When I met Ryan, I might’ve been trying to break into his basement. It was for a good cause. I swear. Also, my dog broke in first.Ryan Blake is jaw-dropping handsome, wealthy & cocky. Not quite my type. By some miracle, he doesn’t call the police on me when he catches me trying to rescue my dog. He even fetches a doctor for me. Don’t ask why.I don’t figure I’ll see him again. Then, I do. Then, … I’ll see him again. Then, I do. Then, he kisses me. Once. Twice. Is three times the charm? To be honest, I swooned at the first kiss.
All swooning aside, we are seriously opposites. I wear cowboy boots and skirts. He wears suits and ties. He’s all New York City. I’m a Southern girl looking for a new start. We even talk at different speeds.
The list of things I don’t expect from Ryan is long. I don’t expect him to think twice about me. I don’t expect him to nearly bring me to my knees with a look. I don’t expect him to be so much more than I ever imagined.
I absolutely don’t expect to fall for him. So hard I’m skidding sideways just to catch my balance.

I loved every minute of this fun and sexy read with engaging characters you feel like you know and want to be friends with them and a beautifully written story that I couldn’t put down! I really liked Addie Castille who grew up in New Orleans and moves to New York City when her great aunt left her estate including a brownstone. I enjoyed her dynamic and sizzling chemistry with billionaire Ryan Blake, handsome and reserved owner of Talton Tech Industries. Ms. Croix is one of my favorite authors and she never disappoints whatsoever. If you enjoy a well-crafted contemporary romance, don’t miss “Sexy Suit”. I received an advance reader copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving my review. I liked the book so much, I purchased a copy so I can read it again.
4 stars!
-audio review-
Sexy Suit is my first book by JH Croix and I adored it. It was fun, sweet, and steamy and is an excellent addition to the Cocky Hero World. Addie has just moved to New York from New Orleans. She has been left a Brownstone in the will of her late great aunt. She is strong and independent and Ryan is charming, wealthy, and gorgeous. They meet in different way but there are immediate sparks and their chemistry is undeniable. I don’t think there is more unlikely pairing than these two as they are polar opposites but they really worked. In this story there is some light drama that kept me engaged and I was invested from the beginning. I loved that Graham (from Stuck-Up Suit) was a good friend of Ryan’s and really enjoyed Addie’s friendship with Soraya. The narration by Jason Clarke and Summer Roberts was excellent. These narrators do a fantastic job!
From the first page J.H. drew me into her world. Ryan and Addie have a great love story. The supporting cast are funny and add to storyline – especially Barnable! Great characters, storyline and well-written with all the feels. Loved it. My first book by J. H. Croix, but definitely not my last.
Addie small town girl from New Orleans (not a small town) but southern raised loses her dog and is
found trying to get into Ryan’s basement where her dog is trapped. Ryan of course a billionaire comes
home to find Addie’s rearend sticking out of his basement window. The hard hearted uncaring Ryan
thought about calling the police but when he sees Addie he knows she was not breaking into his house. He is taken with her looks then realizes she is injured from the broken window in his base-
ment. Ryan does come to her aid by letting her get her dog out of his basement and calling a Dr.
to take care of the cuts on Addie’s hand. He is quite taken with Addie not the normal New Yorker.
Her southern twang and beautiful looks draw him in and their journey together begins. The
attraction is a bit far out but JH Croix does show both POV. I like that Addie is not a pushover and
Ryan has to fight for her. Their back story is a big part of the reason Addie is reticent to go into a
relationship with Ryan. I like the way Addie tames Ryan an alpha. I enjoyed the read.
This was my first book by J.H. that I’ve read and it was good. It started off a little strong but tapered off and it was a struggle for me for a few chapter’s to stay in it. But I’m glad I did because it picked back up and took off. Addie and Ryan was actually a perfect couple for each other. And in Addie’s case I could relate in some ways so it was easy to connect with her. I would definitely read more from this author. And I it’s definitely worth a one-click. – By Tina
I love when I find a new author. This definitely won’t be my last book by J.H. Croix. I can’t tell you how many times Ryan gave me butterflies in my stomach. The man may appear all quiet and business on the outside but he is very vocal in words and actions with Addie. Opposites definitely attract where he is all business suit and and she is shirts, leggings and cowgirl boots. And I love how the dog just brings them together. This was a great book filled with an alpha male, outspoken free spirited female and a lot of sexual tension that will burn the pages.
Ryan and Addie…
One dog…. can change everything
It’s an slow burn, overcoming insecurities story and I loved how the characters grow along the story goes
I loved reading it, but I love all books so far that I have read from JH Croix

So far this is one of my top favorites in the Cocky Hero Club. It’s the most realistic of the group I have read so far. I greatly enjoyed Ryan and Addie’s chemistry and growing relationship. This is my first book by this author and I’m looking forward to grabbing a few more!
Good story for this series, I liked that both Addie and Ryan were erring on the side of caution and they each had reservations about pursuing anything romantic in nature. They’re the very definition of opposites attract, and while the story is a bit predictable, I liked it enough to see it all the way through and see how Addie and Ryan reached their HEA.
This is my first book by J.H. Croix and I really enjoyed how nicely the chapters flowed together and Addie and Ryan. Addie and Ryan are complete opposites but the attraction and chemistry is there from the start. I love the sweetness of this book and the characters.
When Ryan arrives at his home one evening he’s greeted to a sight he’s unlikely to forget, a gorgeous female on her hands and knees trying to break into his home, well that’s not quite the whole story however it’s the beginning of Ryan and Addie’s story.
It’s really is a case of opposites attract when it comes to these two, workaholic, sexy suit wearing Ryan gives off these serious vibes and is all work no play then there’s free spirited Addie with her penchant for flowing blouses, woolly tights and cowboy boots however there’s one thing they both share and that’s a reluctance to fall in love but Addie’s little furbaby Barnable puts those wheels in motion as he brings the pair together and the rest is history as they say.
Sexy Suit was a swoon worthy, page turner of a read filled with lots of sexual tension with no angst or unnecessary drama getting in the way as the main protagonists make their way towards a happily ever after.
Don’t miss out on this feel good, Cocky Club Hero novel.
A captivating, sensual, and heartwarming story. Ryan and Addie are opposites, but you know what they say.. opposites attract. Their chemistry was palpable, and their connection was undeniable. I adored this story.
Addy and Ryan were fun to read about.
This was a book where I really liked both the leads. I really liked Addy. She knew who she is and doesn’t apologize for it. She had made the big move to New York with her trusty dog who gets into a little bind right after they get there.
I liked reading about the unraveling of Ryan. He is know for being this uptight and cold man who doesn’t do relationships. You can see immediately that he is draw to Addy and even though he can’t understand it, he doesn’t fight it.
A sweet romantic read with an interesting twist on the influence of fathers on the children they produce but don’t nurture.
A burglary gone bad leads to love…
Ok so maybe a burglary is a bit misleading…Addy has just moved to NYC from New Orleans, upon inheriting a brownstone from her great aunt. Her dog then ran away, but she’s found him! Unfortunately, he’s in the basement of another brownstone so Addy breaks a window to rescue him. Then she gets caught by the owner! I loved this quick story of a couple, who have great chemistry but their broken childhoods keeps their defenses high! Also, who can’t resist an adorable pooch?
I really enjoyed JH Croix’s Cocky Hero Club novel. Sexy Suit is a great entry in this world. It’s low drama and angst, full of romance, fun and humor, and just a really enjoyable romance to read. And not only is it great to read, but the audiobook is an entertaining listen, too.
Addie is exactly what Ryan needs to help become less of a workaholic and really embrace life! When he finds her breaking into his house to rescue her missing dog, his whole life is turned upside down. Ryan finds himself inexplicably drawn to Addie, and she helps him spend less time in the office and more time living.
A really fun and entertaining read. Can’t wait for more Cocky Hero books!
Once again J H Croix doesn’t disappoint. Loved Ryan, Addie and Barnable. Couldn’t put it down!
What an amazing read. From the first page to the last, I was engrossed in Ryan and Addie. I laughed, I cried, I bit my tongue and finally I rejoiced over the HEA. This is a case of two opposites being the mate the other one needed. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy of this book.
Sexy Suit
Addie and Ryan (and Barnibus!)
An aloof sexy billionaire workaholic and a gorgeous free spirited sassy woman, both with daddy issues.
Read their story, it’s SO GOOD!
Received this ARC and am leaving an honest review.
Addie was trying to get her dog when Ryan caught her trying to break into his basement. He called a friend in to check her cut. Then too her dog to a Vet. But he still needed to see more of her. Great story.
