When I met Ryan, I might’ve been trying to break into his basement. It was for a good cause. I swear. Also, my dog broke in first.Ryan Blake is jaw-dropping handsome, wealthy & cocky. Not quite my type. By some miracle, he doesn’t call the police on me when he catches me trying to rescue my dog. He even fetches a doctor for me. Don’t ask why.I don’t figure I’ll see him again. Then, I do. Then, … I’ll see him again. Then, I do. Then, he kisses me. Once. Twice. Is three times the charm? To be honest, I swooned at the first kiss.
All swooning aside, we are seriously opposites. I wear cowboy boots and skirts. He wears suits and ties. He’s all New York City. I’m a Southern girl looking for a new start. We even talk at different speeds.
The list of things I don’t expect from Ryan is long. I don’t expect him to think twice about me. I don’t expect him to nearly bring me to my knees with a look. I don’t expect him to be so much more than I ever imagined.
I absolutely don’t expect to fall for him. So hard I’m skidding sideways just to catch my balance.

From the cute moment these two meet this story captured my attention. It was engaging and quite enjoyable read. I liked the story and both the characters. The characters were likeable and I really enjoyed their chemistry. I really enjoyed how the author had incorporated Graham and Soraya in the story . I literally binge read this book in one sitting. It was well written and story was well developed. Definitely an enjoyable read.
What a wonderful story!! This book was a sexy and fun read and Addie & Ryan are wonderful characters that I felt almost at home with them and the book like I was hanging out with some friends. This is the first book by this author I have read, but I will certainly be looking for other books to read when my time permits. I voluntarily read an advance reader copy of this book for an honest review.
Talk about opposites attract and Ryan and Addie have a head on collision with heat!!! Addie is spreading her wings in NYC when her great aunt leaves her estate and brownstone to Addie. Only having left New Orleans a few days ago, Addie is tied up in knots looking for her best friend, a dog named Barnable. Ryan is a billionaire and CEO of HISD’s family’s tech company, but he’s also a workaholic. What he didn’t expect after a long day was to find a woman in cowboy boots breaking into his basement, to get her dog. Instead of calling the police he called a doctor friend to stitch up her cut. They’ll never see each other again but that doesn’t stop either from thinking about the other. When their paths cross again and again is it a sign?? She’s unlike any other woman he’s met. She wears cowboy boots and skirts, he’s sexy in suits. His money doesn’t mean anything to her… at all. One kiss, then another and all thoughts evaporate!! Could her be the one?? That is until she over heard a conversation Ryan was having on the phone. Heartbroken and lost without her, can Ryan get her to understand that she is the one for him??? Will Addie give him a chance to explain?? A Must Read that will captivate you from the beginning. Great characters that are perfect for each other. I always enjoy a J. H. Croix story and she is a one click for me!! I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book and purchased a copy for my favorites collection. Can’t wait to see what she comes up with next.
Fun, Spirited, and Super Sizzles
Sexy Suit by J.H. Croix is a fun read by one of my favorite authors.
The characters are typical J.H. Croix … meaning they are realistic, full of life, and nearly all are ones you want in your life!
Ryan is a super handsome, rich city guy who is much deeper than all of that. He’s been single for a while and really doesn’t realized that something’s missing in his life until he meets up with Addie, who is unaware of how refreshing, spirited, and quirky her southern personality is … and just how appealing it is to Ryan and everyone she meets.
This book takes the two of them through appliance stores, through NYC brownstones, and office buildings … and also the bedroom! The dialogue is witty and the chemistry between the two of them is palpable. … but it’s much more! Each one comes with family blessings and baggage that they work through together.
If you are looking for a story that is tightly woven with terrific characters … and sub characters, download Sexy Suit (and you can learn why this is the title!).
I received an advance reader copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving my honest review. J.H. Croix
I am newer to the Cocky Hero Club so I wasn’t exactly sure what to expect but I am very familiar with J.H. Croix and she did not disappoint!! Sexy Suit was a fantastic, heartwarming, sexy read!
Ryan met Addie when she was trying to break into his basement. She claimed she had a perfectly good reason – her dog was inside. He helped retrieve her dog, had his doctor patch her up and sent her on her way.
Neither of them thought they would see each other again. But when they did, sparks started flying! What was it that brought these two opposites together? Would they be able to make it work or were their worlds too different?
Swoon!! These two had the sweetest relationship, even if Ryan was a goober for awhile!! Sexy Suit was definitely the perfect story to get lost in!
I have never read anything by this author before. The blurb is what made me pick it up. This was an AWSOME 5 star story. A solid page turner. This is part of the Cocky Series, it’s in correlation with Stuck Up Suit.
Ryan is a business men who treats everything as a transaction, even women. Then he comes upon a woman who trying to break in his basement. Well she’s looking for her lost dog. Addie is a down to earth woman who just moved to New York. She lost her dog which ends up in Ryan basement of the most eligible and rich bachelor. Opposites attract.
I loved everything about this story. It was funny and lighthearted. Amazing characters that were witty and down to earth. Even if Ryan was all business man at first, underneath that suit he had a soft heart. He wasn’t what he portrayed.
A beautifully written story with an addicting storyline that flowed well. Bottomline this is a must read.
Standalone told in a dual POV with an HEA. I strongly recommend this story.
Ryan meets Addie when she is trying to break into his basement to rescue her dog. Much to his surprise he believes her and doesn’t call the police. Addie is new in the city after inheriting her aunt’s brownstone. Ryan treats all his relationships just like a business deal and can’t figure out why Addie has gotten under his skin.
I love J.H. Croix so was very excited to find her writing in the Cocky Hero Club World. Loved the characters and Barnable was such a cutie. Addie was a kickass, free spirited woman who could take care of herself. These 2 were good for some good laughs as well as some steaminess. Always looking forward to my next J.H. Croix read.
Amazing opposites attract story!! Ryan and Addie are completely different people from her cowboy boots and skirts to his business suits. His a big city business man and she’s a country girl from Louisiana. They meet when Addie tries to break into his basement after her dog. Ryan is immediately attracted to Addie, but they both have some family issues to overcome. A really sweet story.
Ryan is a successful businessman. Addie designs greeting cards and has a dog. She can work from anywhere, and when her aunt dies and leaves her a home in New York City, Addie moves there. Unfortunately, her dog finds an opening in the gate and ends up lost. Addie places posters and wanders the streets looking for her dog. She finally finds him in the basement of Ryan’s home, where he took shelter from the cold. Addie hears his bark and is reaching for him through a basement window when Ryan gets home from work. After a slightly awkward first meeting, these two get to know each other through appliance shopping, dinner, and conversation. There’s a bit of an insta-love component to this book, but if the reader can see past that, it’s a really cute story.
Both Ryan and Addie have ‘father’ issues: both had self-absorbed father figures in their lives. This requires some honest communication and introspection, which eventually occurs. It also helps to have supportive friends, who are also present in this story. However, much of the tension in the story gets resolved over the way Ryan treats Addie’s dog, Barnable. This dog adds some levity and heart to this story. For a man who doesn’t trust readily and who keeps most friendships and dating experiences on the surface, Barnable brings out Ryan’s humanity and kindness. Between their friends and her deceased aunt’s best friends advice, Addie and Ryan finally see what has been there all along.
I loved how these two met. At first I thought it was going to be a huge back and forth fighting. But Ryan was actually a good guy.
Addie and Ryan couldn’t have been more opposite. Ryan was the New York City hot shot owner of his own company and Addie was just a small town girl from New Orleans. Addie inherited her great aunt’s brownstone and decided she needed a change. Then she meets Ryan when her dog Barnable goes missing and he accidentally crawls into Ryan’s basement.
From there it was sort of a total instant chemistry. But things isn’t as easy as that. Addie doesn’t believe that she and Ryan are a good fit, because they are total opposites. And Ryan has his own issues that he is dealing with, as well as not quit believing that he is loosing his heart to this women.
This was a sweet story. A bit predictable, but it was nonetheless a sweet read. I enjoyed how Addie made Ryan see there is more to life than work and how their opposites was something that was actually a strength in their relationship. And a first read for me by this author.
This was my first full read by JH Croix and I did enjoy it. Ryan and Addie meet in an usual way…but when you know… you know. Addie is not planning on being the toy of the week, but she’s pretty intrigued by Ryan. I love how Addie remains completely true to herself and her roots and Ryan, well he’s been keeping his true nature hidden and he may have some work ahead of him to win the lady. A fun, sexy read.
Sexy suit is such a great name for this funny quirky read about how Addie almost getting arrested for breaking and entering.
Addie fearing losing her heart to Ryan a well known aloof billionaire, who happens to be sexy fun bossy smart and worth the risk.
This was my first time reading J.H. Croix and it won’t be the Las.
I found her writing style well written easy to read while still having enough drama and sexual chemistry to keep me captivated.
This was such a delightful, opposites attract romance! This is my first time reading this author, and I very much enjoyed this book!
Addie is our sweet and sassy heroine who has recently moved to NY, and Ryan is a grumpy, alpha, and slightly asshole hero. These two are compete opposites, but they are so much more than what I just described. These two aren’t stereotypical characters, and you can’t help but fall in love with them!
This was a very sweet romance with ALL the feels! Barnable is one to the best furry friends that I have ever has the pleasure of reading! You don’t want to miss out on this book!
**I received an ARC of this book and these are my honest opinions!**
4.5 stars
Addie is a New York transplant by way of New Orleans when her great aunt leaves her a brownstone. When her dog goes missing, she will do everything in her power to get him back, even breaking and entering. Ryan is a wealthy businessman who puts his career first and foremost to the detriment of everything else including women. After a grueling day at work, he comes home to find a woman breaking into his home. Will Ryan give Addie the benefit of doubt and hear her out? This is one well written storyline with enticing characters that feel like friends. The chemistry between Addie and Ryan is sizzling. If you enjoy reading contemporary romances, then this is one to add to your shelf. I volunteered to read an advance copy of this book.
A sweet love story. This story was perfect. The characters were so enjoyable and easy to read about. The storyline was engaging and kept my interest throughout. I loved the whole book and I was disappointed when it ended.
Ryan and Addie are opposites, but their attraction is intense and fast after they first meet. While the spark is there, they still definitely have issues to overcome. He doesn’t do relationships and Addie is falling hard.
There were elements of the story and characters I enjoyed. It did feel a bit repetitive as I read, though, which can make it feel like the story isn’t moving forward or the characters growing/changing.
Addie’s dog was really cute and I liked the cameos from Graham and Soraya from Stuck Up Suit, too!
Thank you to the author for providing an ARC for an honest review.
Addie gets caught breaking into Ryan’s basement but he believes her when she tells him she was just there to get her dog. She’s not fond of sexy men and he’s not fond of anything other then work but they are both intrigued by each other and want to know more. Cute story and I adored Addie
Ryan and Addie`s story was good, opposites attract type of rom-com where instant chemistry comes in to play. It was a bit of a slow burn and having this CEO falling for the woman who lost her dog, had me reading it from start to finish in no time. I found it very entertaining.
New to me author.
This is a very sweet romantic read and there’s nothing wrong with those. I love the way these two meet. She’s very quirky, I like that about her. He on the other hand is quite serious and uptight. They’re a great combination. They both have issues about love and relationship. I enjoyed reading this story.
I loved this book! It was a very sweet story with wonderful characters. There is lots of humor, romance, heat and a little mystery. Barnacle, the dog, is a wonderful character too. He brings a lot of humor and warmth to the story. Ms. Croix always does a good job of building the heat between the characters and making you almost as anxious as they were. A lovely, yummy romance!
I received a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it.
