Serious men don’t eat red Popsicles.Brett Hunter’s life isn’t unicorns and rainbows, and it sure isn’t sparkles. He’s a businessman, a disciplined man, a money man, and if he ever believed in magic, it was a long time ago. He’s not a hero, and he doesn’t play one on TV. Oh, and he really doesn’t like the water. What’s he doing, then, on an Australian beach in a custom-made Italian suit, up to his … custom-made Italian suit, up to his waist in the waves and helping a red-haired mermaid save the day?
No matter how crazy his life gets, not being in control isn’t an option, and neither is veering from his path or falling for mermaids. Also, serious men don’t eat red Popsicles.

Some books keep you on the edge of your seat, some are hard to put down, and some are like going to visit an old friend. Sexy as Sin falls into the third group and it really was like spending time with old friends.
Sexy as Sin follows two secondary characters from the prior Sinful, Montana books. Brett Hunter appeared in both of the previous books, but we never really got to know him well. Willow is some one we’ve only caught brief glimpses of, but is related to our previous Sinful heros.
Brett and Willow were a couple that I truly enjoyed spending time with. They are both unique personalities that come with baggage, but haven’t let their pasts weigh them down. Life with these two was never dull, from their first meeting on they had one adventure after another and only some of them were planned. Mother nature and intrigue contributed to the excitement!
While the time frame for Sexy as Sin is relatively short, Ms. James’ excellent writing gives the impression of a slow boil to Brett and Willow’s budding romance. I appreciated the sense of seeing both of them peel back their layers, not only with each other, but around their families as well.
This is definitely part of the Sinful, Montana series, but really stands on it’s own as well. There are multiple connections to the first two books, but a lot of them are tangential and don’t impact the story line as it focuses wholly on Brett and Willow. Having said that, I do think reading the series in order would be helpful as it gives a better picture of who Brett is.
Ms. James has a very unique style that is very present here and as always contributes to the enjoyment of the story
Book 3 in the Sinful, Montana Series and this book follows two of the secondary characters from previous books and I was so excited to see that Rosalind James decided to give Brett and Willow their own book and let me tell you this book was everything I expected and more it captivated me it drew me in and there was no putting down until I had read the very last line.
Brett a self made billionaire comes to Australia to build a new housing complex and this is where he meets Willow a caterer who surfs to relax, there is an instant attraction and sizzling chemistry between them but on the face of it they come from very different backgrounds and live very different life’s is there a way to make a relationship work…….
I love this authors style of writing I love the way she always makes you feel like you are going home and catching up with friends who may be characters in her books but that doesn’t mean we don’t know them because she describes them and their life’s so well, she really paints pictures with words and this book is no different it really is a great read. Brett is a steady loveable character and Willow is a fun person to be around and I loved joining them on their journey I loved watching their relationship grow and I can’t wait for more from Sinful, Montana.
5 Star Review of Sexy As Sin (Sinful,Montana #3) by Rosalind James
Another great addition to the Sinful, Montana series. I really enjoy Rosalind James style of writing; her characters are always believable and the way she describes the surroundings, often makes me feel as though I am seeing the places she talks about in my mind.
From the first chapter Brett Hunter grabbed my attention and didn’t let go. Brett is a self made man, a billionaire in fact and when he encounters Willow at the beach, sparks fly although they are from two very different worlds.
Willow is a caterer who has worked hard to build her business and has nothing in common with the hugely successful businessman, and yet they are immediately attracted to one another. Coincidence strikes when she finds out that Brett is from the same town in Montana as her cousins and they click and they begin to fall for one another.
With someone trying to sabotage Willow’s catering business, Brett dives in to help despite his broken leg.
As I have come to expect from a Rosalind James novel, the characters were strong and so easy to relate to.
This is one of those series that seems to get better an better as it grows and I look forward to reading more.
Audio Review from March 2019
This starts off as a slow burn romance to get them together, the story picks up a shade once they breech the sexual barrier but not by much.
It’s just a slow languid ride down a lazy river.
It’s a lovely story with a shade of suspense that keeps you guessing in the middle until about an hour out from the end. Then the suspense is wrapped up and the author wraps up Brett and Willow’s story.
This narrator (Emma Wilder)’ is fantastic at the male voices and the Australian accent, which is tough to nail if not from around there.
This book took you in many different directions, yet flowed easily from one thing to another.
There is something special about a Rosalind James book. When I finish a book, I always feel the need to go back and absorb the previous books in the series. It doesn’t matter how many books are on my TBR list. I just want to continue feeling that feeling you get with her books.
I loved Brett’s calmness, intelligence, kindness, strength, and that touch of alpha male. Willow was different in that she had the artistic flare, the need for a little excitement, and her own brand of inner strength. They complimented each other, even coming from different locations and different places in life. They were sensual and sexual, and held each other up so well.
I also enjoyed that there was a clear distinction and feel between her Aussie descriptions and her NZ descriptions in her other books. A real treat for someone who has never had the opportunity to enjoy either place.
A great addition to the Sinful, Montana series.
This was a lovely romance with likable characters. I appreciated the fact that Willow is a chef with new ideas as this is a growing field for women that has been dominated by men. I liked Brett and enjoyed the interaction between him and Willow. The book is set in Australia, although it is in the Sin Montana series, so the reader gets exposed to a new place while getting updates about the characters from previous books. I enjoyed this book and recommend it for people who want a spicy romance.
Ms. James just keeps getting better and better. Realistic characters, no “insta-love” (which I hate!), you can “see” her exotic locations they are so well described. A long book … but always sad when they end! Great book; definitely recommended.
They say opposites attract! Loved this latest book from R James!!! I was so happy when this author announced another book in the Sinful series…Brett and Willow are fantastic characters. This story has it all…laugh out loud moments, romance, super sexy times, parts that will have you flipping the pages quicker to find out what happens!!!
And all done in true Rosalind James style 🙂
Loved this book & entire series, highly recommend!
Sexy as Sin was another great story by this author. Brett and Willow have an undeniable attraction. Their similarities only add to that attraction, and getting to know them as a couple was very enjoyable. I definitely recommend this book.
