NOW A NEW YORK TIMES, USA TODAY and WALL STREET JOURNAL BESTSELLER! From #1 New York Times Bestseller Vi Keeland, comes a new, sexy standalone novel. My relationship with Hunter Delucia started backwards. We met at a wedding–him sitting on the groom’s side, me sitting on the bride’s. Stealing glances at each other throughout the night, there was no denying an intense, mutual attraction.I caught … Stealing glances at each other throughout the night, there was no denying an intense, mutual attraction.
I caught the bouquet; he caught the garter. Hunter held me tightly while we danced and suggested we explore the chemistry sparking between us. His blunt, dirty mouth should’ve turned me off. But for some crazy reason, it had the opposite effect on me.
We ended up back in my hotel room. The next morning, I headed home to New York leaving him behind in California with the wrong number.
I thought about him often, but after my last relationship, I’d sworn off of charming, cocky, gorgeous-as-sin men. A year later, Hunter and I met again at the birth of our friends’ baby. Our attraction hadn’t dulled one bit. After a whirlwind trip, he demanded a real phone number this time. So I left him with my mother’s–she could scare away any man with her talks of babies and marriage–and flew back home.
I’d thought it was funny, until the following week when he rang the bell at Mom’s house for Sunday night dinner. The crazy, gorgeous man had won over my mother and taken an eight-week assignment in my city. He proposed we spend that time screwing each other out of our systems.
Eight weeks of mind-blowing sex with no strings attached? What did I have to lose?
Nothing, I thought.
It’s just sex, not love.
But you know what they say about the best laid plans…more
Another fantastic read by Vi Keeland. Apparently cocky does it for me because that’s what Hunter is. I absolutely loved him! Sexy, flirty and so romantic when he wants to be. Hooked from the beginning, loved the slow burn, and the scorching chemistry holds you until the end. A must read!
NO SPOILERS!
Sex, Not Love was sweet, sexy, surprisingly emotional, utterly addicting and entertaining, and absolute contemporary romance gold! Vi Keeland completely blew me away with the phenomenal and unforgettable storyline and characters she created, and I absolutely loved her writing style. Sex, Not Love was definitely a TOP FAVORITE read of the year, and by far Vi Keeland’s best novel to date!
Hunter and Natalia were absolutely amazing and I dearly loved them and their story with all of my heart. I loved their personalities and red-hot chemistry together, and how their relationship progressed throughout. I loved reading the book from both Hunter and Natalia’s POV, and I truly loved all of their banter and interactions with each other. Their story was completely unexpected in a lot of ways, but it was so much more than I ever could have hoped for. I was captivated from beginning to end, and I absolutely loved reading every single word of this book. Hunter and Natalia were my favorite hero and heroine that Vi Keeland has created so far, with Drew and Emerie (Egomaniac), and Chase and Reese (Bossman), extremely close behind. Most of the secondary characters were amazing as well, and I loved their addition to the story. I loved everything about Sex, Not Love, and I honestly don’t have anything negative to say about it. The book truly exceeded all of my expectations and wildest dreams, and it was absolute perfection from start to finish. To say I was beyond happy with the conclusion to Hunter and Natalia’s story, would be an enormous understatement.
Sex, Not Love surpassed all of my wildest dreams and more, and will certainly be a TOP FAVORITE read of the year! Vi Keeland once again outdid herself with this sweet, sexy, emotional, and extremely addicting and entertaining standalone contemporary romance, and I was truly ecstatic with the outcome to Hunter and Natalia’s story. Sex, Not Love was perfect in every possible way, and Hunter and Natalia’s story will be one I return to again and again for a very long time to come. I honestly can’t stop gushing and smiling over this extraordinary and memorable story, and I HIGHLY RECOMMEND it to everyone!
I will never get tired of getting destroyed and speechless from the books I read. Even more so when that effect was cause by a New-Author-To-me. I know that it was past the time that it would be forgiven to not have read Vi yet, but they say Better Late Than Ever, right? And because I’m a sole believer of everything happens for a reason and at the time they should, I guess 2018 was fated to be the year that I would cross this amazing author off my bucket list. And I effing guarantee you that she went with a Bing Bang!!! And a simple fun fact, I was awake for over 36 hours when I finally finished it! I just couldn’t put it down even for sleep.
Sex, Not Love is… simply a masterpiece!! What more to say? I honestly would never have imagined what a wrecking ball was waiting for me just around the corner the moment I dive into it. And I have my dear Angie to vouch for the craziness that this book got me under a the START, DURING IT and, even more, AFTER it. Still way way way after it!!! I simply can’t get past this book’s perfection and emotional whiplash! I was only 2% in when I JUST. KNEW that I would probably not make it out alive at the end of it. My heart was up for an atomic-bomb-explosion of feelings and a strong heart attack. While reading it, I never stopped highlighting some of the greatest sentences and thoughts that I have ever encountered in a book and writing down note after note of the things that kept making the story better and better.
First of all, THEIR FIRST MEET!!! I mean, DAMN!!! How much more can a woman take? Both Hunter’s and Natalia’s reactions when they set their eyes for the first time on each other is too priceless and huge to not include in the things that took this story even higher. It only takes one second for them to get pulled together and fall in love – even if they didn’t know it yet – and one blink of an eye for me – and you – to not just fall head over heels for them, but surrender my all to them so they could take me to this incredible journey that is their love. And then, their epic banter comes to deal the final blow to your system. You could feel the intensity, the passion and the supercharged and powerful emotions that were flowing with high voltages between them running through your blood and affecting all your organs just the same. This story simply isn’t leaving you any choice on that matter. The effect will be even more shocking if you fight it. Because when it comes to when the heart and blood speaks, everything else shuts up.
They say that a nickname, 98% of the time, can only come from a person who really loves you. It’s his/her way to show you the special place you hold in his heart an mind. The nicknames can be produced through all kinds of ways. From your name, something that characterizes you, an action that you do without realizing; all kinds of things. But it takes only one person to notice to create a nickname for you that makes you super special for him/her. Even the most ridiculous or the most embarrassing can be created out of fondness. And the nickname that Hunter creates for Nat, couldn’t be more heartwarming and perfect. Especially since the backstory of its creation is something that no one can say that is not super sweet and a b s o l u t e l y swooning!!! The scene that started the “sweet pea” effect will always stay in my heart, soul, and mind. Just picture this; Hunter and Natalia are picking up some flower arrangements that were needed for an event, and while the floweriest was preparing them, Natalia spots her favorite flower, Sweet Peas, which makes Hunter notices too. She tells him the why it’s her favorite so what he does when they are ready to leave, besides starting calling her “sweet pea”? He buys a pot for his house. I mean, C, MON!!! How more perfect can this guy get? And let’s don’t get me started on – ahem- all kind of skills he possessed or the things he did that were screaming from the rooftops how much in love and smitten was by her. Natalia, as I see it, didn’t stand a chance; she was already his.
There is just not many words to describe the feelings I get over when I encounter the Huntington’s disease inside a story. The weight that fatal disease puts on it is indescribable. It’s that kind of a disease that, just the thought of someone having it, tears you up inside since its genetic nature has proved to be almost impossible to overcome so a cure can be found. The moment that it was mentioned, I swear I heard a crack inside me because I didn’t know which way that would go. And seeing the reactions that its appearance ensued on the characters, was heartbreaking. There wasn’t a character’s life that it didn’t touch and turn upside down. Although, the angst that it added on the last part of the story, only made the epilogue 100 times more sweet and liberating to experience.
I could go on and on and on about this book, this story, this couple, THIS AUTHOR!!! I was such a stupid girl to not have met Vi’s awesome mind all those years. This book proved all the highest of the highest praise I was hearing time and time again about the great level of authors she inhabits. And I’m sure as hell, I’m going to going tick one by single one of her books off my list and then some. I’m going to read the hell out of her….. :p
Keeping it short. I always enjoy her books and love the covers. This one had some feels going on. I really liked it!
I love how Vi writes her leading characters, especially the men. Always their chemistry is off the charts and soooo hot.
I enjoyed the beginning a lot. I wanted more and more of them but it kind of went downhill a bit afterwards. It’s a very enjoyable book but in my opinion not one of her best.
Vi Keeland never fails to amaze me. One moment she gives me butterflies in my stomach, the next and all too soon, there are unstoppable tears flowing down my eyes. And I like that.
Natalia Rossi and Hunter Delucia both attended their best friends’ wedding where they met for the very first time. Hunter’s cocky demeanor and foul-mouth seemed to have let a sour taste on Natalia, after she caught him eavesdropping her conversation with the bride. Not one to easily get swayed and persuaded by the male testosterone after having her heart break by her ex-husband, Natalia did her best to avoid Hunter, even giving him her wrong number just to get him off her back.
Almost a year later, they met again, and their mutual attraction just intensified. An unforgettable kiss almost melted Natalia’s heart, but now Hunter demanded more, and a real phone number this time. She gave out her mom’s number because she thought Mommy dearest wouldn’t let her daughter get burned again. Little did she know that this was going to be the start of a whirlwind and overwhelmingly hopeful and painful love affair.
This is more like a friends-with-benefits type of romance, with the characters slowly taking off their masks and giving in to their carnal needs. I don’t know about you, but I like to see the characters falling in love by the end of the book after realizing they couldn’t get their hands off each other.
But fair warning though, this book isn’t all about romance. Sex, Not Love actually deals with a woman struggling to make ends meet with her step-daughter who doesn’t seem to appreciate everything she does, especially after her father was thrown to jail due to scamming. This story is also about a man refusing to commit because of his fear of what the future brings, especially after the death of all of his loved ones. One thing that bound them – their love for family, and that’s enough to have me crying a full five minutes during the last few chapters of the book.
I haven’t read a book by Vi Keeland that I did not like. Every book she writes is a wonderful combination of real and unreal emotions that gut you inside out. And I really appreciate every book she releases. I can’t wait to get my hands on her next book. Cheers, Vi!
Great so far!!

Such a cute fun read with a bit of heart touching topics. I really enjoyed both the hero & heroine.
I loved the way Hunter & Natalia’s relationship developed. Beautiful.
This is a poignantly heartwarming romance. Natalia life experiences beginning with her father’s infidelity and her own husband’s criminal behavior have left her wary of charming, good looking, alpha type men. Instead she tries dating safe, normal, average looking males but it’s not working. Hunter is everything Natalia is trying to avoid: charming, funny, dirty talking and gorgeous. The spark between them is instantaneous and undeniable but Natalia manages to keep him at arm’s length for almost a year. Hunter is nothing if not persistent and finally wears her down and proposes a limited two month “sex not love” relationship. Unfortunately what sounds good on paper doesn’t end up working in reality because Natalia ends up falling for Hunter but he walks away even after admitting that he is crazy about her. What she doesn’t know is that Hunter lives under a dark cloud that has him going through the motions but not really living life. Apart, both of them are truly miserable and heartbroken. Hunter finally takes the step that he’s been avoiding for years. He also reveals all his truths to Natalia and she gives him a gift that completely destroys all his defenses and allows him to love her as he so desparately needs to. Together they complete each other and get their HEA.
I loved this book. Read the whole thing in one day because i couldn’t put it down. I loved the characters and the flow of the story. Great read!
Reading the blurb for “Sex, Not Love” had me ready to devour this read and devour I did. This book lured me in from the first page but held me captive with the amazing characters and storyline the entire time. I was unable to put this book down nor did I want to put this book down, I NEEDED to know what happened. This read had all the feels so prepare yourself for one helluva emotional ride!
Oh my God, this book! I loved Hunter and Natalia so VERY much! I’ll treasure this story for their banter, the laughs, the slow build, the tears, and that beautifully meaningful epilogue.
This is the second Vi Keeland book that I read and I just love her writing and her characters.
What I’m noticing about Vi’s characters is that not only are the male leads, sexy, bold, vulgar (in a HOT way), straight to the point, strong men but so are the female leads. They are sassy, career oriented and not afraid to go after what they want either. Because of these character traits, the chemistry in her novels is sizzling.
Sex, Not Love follows Hunter, a sexy architect who is bold and vulgar but an all around great guy. After having lost his mother to what he thought was Parkinsons when he was a teen, Hunter and his brother Jayce were raised by their aunt and uncle. Hunter is a man who doesn’t want relationships. he doesn’t do “love” but from the throwbacks we get of Hunter’s past, I immediately felt he was a very loyal guy. Hunter lost his brother Jayce and later in the book we find out how and why. Because of the lost of his mother and brother and the reason he lost them, Hunter harbors a secret that keeps him from loving and getting involved in any long term relationship.
Natalia is a divorce woman whose husband went to jail for fraud. She finds herself raising her 15 year old step-daughter as she is her legal guardian while her ex is serving his prison sentence. Natalia first meets Hunter at the wedding of their mutual (and best friends) Anna and Derek. From that moment , Hunter and Natalia had a chemistry they couldn’t deny.
About a year after the wedding, they cross each other’s paths again and decide to engage in a Sex, not love type of relationship. Both having been hurt by different types of losses they thought it was the perfect type of relationship for them but of course, destiny had other plans for them.
The chemistry between Hunter and Natalia was on fire. I loved the fact that he was so bold from the beginning and he knew he was going to get her sooner or later. Natalia knew she was going to give into him also. I truly enjoying witnessing how their friendship grew into love. They were perfect for one another. The way he handled her and the way he cared so much about Izzy made my heart melt.
These characters were so easy to relate to. Their imperfections and their past made them so real. I admire Natalia’s strength and her dedication and love for Izzy. She really stepped in and was a mother to Izzy. Izzy’s character was great also. I love witnessing her growth and seeing her mature into an amazing young lady. She was a very fair young girl despite all she had gone through.
This book really had me feeling all types of feels. I laughed (out loud), I got angry in some parts, I got teary eyed in others and at the end I just had to take a deep breath and step back into reality. I need more of Vi Keeland’s characters and more of their world so I can escape mine. 🙂
Hunter and Natalia are amazing characters. Their lives embody things that real people experience, thankfully not many. But they are real characters and could be my neighbors or my friends. That’s the true sign of a good character…they could be my friend.
Falling in love was far easier than either would admit. And as a reader, the connection and chemistry was instant and palpable. Accepting and giving in to love? Not so easy. Opening your heart and soul and sharing your life with someone? That’s like climbing Mount Everest.
I felt Nat’s anger towards her ex-husband and her love for her step-daughter. I felt her fear. Hunter emanates charm but his fear and guilt pretty much bowled me over. Even Nat felt there was something significant holding him back. It was truly painful.
Live your life for today. Not exactly the words in the story but it’s my take-away. Live and be happy.
Fantastic book…Never disappointed with Vi Keeland. A great story!!
She managed to give me all the “feels”—AGAIN! I loved the characters and the storeline. Her latest release is a must-read!! I hope you enjoy it as much as I did!!!
A 5 star book, at least for me, has to hit all the right notes. I have to be invested in the characters, I have to care about them, I have to believe them as people, and I have to like them and feel invested in their happily ever after.
This book made me cry.
I don’t think there’s a better way to let me know that, as a reader, I was invested.
I loved the first meeting between Hunter and Natalia, the idea that the things he has said in the past directly conflicted with what she does for a living. And, little do you know then, but there is so much more going on with Hunter. He has his reasons for pursing Nat, or as he and no one else calls her, Natalia. He also has his reasons for pulling back from her, and for not letting himself have the happy ending you can tell he wants.
Hunter broke my heart. He made me teary, he made my heart ache for him, and damn him, he made me cry.
Natalia is an incredible woman, to take on the things she has in her life, especially the things she doesn’t have to…well, you get a good idea as to exactly who she is, and it lends itself well to knowing that whatever reason Hunter has for pulling away, for feeling like there is a reason that he needs to protect her, she is going to be strong enough to handle.
This book did not end the way I was expecting. Yes, there is a happy ending…but there was also info given that I did not think the reader was going to get. I thought we would be left in the dark and I loved the way this resolution was handled, as it lets you know that there is going to be a really happy ending. Complete with birds, and bird houses, and trees and the kind of love that lasts…50 or 60 years.
I recommend this title.
Sex, Not Love is a sexy, emotional roller coaster ride. The first half of the book is a sexy pursuit of sex, not love. The second half is filled with heartbreak and tears leading to the much needed HEA. If I ever needed a HEA it was now.
“We could agree to be not celibate together- just sex and fun, with an expiration date.”
For Hunter Delucia and Natalia ‘Nat’ Rossi was not as easy as it sounded. In the beginning it’s Hunter who pursues Nat. Nat has huge trust issues from past relationships. Her ex-husband had been arrested leaving her to care for his fifteen year old daughter. Hunter doesn’t give up easily. He continues to pursue Nat until she finally agrees to eight weeks of some sex and fun. But it doesn’t take long for their feelings to quickly escalate.
There’s a reason Hunter doesn’t do relationships and he’s kept that reason to himself for ten years. Even though he has feelings for Nat he doesn’t want to hurt her. When their eight weeks are over
Hunter returns back to California leaving Nat behind in NY. Ahh!!! I wanted to jump in the story and slap some sense into Hunter.
Hunter’s past is sprinkled throughout the story. Putting the bits and pieces together until the shattering truth is reveals. Have tissues ready for the tearfully painful revelation. This is a book you enjoy chapter by chapter. Don’t skip ahead, don’t speculate. It’s a like a good wine, savior every sip.
This story moves from sexy, fun to emotional in a heartbeat. I love every minute! 5 Stars.
Wow!!! What a story this was. I wasn’t expecting this, don’t get me wrong, I knew it would be great. If I get to shed one tear then it deserves all the stars in the sky.
They meet at a wedding. Hunter wants Natalia real bad, he’ll even resort to original measures to ensure he could have her. Natalia only goes out with safe men, ones that don’t make her tingly or would give her butterflies. Hunter really lit up the fire in her so she will resist him at every turn. Hunter is really charming, cocky and has a foul mouth on him that you wouldn’t believe what comes out of it. She will give in but feelings will come in the way. It was supposed to be only Sex, Not Love after all.
This started out light, funny with bantering that was quite comical. I was caught laughing out loud quite a few times. So I’m reading along a nice story that’s flows well with just enough intrigued to keep me going but then BAM!!! The story is not so funny anymore, it’s pure heartbreak. One I didn’t see coming. My heart broke for Hunter.
If I wouldn’t have been busy with work, I would have read this story close to one sitting. I was reading every single chance I could because it’s so addicting and consuming. Vi gives up enough intrigue to keep me hooked. I was sucked in the heart of the story. Then she took me on a wild ride of emotions that left me baffled and speechless. She did piece my heart back together eventually.
What I look for in a 5 star story are the characters, I need to connect with them, feel what they’re feeling. These ones did that for me, even secondary characters played an important role in the development of this story. Hunter had a layer. Underneath all that cocky attitude with the foul language, he was a raw, vulnerable man who was hurt so many times that my heart broke. Natalia lost her trust in men when she was badly betrayed. Bottomline I loved everything about this story.
If you want to read a story that will make you swoon, laugh put you through the ringers and then make you swoon some more, read Sex, not Love.
Standalone told mainly in Natalia’s POV with Hunter’s POV from his past. It does come with an amazing HEA. I strongly recommend this story.
