This book was a very emotional read for me. I could identify with the main character quite a bit. This is not a romance novel. It deals with real and gritty issues…infertility, betrayal, infidelity. There was no neatly wrapped up happy ever after either, though I must say that I was satisfied with the ending and rooting for the two main female characters who had both been betrayed but came out stronger in spite of it.
I really enjoyed this book because although it contains a love triangle, it is atypical in that there is an underlying Christian theme. I liked that New Beginnings, where Marissa worked, was a pregnancy center with the purpose of giving hope. I willl always remember the way that Marissa handled herself in the face of her husband’s betrayal. She had to climb a mountain to get there, but she is a good example of how we should behave when others betray us. It was important that Marissa and Kaitlyn have a strong friendship in order to make the story believable and also to introduce conflict and suspense. Colin was not a very sympathetic character, but he seems to be a typical man without Christian values, so he is clueless as to how to love his wife and save his marriage. All readers of romantic suspense will enjoy this wonderful story, and Christians should read it especially so that they can learn the valuable lessons that it teaches.

To me this story is a real life tragedy. It was a little hard to read because it brought back memories I prefer to forget about because things that happened to me was before salvation came to my home and marriage. It is definitely a lesson in forgiveness and hope for a better life. I feel that I can recommend it to others.
This is a wonderfully written faith- based story that sees the results of a marriage that has run into difficulty. It shows that regardless of faith people are still human and make mistakes that have lasting effects. In this story we see how difficulty having a child leads to a marriage to trouble and then adultery. This adultery doesn’t only affect the two women and the man it has a rippling effect as the other women becomes pregnant and only then finds out her lover is married. The author has done a brilliant job showing how faith can help those affected come to terms with the betrayal and ultimately love the child. I found this book easy to read and very intriguing. It’s a great story and well worth the read.
Life gets messy, and this book has infidelity, betrayal, and infertility. The two female main characters are so appealing, and stronger than they think. The main male character could use a punch in the nose. Keeps your attention throughout.
When the first thing you think when you finish a book is, “I hope there’s a sequel!” you know you’ve really enjoyed a story! Shadows of Hope was like that for me. I loved it. Each step of the way I stopped to think what would I do? How would I handle? Could I forgive? And a book that drives you to contemplate yourself in such a manner is a success in my eyes! I highly recommend that others take this journey as well. And please…let there be a sequel!!
Very interesting book to read since it was written from the perspective of each of the 3 main characters. This made it easy to relate and be sympathetic for each of them, want the best for each of them and … unable to predict the outcome. A book to make you think long after you finished it.
Wow
I won a copy of this book from Goodreads giveaways, I was not required to give a favorable review. This was an interesting story about mistakes in your life vs change everything.
Shadows of Hope is an emotional story with many twists that had me unsure of how it should end! The book is well-written. Marissa is infertile and learns her husband, Colin, is not only having an affair but that the girl is pregnant! Kaitlyn is a major character in the complicated triangle. Marissa works to be forgiving and to find God’s peace in her life. I recommend this book to others but be aware that it is not a sweet happily ever after! I won Shadows of Hope in a Goodreads giveaway. this is my honest opinion.
Loved this book –it was great –hated to put it down , and couldn’t wait to get back to it each time –hated for it to end. One part I didn’t like, was the three chapters spent in telling about the ball games in Chicago –could have left that out or at least condensed it into one chapter or less –for people that are sport fans, they might like lit –I don’t care about it very much and I kept thinking, I don’t want to read that, I want to get back to the main part of the story. That was the only thing I didn’t like –the rest was great. Dolores Youngblood
Very good read
good
Was interesting. The plot seemed unlikely but the author pulled it together so that it made sense.
Ended. Before you found out what happened to everyone
I enjoyed the book but thought the ending sort of stunk.
Great book, very realistic in its interpretations of the characters behaviors. A great book to show Gods love into even the tragedy’s of life
A preview only but definitely shows promise
I enjoyed this book, but I think that there should be a sequel. It left me hanging.
Great read!
The story kept me interested. I was hoping for a better ending, but it was realistic. I am a romantic and I didn’t want the book to end this way. Maybe there will be a sequel.
