Shadows and Shade is a full-length Young Adult Why-Choose fantasy with a romantic subplot. “I was a beta reader for this and the next three books, so let me just tell you now, you’re going to be falling for Shade, you’re going to love the smart ass, independent, strong-willed character that she is and you’re going to need more and more of her and the guys!” ~ Tonya Thomas. Shade’s life is pretty …
Shade’s life is pretty ordinary as an indentured servant working in the isolated lands for Lord Martin, a master who is anything but kind. Until one day when the deliciously handsome Elorsin brothers arrive, save her life, and drag her into the forest from which only scary crap ever comes out of.
Commander Pax can’t deny that something about Shade calls to him.
Killian thinks a mere mortal won’t survive long in the world of the Silvari, a race that’s gifted with strength and powers that Shade has never seen before.
Roarke thinks she’s cute and would make a good pet.
But her biggest problem is Seth – who thinks she’s the perfect tool to help him play a prank on their enemies… without his commander knowing.
A prank which goes incredibly wrong, forcing them to learn to live with each other. Respect each other, value each other, and ultimately, love each other despite the well-known fact that mortal and Silvari pairings only end in one way – death.
Whilst battling the rules of their world and figuring out how Shade can fit into their warrior quartet, they must also survive the wicked ruler who’s slowly sucking the life from their realm, destroying the ruling hierarchy, and burning the magic from their protective borders.
Let’s not forget Seth’s crazy stalker ex-girlfriend who’s trying to eliminate her competition – Shade. What match is a mortal against an Elite warrior who will stop at nothing to kill her?
In Shadows and Shade, book 1, Shade and her Elorsins need to stay alive long enough to get out of the White Castle and track down a Potion Master who just might be able to release them from the invisible force that constantly threatens to end Shade’s life.
This is a fantasy series with a slow-burn why-choose romance, meaning Shade will not have to pick between her men, and both the emotional and physical relationships take time to develop. While the relationships are extremely important, the content is also dedicated to creating a detailed world that is filled with characters who will grow, change, and work their way into readers’ hearts.
Books 1-3 will be categorized as YA, so there will be a limit to the graphic nature of any sexual content and no trigger warnings. Starting with book 4, the series will build to NA with the potential for sexual content and for a trigger warning. But they will remain true to the characters, and be a natural progression of their relationships. Currently, there is no mm or mmfmm content projected for this series.
There will be spin-off books, bonus material, extra chapters and a variety of content (some of which is very much adult) which will be available through the Facebook group and the authors other platforms. Check out her website, or her Facebook group, for more information.

This book sucks you in right away. Mc is fun and strong. The guys are all so different but work well together as a unit. I can’t wait to see where this story takes the readers.
The first title in the Shadows and Shade series is unforgettable! If you love your FMC with sass and a mouth that just won’t quit, you’re going to love this book. Shade’s life hasn’t been easy, but maybe in some ways it’s prepared her for the future that lies ahead. I’m sure she didn’t anticipate she was about to become the pet and toy of an elite Saber team… Or His… Sigh… There is horse manure, tacos, dishes to wash, cold showers to take, and lessons to learn (hysterical sigil lessons).
Be prepared for all the feels. There is world building. There are laughs at every turn. In fact, when I didn’t want to put it down last night, my DH begged me to stop snorting so he could sleep. You simply need this book on your shelf. I can’t wait to see what the future holds for the group in Shadows and Darkness, and I’m eager to go along for the ride.
I received an ARC in change for my honest review.
This book is well written, fun, a page turner, Adventurous, and will grab hold of you. You journey to a different world. You will love the courage of Shade and her men. This was a new author for me, and I will be looking for more of her work. I love the way she brought this other world into the story. She makes you fill as if you could reach out and touch leafy. You will have to read to meet leafy. While you are with Shade you will meet Pax, Roark, Killain, and Seith. Pluss some you will love to hate. Do your self a favor and read. Hope you enjoy
Supernatural and Mortal worlds collide in this book. Shade’s (the MFC) life has always been in service to the Lord who is brutal in his treatment of her until 4 men turn up – Pax, Killian, Roarke and Seth. They take her away from there but where they take her to is not exactly a better place to be. Shade struggles to find her way in a new world with new people as well as with the 4 guys to. I loved Shades sharp wit and some of her one-liners cracked me up. As well as her conversations with the guys. Such a fantastic read i raced through it in one day. Couldnt put it down
I received an ARC and loved this book so much! Most of the time spent reading I was giggling at the interactions between Shade and her men. The personalities of each character are strong enough that it is easy to tell who is who by dialogue only. It’s easy to see that the story was brought to life from the influence of Willa and her men. It also does not diminish or overshadow the story in any way. Amanda Cashure creates an intricate and exciting world that is full of promise. I can not wait to see how the story will unfold. The only thing I wish I had was some POV from the guys. I would LOVE a look at the world from Seth’s eyes.
A wonderfully exciting and intriguing story with characters that suck you in and make you want to never leave their world!
First time reading this author’s work and I am really glad that I have. I am really liking this book. I can’t wait for the next one.
What a story that is jammed packed with so much action, adventure, mystery, drama, and suspense. It is one that has humor that has you laughing out loud. Shade is an amazing character. She is feisty, strong, stubborn, loyal and one spectacular character. Her four men are all such alpha males that add so much to the story. Descriptions are vivid and easily able to be pictured. The wording is fantastic and so well developed. I can’t wait for the next one in the series. This is a must read!!!!!
I started reading and couldn’t put it down. Shade is a servant with an abusive master, but she does what she can to protect the other servants and herself. She suddenly finds herself in a whole new world, with four guys who don’t quite know what to make of her. Parts of this story reminded me of the Curse of the Gods series, which is one of my favorites. This is a slow burn, and I can’t wait to see how their relationships develop!
Wowzers! That was good. So good in fact that I couldn’t put the book down until I finished it! I love diving into an entirely new world and Ms. Cashure has created an amazing one. It’s always a little hard to jump into a world that you know nothing about, but Ms. Cashure is great at putting you in Shade’s shoes, who is also new to the magical elements of her world, and as such gives amazing descriptions. Shade, former slave, has just the perfect amount of sass to spice up this series. I laughed so hard at portions that I had to go to another room to keep from waking the hubby.
I really can’t wait to see what’s going to happen next. I’m ready for some more answers!
I love these books. I got sucked completely into their world and didn’t wanna return to mine. I laughed so much at different parts of these. They are hilarious and adventurous and so entertaining. Definitely a good read
Oh I so love these characters and the world they live in! Shade is a breath of fresh air who made me chuckle so many times both with her internal and not so internal dialogue, lol. I love the way the guys are so distinct that you can easily tell them apart and although they are very different you can see how they gel together. The idea behind the story is brilliant and I love how there is a backstory slowly revealed throughout the book, it makes the world feel solid and real and like I’m standing in the middle of it. I need more of these characters and their story and I need it now! Can I give more than 5 stars??? This is a great start to a new series.
Say hello to your new series infatuation!
Y’all… If you loved Curse of the Gods series this is totally your next obsession.
Shade it’s just trying to survive. Unfortunately, she’s a trouble magnet disguised as an indentured servant. Survival is more difficult than expected.
Forcefully rescued (insert sarcasm) by four men after they witness the Manor’s Lord form of punishment, Shade tumbles heads first into a world she thought myth.
Sabers are essentially god like beings with abilities. Their egos and entitled expectations are what you expect. Regrettably, subservient is not in Shade’s vocabulary.
In a last ditch effort to return to her magical free Soot life, Shade makes a deal. It leads to a prank with unexpected consequences. It will either save her life or damn it.
Teasers popped up all over the place for me about this book. It was frustrating as all get out to keep clicking and seeing it was still pre-order. The anticipation for this book was high and damn if the author didn’t surpass it.
I admit I was lost in the beginning. (Yet it was in a way that kept me going because I needed answers!) You kinda learn things as Shade does. While Sabers and their Seeds are myth and legend to Shade, she obviously doesn’t know much more than us as readers.
It’s fortunate its why choose because I sure couldn’t. This first book does an awesome job of setting the series up. You meet the characters and learn their world a bit.
The groundwork for the relationship is really well done. The pack mentality allows them to get close and get under each others skin without it seeming forced. Shade and her guys are still only feeling each other out in the beginning. That tension is definitely there though and building. I cannot wait to get my hands on the rest of this series.
I was provided an ARC for an honest review. (Double edged because it makes an even longer wait on book 2 for me!)
