William was cursed by Lark at Palmer’s command. No changes have appeared. His teeth are not lengthening like the other pirates and he can’t feel the hunger, but we know he was cursed. They, the Soaring Phoenix, are back in Tortuga to get supplies and try to find Lark’s sister, Mariah, to break the spell and save Lark from becoming an evil warlock. Her grandmother has told her and Kane that they will need Mariah and her magic to defeat the demon, Zuto. Surprisingly, William shifts into a dragon, eats a horse and flees town. Mariah and William are connected in a way nobody understands. None of the pirates like her or want her magic anywhere around. It’s even worse for her than it was for Hannah. Hannah and Ronan are her only allies. Not only is she having to prepare for her fight with the demon and try to help William learn control over his dragon, but she is in a constant fight with the pirates because she is a witch. I was so frustrated with all of those men, even Kane who should be a bit more understanding because of Hannah’s power. Mariah is strong, brave, very powerful and she has faith in her magic. William may be honorable and protective, but he has no faith in her or his dragon and just flat doesn’t listen to anybody. He thinks he’s doing right but he’s just being selfish and arrogant. I really love this series. I requested an advanced reader copy from Booksprout and am under no obligation to leave this review.
Shadows of The Vampire is the second book in the Blood Brotherhood Series. This is an exciting story with Mariah and William trying to work together to free the crew from the curse. The characters, both good and bad, are well developed. The storyline is original and very well written, engaging the reader from the first and keeping the interest until the end.
I read and reviewed a copy of this book with no obligation.
I didn’t read the first book in the series but was able to understand and follow along with what was going on. Shadows of the Vampire by M.L. Guida is a historical shifter romance between William and Mariah filled with love, lies, betrayal, magic, suspense, and action. I didn’t like how the crew were prejudice against Mariah because she was a witch so they were always trying to either kill or lock her up. Mariah couldn’t accomplish anything on her own and had to use sex magic with William that only worked if they both admitted they loved each other. I think I would’ve enjoyed this more had I read the first book and I am looking forward to reading the next book in the series.

This is the next book of this vampire series in which William, the brother of Kane O’Brien hero of the previous book, has been cursed by their enemy, not with the expected vampire bite but with the terrorizing form and uncontrollable temper of a powerful dragon. William will need the soothing ways of the good witch Mariah Fey and her seer grandmother as well as his vampire brother Kane and friends to defeat their enemies and fulfill their places within the prophecy. An entertaining, action packed storyline. A great way to pass the time reading this book.

Shadows of the Vampire by M. L. Guida is the second book in the Blood Brotherhood series. In this book, William O’Brien is cursed by the demon Zuto and Mariah’s brother Lark, they forced a curse on him which causes him to share his body with the dragon Drakon. Zuto, promises to reward Drakon with his own body back if he brings Hannah Knight and her father to him. To save the young witch Mariah and her brother Lark from becoming slaves to the demon Zuto, William, Mariah, Hannah, Kane, and his ships cursed vampire crew must work together to thwart Zuto and Natasa’s plans. They must make sure that good triumphs over evil and that no one who has been told to bring Hannah Knight and her father to Zuto is able to do so. This is a grand paranormal adventure on an epic scale, full of intrigue, magic, and suspense. In my opinion, this is the perfect read for lovers of paranormal romance. I loved this story because of the many different paranormal creatures and a wonderful plot that has lots of twists and turns. Shadows of the Vampire is an epic adventure tale where good must overcome evil.
