It took me a couple of chapters to get into this book but when I did I could not put it down! I thought initially that I should go back and read the other book in the series, and concluded that it is truly a standalone book. However, I am reading the other book in the series just because I love the characters and want to learn more about them from the beginning. There is almost a mythology feel to the story that makes the characters the type of heroes that people almost want to worship. We have the paranormal and the supernatural and magical beings all in one story. There is quite a bit of action and a lot of mysteriousness which kept me engaged and eager to see how things evolved. I like too that the book takes us on a journey with these characters that become quite epic. I will keep reading the books that give us more on the individual characters and look forward to reading the next book in the series

We have another action packed fast paced thrill ride adventure from D.N. Leo that has paranormal and supernatural elements and magical creatures and is set in the Multiverse. This is a page turner that will keep you interested to the last page and wanting more. This is an easy to highly recommend read, both this book and the series. It took me a couple of chapters to get into this book. This is a book about the multiverse, one of several that D.N. Leo has written. This one involves Cademon, the son of Ciarron, ruler of Eudaiz and Madeline, his wife. The book has a lot of action, twists and turns. I had more difficulty following the story line in this one than previous books. That could be because I have been under the weather. Regardless, it you are a fan of the multiverse genre, you will enjoy this book.

D.N. Leo really knows how to write compelling romantic urban fantasies. I just realized-read her Light of Demon, first in her Mage of Bloodstone series. My plan was to read this one today and then turn to the other tomorrow. Silly me. There was no way I could stop myself from turning immediately to Shade of Darkness (Book 2). On the one hand, I’m happy I did as Alyna and Caedmon are superb characters and their story is a fantastic one (perfectly supported by a strong characters led by Sedna, Orla and Lorcan). On the other hand now it’s almost 4am and I might be a wee bit tired tomorrow. Oh well, it was worth it. But for the fact that I’m literally dictating this review to my husband from my hospital bed I could go on and on with praises. The book definitely deserves it. Since I can’t do that I will simply note that the book is most definitely one to read, and it is easy to highly recommend.
Amazing. Just amazing. I hate to give spoilers so I know my reviews sound generic sometimes, but I have to tell you, I think this was one of the best multiverse books yet. There were so many different things going on and such unknowns, that I am just jumping up and down for the next one. I love books that intrigue me and actually make me use my intelligence sometimes too. Lol. I just can’t get enough!!!
