The author has continued the Jones’ Family saga with this heartwarming story. It is a story that runs the gamut of human emotions consisting of heartache, guilt, betrayal, love and forgiveness. This is Carter and Maggie’s story consisting of many twists and turns. Be sure to read this story to find out if the couple finds a HEA. I really enjoyed this story and highly recommend it. It is a real page turner so get a comfy chair, grab a few tissues and be prepared to enjoy this story.
Shadowing is the story of the next generation of Jones’. PJ and Ruth Ellen are running Jones Star Ranch and raising their 7 kids. They were having problems with the oldest that was involved with friends that had got into rustling. One was hung in town but that didn’t stop them from making plans for the next night. Carter over heard their plans and the local men was at the neighbor’s home and caught all 6 of Stephen friends that was rustling their cows. Stephen appeared but since no one seen him his investment was hidden. It was time for Stephen to leave as he was not going to be told what to do by PJ. Carter starts trying to take on more responsibilities as he grows up and finds way he can help the ranch to grow but, PJ still looks at Carter as Ma’s little helper. So when PJ decides all the hired hands and himself need a good trail drive to take the cattle to market instead of just driving them to the railroad she made PJ take Carter. She told PJ that the cattle drive was a bad idea, but PJ was fast to stop her worries. On the drive they are attacked by rustlers and PJ takes off after them and Carter finds him laying injured bleeding on the hill. CJ takes Pa home where he is unresponsive for the next 6 months. During this time CJ runs the ranch and it prospers. When PJ wakes up he finds out that CJ and Maggie are having their engagement party the following week as they have decided to get married that fall after Maggie turns 17. CJ has had their cabin added onto so that he could move in there and they would continue to raise her two younger sisters and still be close to the ranch. CJ knows his marriage was just the start of what all blessings God would continue to bless the Jones family with as long as they continued to follow God’s word.
