Relationships are broken down into categories. I’ll start with the first one. 1.Sex. For Kelly and me, that part was easy. Shhh. Don’t tell her dad. He’s always hated me. No need to give him further evidence.2.Love. I knew the moment Kelly punched me in the ear for stealing her car that I loved her. Which also leads back to her dad hating me, but whatever. There’s a good reason behind the car … behind the car stealing. If you ask her, probably not.
If the sex and love work out, it usually ends in… drum roll, please…. You guessed it.
3.Marriage. Being married is ridiculously hard. Staying married, even harder. I can give you some advice, but you probably shouldn’t listen to me. I took advice from a porn star, took a tiny blue pill, and fell through a shower door. I’d like to never remember that night again.
Somewhere along this terrifying journey of marriage and parenthood—my swimmers made five of the little sh*ts angels—our relationship as husband and wife fell apart. I can pinpoint the exact moment, as you’ll soon see, but that’s what leads me to this.
Sex. Love. Marriage. And all the chaos in between.
I’m not proud of what I resorted to at times and completely own my dumbass moments, but we’re friends, right? Proceed with caution.

So reading a book about the loss of a child is hard. I usually avoid them like the plague but after reading reviews and reading that sentiment said over and over I decided to give this a go and I’m so glad I did. While this is book is full of incredible pain that no parent should ever have to suffer it is so real. There was no sugarcoating of anything. You really got insight into what happens to a couple, a family, when a tragedy occurs. The thing this author did so well is surround the couple with such and eclectic, eccentric, amazingly wonderful, unexpected, groups of people. Everyone of them instrumental in in helping Noah and Kelly find their way back to each other. This is absolutely a must read book. The sadness is so well balanced with incredible humor that makes it much easier to read than you would expect.
Wow brilliant read this was.
Sex, love, and marriage this was an excellent book Shey best book yet.
I was hooked from beginning to the end.
I cried some ugly tears in this book that the words were blurring on the pages.
I’ve no clue how Shey does it.
Noah and Kelly are married and have 4 children
They are high school sweetheart. They suffered
A terrible loss that no parent should suffer with a loss like that.
Shey takes you on one emotional journey with is book. I’ve cried more reading this book than I normally would. Shey express The real life problems that couples and married couples go through on a daily basis. I understand the grief and the pain that both noah and Kelly were feeling.
I highly recommend this book you won’t be disappointed.
Thank you Shey for this amazing book.
Wow – this book. I picked it up on a whim and I’m so glad I did. Sex. Love. Marriage. was told from both the husband’s (Noah) and wife’s (Kelly) points of view. Other than Kelly’s mom, I seriously loved every single one of the characters in this book, right down to Fin. So, so heartbreaking and an unfortunate reality for many. But there was also quite a bit of humor sprinkled throughout. It hooked me from page one and wouldn’t let go. Seriously, if you are looking for a bleed your heart out book with an uplifting ending, this is for you. It’s one that will stay with me for a long, long time.
This book is a hilariously honest roller coaster that takes you through all the highs and lows of life. I laughed, cried, and related with these characters. They work so hard to make life work, but they also work against themselves and each other. This story unravels layer by layer as we learn about their relationship. Sex. Love. Marriage. Then comes family and life, which throws a giant wrench into sex, love, and marriage. As they do everything in their power, and against their better judgement, to get back to the basics, they work thru all of the things that put them in that position. Kelly and Noah’s story is both a gut-wrenching honest and outrageously funny reminder that things aren’t always as they seem.
I have no words for how good this book was!! The journey of Noah and Kelly was beautiful.
There was so much real life in this book it’s almost not fiction, the struggles they go thru are very much real for alot of everyday couples just trying to make the day. This book takes you in a roller coaster of emotions let me tell ya You feel Kelly and Noah. So get ready to laugh and cry and scream, get your bevies snuggle up and take a ride with these two You will not be disappointed!
Shey thank you for taking something that can be so ugly and making it a beautiful journey for the soul, And giving some people hope when they think there may be none

I have no idea where to even begin. Five stars is not nearly enough to give this book. I laughed, cried, and everything in between. The story was so real, honest, and emotional. A definite must read!
4.5 stars
This book it’s probably the most honest story that I’ve read in a long time.
The things that a married couple has to get through while having small children is a very hard time in life regarding parenting and life as a couple as well as how each one is dealing with every situation that it’s not always common but it can happen and then depression and heartbreaking could destroy a family but in this story, the author has made some great points and showed that love it’s so worth fighting for.
This book is a must read! I’ve never read a book more relatable to real life’s rawness and beauty! This book sucked me in from page one and kept my attention until the last page! As a married mom this book was as close to real life as a book can be. I wont spoil this book for anyone but you’re going to want to make sure you read this one! A true must read! Enjoy
Holy crap! Where do I even begin?!?!
First off, I have been in a reading slump. I’m a 3-4 books a week reader and haven’t finished a book since I reread the Racing on the Edge series in APRIL! I knew if anyone could bring be out of my funk it would be Shey Stahl and Jesus she did not disappoint!
There were so many emotions reading this book….I laughed out loud more times than I can count, ugly cried just as much and loved every single word!
Shey Stahl has a way of making you feel like you personally know the characters in her books. Her characters are real, you feel what they feel, cry when they cry and laugh your ass off at their antics.
Noah and Kelly have experienced a parent’s worst nightmare. This story is about their family and their fight to the other side. A must read and I’m only sad it had to end and I can only give it 5 stars because it deserves SO many more!
This book is amazing! It’s written beautifully. I laughed and I cried. I felt every emotion the characters felt. Life is messy and Shey did a wonderful job of keeping this book realistic and tragic and also beautiful!
Sex. Love. Marriage. is about a married couple who are having their struggles but are definitely not in any way ready to give up. I had no doubt that Kelly and Noah loved each other, however, sometimes things happen in your life and you kind of lose your way. Everyone is different and we each handle heartbreak in our own way. Kelly wants to talk about it and Noah does not. Marriage isn’t easy and especially not when you have four children, who are all different and aren’t getting along. These parents were under extreme stress, but stuck together through thick and thin. I could feel the love between them. I was happy that the author wasn’t afraid to tackle some incredibly hard topics. So even though the majority of the book was light, fun and weird, it also had some very emotional scenes.
This Beautiful story had me crying one minute and laughing the next,I might have gotten angry a few time(rain brother). Being a mother of 4 kids myself i understood some of the things she was feeling. Not being able to communicate to your partner how you feeling is awful. Kelly and Noah fighting to keep their marriage together after a tragic loss was a true test of love
They your amazing how you were able to write this story just blows my mind ,you rock
Laughter, Tears, Cheering………
Provided copy for honest review.
This book has it all. I can honestly say that I don’t usually enjoy emotional books, but this mixed emotional with funny and gave me everything I needed to love the entire book. Shey has a special way of putting words to our thoughts. We all think that our kids are bad or weird but Shey not only says this about her characters, but she does it in a way that you feel like you are the character. I laughed, I cried, and I cheered for the family of this book and those are three things that don’t usually go together in a story for me. Another amazing story by Shey Stahl!!!! Can’t wait for her next book.
Sex. Love. Marriage is an emotional roller coaster that will have you hook from the very first page. You will laugh, cry and being rooting for Kelly and Noah. They are such a realistic couple that I think so many of us can relate to. Real life love and relationships are not all a fairy tale, you fight and have agreements, you laugh together, you cry together, you make up, but most importantly you do it together. Kelly and Noah really do love each other you can definitely feel their love and attraction for each other. They are struggling to come to terms and find their new normal after a tragedy no parent should ever have to go through. I love Shey’s writing style, she makes you feel like you are write there with these characters like the story is unfolding in your house. A must read
This book had so many feels: sadness, humor, frustration and (for me) anger. This young couple who have loved each other since they were children were faced with one of the hardest things a marriage can have happen…the loss of a child. Kelly and Noah lost their oldest daughter and have not been able to deal with that as a couple…their marriage is on the verge of divorce because she needs someone to lean on and Noah bottles his feeling and doesn’t’ want to think about their loss. As you go through all the sad feels, Shey shows her writing talent and gives us the hilarious moments that really can only be real life. I highly recommend this book that makes you take stock of your own life….I cannot wait to see if there are any more to follow!
I was offered an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
This book will take you on a emotional ride found beginning to end . Thank you Shey Stahl for another great book .
This book is truly a gem, it chronicles a marriage with children, rather than a new love. The characters have to fight to stay in love despite tragedy. Noah and Kelly are such likable characters and their story will have you laughing and crying, relating to their struggles with parenthood. This book is so enjoyable.
I love the message in this book. It shows you what a marriage can endure. The characters are real and you can truly connect with them, you feel their happiness and pain. I can’t imagine having to experience what this family did. This book will have you both laughing as the craziness and crying at the sadness.
I love reading Shey Stahl’s style of writing and this book definitely did not disappoint
I absolutely enjoyed Sex. Love. Marriage.
It gives you a look into a relationship between two people that love each other and their family that experience the life-altering moments that effect each of them in profound ways. This book had me laughing, crying and completely invested in the outcome of it. Noah, Kelly and their kids go through highs and lows trying to recover from a horrible loss. The writing of this book is incredible and flows flawlessly. Get ready for an emotional experience while reading this.
