Danger inspires fierce passion when a serial killer threatens Chicago’s Ferraro crime family in this novel in Christine Feehan’s New York Times bestselling series.Vittorio Ferraro is a man whose family loyalty knows no bounds. He would die for his siblings and the people they love, but what he really wants is to start a family of his own. Grace Murphy has always been drawn to Vittorio Ferraro—or at least to the billionaire’s public bad-boy persona. Now that she’s under his protection and the sole focus of his intense caring, she can’t help wanting to get as close to him as possible. But Grace knows her presence is putting the entire Ferraro family in danger. Her monster of a brother will never let her go, but Vittorio has no intention of losing the woman whose shadow matches his own.
Praise for Shadow Keeper
“Shadow Keeper is, in a word, a keeper! If you love hot men, sexy women, the good guys winning against the bad guys, love (both sweet and ultra steamy), and family that stands together, then this book is all that and even more.”—Fresh Fiction

I like all her books.
Great read, did not want to stop reading it.
I always love her books. They keep your attention from front to end
This author can not write a book that lets you put it down to do anything other than just the basics until you have reached the end and are left wanting more.
I love Christine’s unique twist on the paranormal genre in the shadow series. Of course, I’m a HUGE fan of everything she writes!
I love this whole series!
Good read. Different twist with an unusual talent for the main hero. I will go back for another in the series.
Another great book by Christine Feehan. I couldn’t put it down, and I want to know what happens next for all of the characters. When is the next “shadow” book coming out and who will be the main characters of the story?
f possible this series just keeps getting better. It has everything. A gorgeous man who is dangerous, mysterious, dedicated to his family, and knows what he wants and goes after it. The minute Vittorio Ferraro set his eyes on Gracie he knew she was the one. Although their shadows came together proving she could be the one, it had nothing do do with that. She was a fiery redhead with a great sense of self, honest, beautiful, and speaks her mind. Vittorio takes control of her after she is hurt saving him, but trouble is brewing on different sides, and he needs to convince Gracie that he is her one and only. Such a great story, with all the Ferraros making appearances, there is family drama, war brewing, and other outside forces at work. Sexy times are amazing as is the entire book. The writing is fantastic, I can’t wait for the next book. There are some on going story lines that I am anxious to get back to.
Damn, yet another great series. Individual books are unique within the world she has set up!
Vittorio and Grace were wonderful. Lots of action and tons of steam. These shadow warriors all seem to be dominant and the women love it. I really enjoyed Grace and all she went through. Of course we have all of the family in the story and lots of love. Some surprises as the story evolves and it left me ready for another book. Loved it!!
Shadow Warrior, the fourth book in the Shadow Rider Series by Christine Feehan, had my heart beating in all different ways for all different reasons! This book grabs you from the very first page, actually the very first sentence, and it doesn’t let go.
Vittorio Ferraro has spent his life obligated to family and performing his duty of doling out justice while hiding behind a mask. He had two speeds, calm rational peacemaker, trying to control situations peacefully and if that couldn’t be achieved he erupted and made every blow count. He dreamed of finding someone to give him balance, to anchor him between these two extremes. When he finds Grace his heart unlocks, he finds someone who he can open up to, actually needs to open up to, and we begin to see there is so much more to Vittorio Ferraro, his masked personality emerges with her. He pulls out all the stops to win her love and to save her from the man who has tormented her most of her life.
Grace, who spent time growing up in the foster care system, some horrible, some good. But the most horrible was the Foster brother who latched on to the kindness she gave him, in his demented way protected her from the bad but also removed the good to keep her his. She had to control herself and everything in her life to protect herself and those she came across from him. Her control gave her the skills she needed for her career, but it also kept her from living. Then she meets Vittorio and she realizes how tired she is of being in control. How nice it is to surrender her fears, her care, to someone like him as her trust builds. He brings to her life the same balance, the same anchor, he wants in his life, the same ones Grace gives him. It’s Ms. Feehan’s amazing storytelling that shows this happening, this bond growing into a beautiful relationship.
Vittorio, the epitome of a dominant alpha Male, is a stark contrast to the psychopath who torments Grace threatening her through his control removing any relationship in her life. Vittorio wants to know her likes/ dislikes. Knows that the strength of a relationship, even a dominant submissive one is one of communication and trust, knowing and acting on what makes each other happy. Being brought into the Ferraro family this is more important than anything. The consequences are high if the trust is broken. I was truly amazed at how these two grew as individuals and as a couple.
The villain, Grace’s foster brother, is one of the most diabolical, bone-chilling, I’ve ever read. He is a threat to the entire Ferraro family. And the main reason I had to remind myself this is a romance there’s going to be a happy ending. And yes the Ferraros know how to rise to the occasion!
All while Vittorio and Grace’s story is being shared, I fell more in love with the Ferraro siblings and their bond. Happenings with the Saldis and in their territory let you know something is brewing and the family has threats to be aware of…and the reader to realize this Series has a lot to offer in coming books!
People often ask why I love any book by Christine Feehan, the truth simply is that her stories now and have always touched my heart.
Shadow Warrior grabbed me from the start and would not let go, as much as I don’t like to say a villain is a major character in this case the story would not be the same without him. Haydon is a villain that still has me checking windows and vents.
It is also a story that to me brings the age old question of Nature vs Nurture into play.
Grace Murphy was raised in foster homes being subjected to mental and physical abuse along with her “brother” Haydon. Grace overcomes her situation to become a productive member of society, truly caring and protecting those she cares about, to the extent that no one truly knows her. Haydon, on the other hand is a killer, who is out to destroy anyone who crosses him or who he sees as trying to take his place in Grace’s life. For years Grace has kept to herself, bailing Haydon out time after time. Finally she has reached her limit.
She has always watched Vittorio Ferraro from afar, never dreaming that one day she would be the one to make his life perfect.
Vittorio, the quiet one who the family depends on when things get tough, only wants to find that special woman that will unlock his heart and bring peace to his soul.
When he rescues Grace, spoiling her brothers attempted to sell her for his gambling debts, he realizes that she is the one. Watching Vittorio open himself up and become as vulnerable as Grace feels, is heartwarming and inspiring.
You definitely don’t want to miss the latest story in the Shadow series.Especially the Eloisa moments, will she become a character that I can at least respect? The answer to that question remains to be seen, Shadow Warrior will keep you on the edge of your seat from start to finish.
Shadow Warrior will draw you in from the first page! The story develops at the perfect pace, and you’ll fall in love with the Ferraro family before the book is through. Such a fascinating concept and amazing characters, I’m definitely going back to read the previous books in the Shadow Riders series!
4.5 stars–SHADOW WARRIOR is the fourth instalment in Christine Feehan’s contemporary, adult SHADOW paranormal, erotic romance series focusing on The Ferraro family- a group of ‘Shadow Riders’-who are able to ‘use and ride’ shadows, to move about in secret. This is Vittorio Ferraro, and events planner and business owner Grace Murphy’s story line. SHADOW WARRIOR can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary.
SOME BACKGROUND: The Shadow rider male must find his mate –a woman who is capable of riding the shadows-or at the very least with the ability to bear children with the shadow-riding gene. Within the family, the Ferraro siblings are tasked with finding a mate, fated by DNA, who is capable of continuing the family line. The Ferraro’s are also part of the Chicago Underworld-a crime family linked to both legal and criminal activity.
Told from dual third person perspectives (Vittorio and Grace) SHADOW WARRIOR follows in the wake of Grace Murphy’s abduction and her desperate attempts to protect the man with whom she would fall in love. Used as a bargaining chip for payment of a debt, Grace Murphy would find herself in a hostage situation but a gun fight at a local club owned by the Ferraro family finds our heroine placing herself in danger in order to prevent another death. Enter Vittorio Ferraro, a shadow rider and a member of the Ferraro Crime family, and the man with whom Grace would fall in love. What ensues is the building relationship and romance between Vittorio and Grace, and the potential fall-out as Grace’s past targets everyone she loves including our story line heroine.
Vittorio Ferraro knows Grace Murphy is his fated mate the instant their ‘shadows’ merge and entwine but Grace is unaware of her own family history having spent most of her life in an abusive foster care situation. Hoping to prove to Grace he is not the playboy of reputation and media stories, Vittorio plans a slow seduction of our story line heroine, a seduction that is hindered by family secrets, his mother’s attitude, and Grace’s need to recover and heal. The $ex scenes are intimate, erotic and intense, without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text. Unlike many of the author’s other series, this story line does not focus primarily on the $ex-in fact, our couple do not make love or engage in $ex until the 61% mark of the story.
Once again, there is a large ensemble cast of secondary and supporting characters including all of Vittorio’s siblings-Emmanuelle, Taviano, Stafano (Francesa), Giovanni (Sasha), Ricco (Marika) and their mother Eoisa Ferraro, as well as a number of cousins, all of whom are shadow riders, working as security, assassins, and business specialists. The requisite evil has many faces including Grace’s foster brother Haydon Phillips, and the Saldis crime family, who may or may not declare war against the Ferraro family.
SHADOW WARRIOR is a story of family, loyalty, secrets, power and control. The premise is intriguing, imaginative and entertaining; the characters are intelligent, energetic and colorful; the romance is spicy and hot. There were some issues of repetition but such is the style of Christine Feehan, repetition that she uses to reiterate some facts and information.
4.5 of 5 Stars
Christine Feehan’s SHADOW WARRIOR is a wonderful addition to the Shadow series. Grace Murphy has been betrayed by her foster brother. She takes a bullet for Vittorio Ferraro, who recognizes her as the woman whose shadow matches his own. Vittorio places Grace under his protection while Grace fears she exposed the Ferrero’s to a serial killer. This contemporary paranormal romance is suitable for adult readers. It takes place in Chicago.
I really enjoyed SHADOW WARRIOR. It is a creative and exciting story. It is skillfully written and entertaining. The characters are likable and well developed. I like Grace. She is loyal and intelligent. Vittorio is protective and fierce. The two have amazing chemistry. There are a lot of interesting things that take place in this story. It is full of mystery and suspense. I thought the rivalry between the Ferraro’s and the Saldi’s was intriguing. The serial killer aspect of the novel was gripping. Followers of the Shadow series will not be disappointed. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.
Shadow Warrior is a delightful read. It is interesting and exciting, heavily layered in passion and love. Strong ties of family and protection for one another is abundantly clear.
Grace Murphy has always liked Vittorio Ferraro, a Shadow Warrior, but she would never be in his life. Or could she? When she gets caught up in a kidnapping, Vittorio realizes Grace is who he has been missing in his life. Would she take a chance on him? What follows is a fast-paced story that kept me turning the pages.
There are a lot of sex scenes. Honestly, that much descriptive sex isn’t my jam, and I skipped them. There is a lot of repetition of what had already been written. If those had been deleted, the book would have been more concise.
With that being said, Christine Feehan always creates wonderful characters, exciting situations, and magnificent settings. I love how she can take these elements to make a brilliant story that is an enjoyable read. I always look forward to reading her books and have a hard time waiting for the next one to come out.
I received an ARC from Berkley Publishing Group via NetGalley for an honest review. My opinion of Shadow Warrior or the content is entirely my own.
