Can two broken people release their demons, open their hearts, and find lasting love?Petra’s strong, take-no-prisoners attitude is severely challenged when she’s abducted by aliens, destined to be sold as a sex slave. To escape, she needs the help of the most irritating, hunky alien male this side of the Milky Way. Their chemistry is off the charts despite the fact that Shadow can be an annoying … fact that Shadow can be an annoying dick.

This is the second book in a series, but it can be read as a stand alone. This book grabs you from the minute you start reading. Petra has been abducted and she does some wild things in order to be free. I wish I was as limber as she is. Shadow has been enslaved by his parents debt for over 15 years and has no hope even though he was freed by revolt a few weeks ago. He is surly, non-sociable, and no one likes him. He has robotic parts where he has lost his arm and his eye. Petra and Shadow have a connection and this is their story. I love these characters! The story is really entertaining, easy to read, and has a HEA. I would recommend it.
On book two and not disappointed at all.
I am SO glad I read Zar, when I finished I knew that I HAD to read Shadow as well! I don’t know which one was better, but I think I better get Tyree just to have a variety. Sometimes dark moments in our lives try to absorb our future, I’m so happy that they were there for each other, instead of turning away.
Hot, badass alien gladiator with issues meets up with a hot, badass human woman with issues for action, adventure, and majorly awesome sex! On their way to an HEA, they gain some personal insight, fall in lust, and eventually do the work to be able to fall in love. Deftly mixed into Shadow and Petra’s story is some snark, some laugh out loud humor, and interesting traveling companions who are clamoring for their stories to be told as well.
Book two in the Galaxy Gladiators Alien Abduction Romance Series a well written story that once I started I was not putting down so shall we say a very late night/early morning read. Shadow and Petra will have so much to overcome before they get their happy ending. I want to read the next book. I recommend this book. I read this book through KU and I am voluntarily reviewing it.
Totally transformed by love
What a beautiful romance!! Yes, it’s an old trope – two damaged people find each other and their love becomes their salvation – but Alana Khan’s SF version is so much more. All the characters in this story have inner pain and outer facades they use to hide it. Khan’s elegantly sensitive depiction of the unloved and unloveable beings who journey toward spiritual healing is inspiring. Rather than HEA the hero and heroine learn how to choose happiness, and keep affirming that choice. I shed a few tears, and finished the book feeling upbeat and hopeful.
*WARNING* contains adult situations
Shadow is the one everyone dislikes, the disfigured one, the one no one wants to be near. So why doesn’t this little human run?
Petra was kidnapped from her own home on Earth to be sold as a sex slave on an alien planet. When Petra spotted another human woman walking with 2 male aliens, she thought she might have a chance at being saved.
What a great story. I really like how the gradual change happens with Petra. I adore the end up with the Shadow character. It’s always interesting to get the back stories, Shadow’s was not what U expected. It was sad and disturbing. I would recommend this to any adult SFR fan.
They are more than you can see, especially at first sight – what does the outer shell say about the inner core of a living being! Who can tell where you wear your scars?
Petra and Shadow – so obviously different and yet so similar, rarely two characters complement each other so perfectly. Where one weakens, the other finds his strength and unexpectedly grows beyond himself and vice versa.
Exciting, stirring and emotional with a kick and unexpected depth, spiced with a crackling hot interlude – no aspect is lost and in the end you are left with the desire for more of the starship “Beautiful Deliverence” and its passengers.
The interaction with the others and the group dynamics provide an incentive to change one’s point of view and to look outside one’s own box.
Wonderfully written and highly recommended!
PS. Order “Galaxy Gladiators.”
