Sex, Blood, Rock ‘N’ Roll and Vampyr: A Vampire Rockstar Romance by KM McFarland is the first book in The Bloodline series. An interesting read that combines two brilliant genres of story telling.
West Side we’re used to being in the spotlight – until they weren’t. With their frontman Quinn having disappeared without a trace no one knew what has become of him.
Twenty five years later Jeff, formerly of the band, finds himself in New Orleans where an art gallery has just opened. Intrigued by the artwork, and the mysterious artist Jeff thinks he has stumbled upon Quinn’s unknown son.
But what will happen when he learns the truth – that the artist isn’t the son but is actually Quinn himself, preserved for all these years in his vampire state.
This was the first book that I have read by this author and I have been pleasantly surprised by it. The blurb and the cover I totally put me off a little but I am so pleased I started reading this book. The story drew me in and I felt like I had been swept up in the journey. I liked that there was such a large time span involved and that it doesn’t all happened in quick succession. The characters were believable and the book was well written. A nice introduction to this author and series.

Sex, Blood, Rock ‘N’ Roll and Vampyr: A Vampire Rock Star Romance is the first book in the Bloodline series by K.M. McFarland. This is the first story I have read by this author, but won’t be my last. I found this story took on a different view than in most of the other books I have read about Vampires. The story flowed well and I read the book in one sitting. I enjoyed the detailed descriptions of the characters and how the vampires interacted with the human society. I loved the highlights about New Orleans and Quinn’s storyline was unusual as he was a Rock Star before becoming a vampire. I look forward to reading the next book in this series.
Sex, Blood, Rock N Roll and Vampyr ( The Bloodline Trilogy #1)
By K.M. McFarland
Rated 4 stars
This is a book with story that has a ton of characters and reminds me of a soap opera. If you have seen one of those and like them. This book is for you. The synopsis really intrigued me. I was a disappointed in reading the story. I just don’t Think this is a storyline for me. I love vamps and have you read the title? A truer title has never been written. I did enjoy reading about the New Orleans background and culture. The whole death/burial in a tomb kept me interested. I like that stuff!
I did struggle trying to keep all the characters placed at times. The characters are mostly all vamps. They all have an interesting connection (think soap opera). There were some issues resolved so some of the characters grew but I mostly felt like I came in the middle of a story and was playing catch up throughout.
If you want a quick read and love everything listed in the title. Enjoy!
Sex, Blood, Rock ‘N’ Roll, and Vampyr (The Bloodline Trilogy, #1) by K.M. McFarland was an okay read but something felt off.
So I soon leaned going into this book that I was stepping into a story already in progress and fully developed. The synopsis is a bit misleading. I had to go back a look at the other books, because I just got the feeling that something so way off. This is the first book in a new Trilogy, featuring the same characters from The Vampyr series by the same author. This should be put in the synopsis, so people know you’re coming into an continuation series.
Also, I wasn’t too found of the writing or the flow. It was choppy in places, and for a short read at 155 pages, there was some lulls and, I don’t want to say it, boring dialogue. Outside of that, the plot, tone and characters where pretty outstanding. I love the unique take on the vampire world. There was a litheness to the tone, instead of that distance brewing you get from other vampire books. What I love the most, was how the characters communicate with one another. Randi and Quinn, even though I’m seeing them after the marriage, I felt the trust they have for one another, and I got them. I’m going to go back and check out their story. Because they have something special going on, and I want to know how it began.
Now going at the other characters, holy moly there are is a lot, and they’re all interconnected, I need a flowchart just to keep track. I think I got overwhelmed at one point. I love an good mixture of characters, but there is such a thing a just too many, especially with the length of this story. I think placing your focus on just the main MC, and side characters works best for short stories. Cuts down on clutter, and that’s what I felt after reading this story, it was a bit too cluttered for me.
Overall, the core, plot, tone and the uniqueness of vampire world, made up for the little things that pulled me out of the story. I recommended you give this story a changed, it will changed the way you look at the vampire genera.
Happy Reading

Oh my! Here is a good vampire story that has many characters to keep track of. Quinn, Randi, Riley, Jeff, Laurie, Nadia, Chad, Tristan, Giselle, Lacey and even a few others.
This story is about vampires, vampires and more vampires. It is about the secrets that vampires have to keep. It’s about the mortals that vampires love. This story also includes sex, blood and rock and roll! (What a perfect title!) The only thing that I didn’t like what how easily everyone accepted that vampires were real. I wonder if this is a reaction that people would have in everyday life or if that is a book fantasy reaction.
I felt that each character had a past that this reader didn’t know about. I had to check to see which book in the series this one was because at times I felt confused by the number of characters and their relationships to each other. Much to my surprise it is book one, however it seems to be a spin off of the series by this author called The Vampyr Series. Either way the storyline is relatively easy to follow and fun to read. This type of vampire story certainly makes the undead seem cool. I can say that I am looking for more to read by McFarland.
I can recommend this book for the average vampire lover. Those that are hard core vampire lovers may find this story not as dark as most vampire stories are.
Sex Blood Rock ‘n’ Roll and Vampyr by K.M. McFarland
5 Stars!!!!!
Vampires and a bit of mystery what more could you ask for. This is the first book in this series and I must admit I am quite hooked. I like how the author begins with a bit of mystery and then goes on to in essence write the backstory. This is also another version of vampire so I found it quite refreshing and unique. There was no cliche to this author’s version of vampires.
I really like how most of the story is based around Quinn and we get tidbits of his wife Randi and later on in the book his friends daughter Riley. I found it to be quite the page turner and I was eager to find out how things would turn out. I like how it sort of had a story in a story of sorts. I very much look forward to reading more from this author and this series in future.
Sex, Blood, Rock ‘N’ Roll and Vampyr: A Vampire Rock Star Romance ( The Bloodlines Book 1) by K. M. McFarland was a refreshing take on a vampire story. As soon as I started to read this book I had a hard time putting it down. There were so many different aspects and characters all having their own stories and yet they connected so well. I really enjoyed the atmosphere the author created, the details of their surroundings in New Orleans always makes for a good story in my opinion, because of the history the city has. The author draws you into this story and doesn’t let you go till the end. You can’t help but need to know where this story is going to take you. I think the characters were very relatable and thought out. I enjoyed the the romance and mystery that went on throughout the story. I can’t wait to read the next story in this series. If you like a good vampire story I think you will enjoy this one, it is very entertaining and well written. I highly recommend this story.

I love vampire stories and they have just recently become a genre that I enjoy reading..This story was no exception, I did enjoy it, I got confused a few times as to what was going on, and there is a lot going on and it’s going on with a lot of different characters.
It did move along nicely though and I loved that it was set in New Orleans, never been there but have always wanted to visit. The way this story was told you almost find yourself believing that all of this is possible and I love it when that happens.
This is my first read by this author but will in no way be my last. I will be looking at everything else there is available by this author.
I highly recommend if you like vampire stories, especially with some erotic scenes thrown in, then buy this book 🙂
I give Sex, Blood, Rock ‘N’ Roll, and Vampyr: A Vampire Rock Star Romance (The Bloodline Series Book 1) by KM McFarland, 4 stars.
This is the story of vampire Quinn Forrester and his family. Quinn used to be a major rock star. But since his transformation into vampire, he had to pretend to become a recluse and reinvent himself as the famous Quinn’s son. The only ones that know of his true identity are his family. But soon events happen that lead to him not being able to hide anymore.
This book is a little over the top in a good way. It is all about exactly as the title implies. This not for the cozy romance lover. There are some heavy romance scenes, but it is so much more too. The characters are quite interesting and I cannot wait to see more of them and learn more about them. The story itself is not necessarily original, but it is done well and entertaining.
I recommend this book to those who like vampires, music, and some steamy scenes.
Sex, Blood, Rock and Roll, and Vampyre by K.M. MacFarland is book one on the Bloodline trilogy. Overall i enjoyed this story and found that it flowed well. I like the authors writing style and ability for story telling. I love that it’s set in New Orleans and I love the roller coaster of emotions that I got reading this book. It was a great story and I definitely recommend if you are into paranormal and vampires. 4 star rating.
Sex, Blood, Rock ‘N’ Roll, and Vampyr: A Vampire Rock Star Romance (The Bloodline Series Book 1) by K.M. McFarland is a a quick and enjoyable paranormal read. This is the first book that I have read by KM and liked her writing style and the ease of the story telling. The story had me hooked from the very start. The characters and there are a lot of them, are enjoyable and as you get to know their past, their loves and relationships and their quirks and personalities you feel as though you know them and this makes them believable. The story is based in New Orleans where you expect anything to happen that is out of the ordinary and in this book it does.
This is the first book in a series and I can’t wait to find out what is in store for us next.
Sex, Blood, Rock’N’Roll, &Vampyr is book 1 in The Bloodline Trilogy written by K.M. Mc Farland. This story is a mixture of paranormal and fantasy. The story itself is about Quinn, he was a big time musician who just disappeared. His band mates, family, friends no one knew where he went. Until he returned as a vampire.
The story itself I had a hard time getting into. There were so many characters at the beginning I hard a hard time keeping track of them. Throughout the story I got more familiar with them but there was a lot going on. The storyline was okay once you get familiar with everything. All the characters were well thought-out and had a specific role in the story.
To get more of a back story on the characters check out Song of the Vampire Under a Bourbon Street Moon Masquerade.
