Month series!
Landon and Taylor’s story reads like a romantic mystery suspense. We finally learn the truth about Taylor and why she’s skittish in all the previous books. Landon must overcome hang-ups from his past to try to move forward with a new romance. Their stories are similar, but can they overcome their pasts to move forward with their future?
Alright, I feel like we’re getting back on track with this series. I felt like Book 7, In Your Eyes, was lacking and I think it might have been due to the timespan of the book and its short length. Whereas the last book took place over a year, this book takes place over a couple weeks.
Taylor’s got a stalker and Detective Landon Ware steps in as a “favor”. While Landon is older than Taylor this is hardly May-December romance. While there is chemistry between the two, the sexy times aren’t very steamy, hence the four star rating. The development of their relationship lacked some building blocks due to the short time frame. These two don’t have that “tear apart” moment I’ve mentioned before, but they both come with their respective baggage.
If you’ve been reading the series, you’re most likely invested in Reece, Cam, Nolan, Tyree, Parker, Easton, Griffin, and Brent. Spencer’s story was part of the building blocks of the series. Derek and Landon, (and mostly likely Matthew) are just the wild cards, the hotties for ladies we’ve become invested in from the previous books. Their stories aren’t meant to be game changers to the series, just some filling to progress the story line.
GAH!! I love every book in this series! I love that each is a standalone, but you do get so much more out of the series when you read them all. Shake It Up is Landon and Taylor’s story and I am in LOVE! This may be my newest favorite of the series! I was not able to put it down until I finished it! HUGE FIVE STARS for the newest addition to the Man of the Month series!
5 Star Review Shake It Up (Man of the Month #8) by J Kenner
This is the eight book in the series and is Taylor and Landon’s story. Shake It Up is a fun quick story which was extremely well written and a great read.
Every time I read the books in this series, I don’t think that it can beat the previous ones but this one has. Landon makes me swoon, not only is he a detective with a heart of gold, he is everything that I love in a hero.
Taylor is in trouble, her past has finally caught up with her and now not only is she in danger but those that she has come to care for are as well. This book had it all, smoking scenes and intense heat between the characters as well as drama, suspense and intrigue.
Landon has been interested in Taylor since he first saw her and the attraction is mutual. When danger rears it’s ugly head, Landon steps in to protect her. Can Landon keep Taylor safe? Or will her past finally catch up with Taylor and destroy the happiness she has found with Landon and her friends at The Fix. One click now and find out.
The books in this series can easily be read as stand alone, but since they are not that long and a quick and easy read I would recommend you one click them all. I am excited to see what happens in the next book; bring on Mr. September.
Another 5 Star read in The brilliant Man of the Month Series and I have to say this is for me the best so far, problem is every new release seems to be better than the last so I’m sure this won’t be the last time I say this. Book 8 is Taylor and Landon’s story and as with every book in the series it can be read as a stand-alone. Shake it Up has a lot going for it, it’s a face paced read with a lot going on to keep you on the edge of your seat and It also has a bit more mystery to it than previous books in the series.
Taylor has always been the life and sole if the party at The Fix but in this book we see a much more serious side to this fun loving gal, she has a past she is desperate to hide but when the past comes back to haunt her she has no option but to open up to police officer Landon and her other friends at The Fix. Landon now has the perfect opportunity to show the girl who sets his heart beating a little bit faster that he is the one to protect and take care of her. J.Kenner is doing a brilliant job with this series and I really can’t wai for Mr September.
I gotta say, when an author shoot out a series of books so quickly in a short amount of time, you half expect there to be some short comings with the books given they are being released in such a close proximity of each other. But, this series is compelely blowing that exceptation out of the water. With each book release in this fun series, I like it even more. Taylor and Landon are really an unlikely couple, he’s ten years older than she is, Taylor is still in school and aspiring to be in the film industry once she graduates. Landon is an established officer with the APD, and has already experienced a failed marriage, so the last thing he needs or wants is relationship with a much younger woman like Taylor. Even though this is a very fast paced relationship in this story, it really works for me. Has everything you could want, mystery, suspense, romance, and definitely the thing we expect from a JKenner book, hot steamy love scenes that set you on fire. Very well worth the read.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC copy of this book
Another sexy ‘Man of the Month,’ this one carries a badge. Taylor finds herself in trouble, she seems to have a stalker but her worst fear is that this is someone from her past that has found her. She has deep secrets that she has never shared with her friends in Austin. She enlists Brent’s help who pulls in Landon, the sexy police officer that grabs Taylor’s attention every time he is at The Fix. Landon is happy to help Taylor with her stalker however, he’s not sure he can keep his distance even though he doesn’t believe in relationships. As they unravel the mystery, will they unravel their hearts too? I voluntarily read an ARC of this book and this is my honest review.
SHAKE IT UP by J. Kenner this is book 8 in the Man of the Month series. This is the story of Landon and Taylor. I have read the previous book in this series and you can easily make this a standalone book….but you will enjoy it more if you read them in order I think.
Taylor has a stalker and she thought she was in the clear with her new life but he has found her and is stalking her again. Landon works for the police force but is on a three week vacation and he is asked by his friend to help protect Taylor. Landon felt something for Taylor the fist time she ran into him…so he is all about protecting her. But she is a lot younger than him so he has put his feeling on hold until now. Taylor too has felt a connection with Landon from the start but with her past coming back can she have a future?
Really enjoyed their story!!
He isn’t interested in a relationship, his job and the lifestyle that goes with it just doesn’t make it a priority. Plus been there done that got the divorce papers to prove it. Besides she’s too young for him. This author gives us another steamy read for the men of the month. This time we get some suspense to go with it when someone decides to target his woman.
Great addition to the man of the month club. Awesome idea and loads of fun and entertainment from the books and the regulars. They’re loyal and good friends and that makes it all worth while.
SHAKE IT UP is the eighth instalment in J. Kenner’s contemporary, adult MAN OF THE MONTH erotic, romance novella series focusing on a fund raiser for the popular Austin, Texas bar known as The Fix. This is thirty-six year old, police detective Landon Ware, and twenty-four year old work-study university student Taylor D’Angelo’s story line. SHAKE IT UP can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary although I recommend reading the series in order for backstory and cohesion.
SOME BACKGROUND: The Fix on Sixth, a local Austin hangout and bar, is in desperate need of renovations and a quick influx of cash so a plan is put into motion, by a group of regulars, a plan that includes a Man of the Month calendar competition, a recipe book, and a reality show aimed at rehabbing the bar.
NOTE: SHAKE IT UP is a bit of a departure from the series in that most of the events and story line are not directly connected to the Man of the Month competition and celebrations but focuses on the threats against, and protection of, our story line heroine.
Told from dual third person perspectives (Taylor and Landon) SHAKE IT UP picks up shortly after the events of book seven TURN ME ON. Working on her Master’s Degree in film study Taylor D’Angelo finds herself a part of the promotional crew at The Fix on Sixth. A recent spate of barely veiled threats against our story line heroine forces Taylor to reveal a potential problem for the crew, their friends and family, and ultimately herself. Enter police detective Landon Ware, and the man with whom Taylor will fall in love. What ensues is the building relationship between Taylor and Landon, and the possible fall-out as the threats against Taylor become more personal and life-threatening.
SHAKE IT UP focuses on the search for a stalker. Taylor suspects the who and why but is reluctant to reveal the entire story. Landon struggles with his attraction to the woman he has chosen to protect, a woman who has starred in all of his fantasies since the first time they met.
The world building continues to follow the Man of the Month fund raising efforts for The Fix on Sixth but takes a back seat to the events of the past few story lines. The premise is intriguing and engaging; the romance is seductive and intense-there is a definite palpable sexual attraction between our leading couple. The characters are colorful, dynamic and charismatic. SHAKE IT UP is a fast paced, energetic and impassioned tale.
