Relationships are broken down into categories. I’ll start with the first one. 1.Sex. For Kelly and me, that part was easy. Shhh. Don’t tell her dad. He’s always hated me. No need to give him further evidence.2.Love. I knew the moment Kelly punched me in the ear for stealing her car that I loved her. Which also leads back to her dad hating me, but whatever. There’s a good reason behind the car … behind the car stealing. If you ask her, probably not.
If the sex and love work out, it usually ends in… drum roll, please…. You guessed it.
3.Marriage. Being married is ridiculously hard. Staying married, even harder. I can give you some advice, but you probably shouldn’t listen to me. I took advice from a porn star, took a tiny blue pill, and fell through a shower door. I’d like to never remember that night again.
Somewhere along this terrifying journey of marriage and parenthood—my swimmers made five of the little sh*ts angels—our relationship as husband and wife fell apart. I can pinpoint the exact moment, as you’ll soon see, but that’s what leads me to this.
Sex. Love. Marriage. And all the chaos in between.
I’m not proud of what I resorted to at times and completely own my dumbass moments, but we’re friends, right? Proceed with caution.

This book had my heart from the beginning. The real life pain and emotions are so real it takes your breath away. The tears and heartache followed up by humor makes it so special. The kids and the neighbors make you want to pack up and move to their neighborhood. We all need a Bonner and a Kate! This is truly a special story that will make you a better person after reading it.
This book is going to take you on a roller coaster of emotions but the best kind. Shey does it again she never disappoints when it comes to words. She knows how to put hem together to leave you hanging on tell the end and leave you wanting more!
As usual, Shey Stahl wrote a story with realistic Characters and real life experiences. This story grabs you from the beginning and never lets you go.
A MUST READ!
I’m not sure I can put it into words how incredible this book was! Shey I don’t now how you do it. This is a fictional story but at the same time it’s real, my emotions were real, my laughter was real, and my tears, yep definitely real. I love Noah & Kelly, are their lives perfect? no. Is there marriage perfect? no. Is their family perfect? Crazy yes, perfect no. Don’t even get me stared on their friends? perfect? no way, weird? hell yes! supportive? 100%. All of this combined with the road trips, accidents, family functions, friends hanging out, parties, work, porn movies and day today grind make this story real. They make it true, add in the fact that I know the neighbour Bonner’s brothers Logan and Revel Slade personally. How could it not be real? Wish I could give it more than 5 stars I freakin loved it!
Sex, Love, Marriage both made me laugh out loud and cry huge tears. The storytelling in this book stands out because it is so honest and true to life. My heart broke for Noah who’s unapologetic in his lack of ability to offer support to Kelly due to being just as broken as her. My heart further cracked each time Kelly unraveled more pieces of her and Noah’s story. I have mad respect for Shey Stahl who has written Noah and Kelly’s characters as raw and real from start to finish. I really hope this book goes to audio because it needs to be heard. I have immensely enjoyed every Shey Stahl book I’ve had the pleasure of reading, but I would be remiss if I did not say, Sex, Love, Marriage is her best work yet.
This book is so emotional. The storyline is so moving and had me close to tears quite a few times. I loved how it showed real life issues couples face and how they try to overcome them. It’s a very moving tribute to anyone who has faced this tragedy in life. Absolutely brilliant.
I thoroughly loved this book. I wish I could give it more stars!!! The quirky kids, to the real life portrayal of marriage, had me in tears and laughing through this book. This book is for everyone. Highly recommended!!!
ALL THE STARS!!!! This book had everything. Shey always has a way of writing where I could literally picture everything happening frame by frame. This book seriously had all the elements needed for a great book. It felt like it could happen in real life. It will give you alllllll the feelings and more.
Noah and Kelly’s marriage is normal, but they’re navigating through tragedy and through it all, its testing their relationship in keeping it going and their love together. It was honest in parenting not being perfect, no marriage is perfect, there are flaws in all of us. I was rollin laughing one minute then boo hoo’ing next. There are books where you remember some details, and some books where you remember everything and stays with you, this is the kinda book that stays with you. I could not stop thinking about Noah and Kelly’s story. Shey did a fantastic job with this book!!!! I loved it.
Top 5 reads for this year. Shey is my go to author when I need a book to pull me in and make me fall in love with the story. Noah and Kelly are a couple who just really need to find their purpose again. Be able to let go of the tragic events in their lives and look at what they have right in front of them. Do they give up? Do they walk away from each other because of hurt and blame? This was not an easy read. It was raw. Edgy. Lots of tears but also make you laugh out loud at 3am. Meet the coolest neighbors and see what the future holds for Noah and Kelly and their brood of silly kids!
This book deals with a heavy yet real life topic. At first I didnt realize what that would be I thought it was going to be something completely different. Reading through Kelly and Noah’s struggle to cope with the loss of their daughter while still trying to raise 4 more children it hit home hard, being a mom to 3 it takes on a new view I kept thinking to myself I have no clue what I would do if thia was to happen to my little family. Shey writes in such a way that it takes you into the story as if you were there with the characters laughing at what they laugh at and truly feeling what they feel. I hope this book helps those who have dealt with loss in their families and gives light to those who may not understand how much stress it can put onto a marriage and how a death of a child can affect everyone’s lives. I cannot wait for the next book from shey!!
When you pick up a book you think you’re going to get a love story, or maybe a drama. But this book. I couldn’t put it into just one genre. Maybe romantic comedy with a realistic dramatic twist. From page 1 I was hooked. The characters spoke to me. I could feel everything they felt. It was raw and gritty. It was life.
I know a lot of people want a book to get away from all the real life issues but this book…my word! It draws you in and you want to be friends with these people. You want to be a part of Kelly’s girl gang. You want to live in their neighborhood. Experience all the craziness. The laughter, the tears.
Everything about this story was magnificent. Definitely a 5 star read and if I could give it more I would!!
Oh my. The feels. This book made me laugh, ugly cry, laugh again repeatedly. I love that this book doesn’t make marriage out to be magical all the time like some books, but is realistic and shows the every day frustrations, as well as dealing with some pretty heavy, tragic issues. I really felt a deep connection to these characters and Shey Stahl has a way of writing that makes you feel their pain on a bone deep level. I wish I could give it more stars. You need to read this.
This book hits all the feels y’all! I couldn’t put it down. SLM tugs at your heartstrings. You’re laughing one minute and grabbing for the tissues the next. I haven’t read a more real book. You feel like you’re living in each moment with Noah and Kelly. You connect with them as they navigate a marriage, one that isn’t all sugar plums and rainbows. It’s beautifully written, I loved every page of SLM – So. Good.
Noah is just a romantic one, “Guaranteed there was no seducing in the porno you weren’t watching, but whatever. I’ll Effing seduce you.” They’re kid is just full of logic, “yes, I do. Being ten is boring. You’re too old to play with toys, and you’re too young to kill anyone.” I liked this book, I loved Noah
Sex. Love.Marriage
Shey Stahl has written a book that is a 10 star book! This book will run you through every emotion from ugly crying to laughing until your crying. Kelly and Noah depict true marriage and the struggles many people face. Amazing read!!!
This book is by far the most amazing I have read in a long time, and deserves a million stars. Everything about it was so real and relatable while also holding a lot of humor. Within the first page I was hooked, and laughing like a lunatic in public. I always love all of Shey’s work but I don’t feel like anything can top Noah and Kelly’s story. I honestly felt like I was a little bi-plar between crying one second and laughing the next. I recommend this book to EVERYONE because no matter if you aren’t into romance or romcom, this book will stay with you forever!
This book is amazing. A couple fighting for their marriage all the while going through major heartbreak is amazing. You will fall In love with this family.
I absolutely loved this book, it had me going through every emotion I could think of. Shey Stahl writes the best books that have me wanting more. Sex. Love. Marriage is real life, definitly showing the ugly in marriage especially after such a heartbreak that Noah and Kelly had to deal with. This book shows the raw emotions that are not the easiest to write about. I love this book and everything between Noah and Kelly. I would give this book a very high recommendation to read, it had me laughing to ugly crying the next. Amazing story to read.
I received this book as a ARC for my honest opinion.
I am in love.
Sex. Love. Marriage. Is a book which I needed to end my readership stagnation.
This book made me happy, but also SLM made me sad.
In one moment I needed the tissuess because I was crying so much!
But to be clear… tissues didn’t help.
If you need to know.
Story about Kelly, Noah and their four kids is heartbreaking.
Kelly and Noah were a perfect couple. They knew each other from the childhood, but one day they lost the contact. Noah was a fighter and he promised to himself that he will steal Kelly’s car to get her attention. What he thought, he did and with small steps they became friends again.
Action was fast. One child, second, third…all was pretty clear and perfect.
Then the bad luck came.
Noah and Kelly’s world collapsed in one moment.
If I can, I would give to this book more than five stars!
This is masterpiece!
Sex. Love. Marriage. Is a story abour family, love, friendship, but also about tragedy, suffer and deep sadness.
Shey express the problems, which we can meet in our life so realistic!
This story is beautiful. Heartbreaking, but beautiful.
I love both of heroes – Noah is strong, but he has a weak points in his armor. Kelly is really good mom and she do everything to her family and their hapiness. They are perfect!
Sex. Love. Marriage is my new best book written by Shey. I love this story and I will return to this book many times. Also I highly recommend this book! You must read it!
Have you ever read a book that makes you laugh out loud and ugly cry in the same chapter? A story that is so completely engrossing that you refuse to put it down? That was this book. These characters were so human, so flawed so absolutely amazing that I fell head over heels in love with them… all of them. The H&H were incredible and had you rooting for them both from page 1, the neighbors were hilarious and made you wish that you had them in your tribe and every parent goes through so much craziness that the kids out the parents through. This romance was real in so many ways. It was beautiful and gut wrenching. I am an avid reader who typically reads 3-4 books a week and this was by far, the best book that I have ever read.
