Don’t miss Shadows, Dawson Black’s story in Jennifer L. Armentrout’s bestselling Lux series, now available as a standalone in print for the first time! “An unmissable series!” -Samantha Young, New York Times bestselling author of On Dublin Street “This is the stuff swoons are made of.” –Wendy Higgins, New York Times bestselling author of Sweet Evil The last thing Dawson Black expected was … of Sweet Evil
The last thing Dawson Black expected was Bethany Williams. As a Luxen, an alien life-form on Earth, human girls are…well, fun. But since the Luxen have to keep their true identities a secret, falling for one would be insane. Dangerous. Tempting. Undeniable.
Bethany can’t deny the immediate connection between her and Dawson. And even though boys aren’t a complication she wants, she can’t stay away from him. Still, whenever they lock eyes, she’s drawn in. Captivated. Lured. Loved.
Dawson is keeping a secret that will change her existence…and put her life in jeopardy. But even he can’t stop risking everything for one human girl. Or from a fate that is as unavoidable as love itself.

I highly recommend reading Obsidian before reading this one, as it’ll better prepare you for what you’re getting yourself in for. If I would’ve read this one first, I might not have had the courage to proceed with the rest of the series. I don’t want to give spoilers, just trust me, read that one first, then come and devour this one!
I love Armentrout, my teenage daughter loves this series

There is a different opinions on when this prequel novella should be read during the Lux Series. A lot of people feel like it should be read after Obsidian since it might be spoilery, however, I have to disagree. I …
Reading Shadows was eye-opening but very bittersweet. I loved reading about how Dawson met Bethany and how they fell in love. However it was really painful to see how no one supported their relationship besides Dee and Adam. It is sad to think that Dawson and Bethany were only sixteen years old when it all went to hell, there is something so …
(Reread Review)
Shadows is a prequel novella from the Lux Series.
This book is great to get an idea on how life was, for our favorite luxen, back in the day when Dawson was still with them and things were more simple.
I loved seeing the brotherhood banter between the triplets, they were so close!!!
Back when I first read the Lux series I read …
Will I like an alien book? I wasn’t so sure. Ok. Well now I am binge reading on this series too. This is the JLA effect.
Dawson and Bethany’s story. A beautiful full-length novel detailing the account of Dawson and Bethany’s meeting, whirlwind romance, and lastly, what really happened before they’re disappearance.
Short Review: I missed Daemon and Katy reading this. I really did. However, Dawson and Bethany’s such intense, immediate chemistry turned me into a …
