This drew me in right from the start! There’s an eerie tension to the beginning that I really liked. Beautifully written.
Plus, I want that book cover as a poster on my wall! Stunning.
“Seven Crowns” by Evelina Everest was such an amazing read. This book starts out with Ana working in a diner and then almost getting ran over after her shift is over then more events unravel for her to find out she is the sole heir to the seventh crown. As the book continues you find out more about what this entails and how she has to go about being the heir on another planet.
The book started out really fast paced which I enjoyed a lot. I love a book that can surprise me while I am reading it and this one definitely did.
I really loved the world building that happened in this book. All of the details from how people dressed on this world Ana lived on now to how they interacted was wonderfully done. I also enjoyed how the people acted similar to humans, but they had their own little quirks.
The story flowed very well and there was adventure the entire time throughout the book. This made it that more interesting. I also liked how, as the reader, we only knew what Ana knew so since she did not know who was after her, we did not know who was after her. This made me feel like I was in the story experiencing it myself.
I really loved everything about this book. I rate it a 5/5 stars and will definitely be looking for future books by this author. I highly recommend reading this book.
I received an ARC for an honest review.
I had a hard time putting this book down. There is a definite Hunger Games and Cinder vibe. So if you like either of those, this book is a must read.
The story really captures your imagination right off as you’re whisked away to an unknown world with foreign customs and unseen dangers. The author is very talented at keeping the plot fast paced and interesting while still building a detailed story world. There are so many different things going on in this book, but they’re all blended together seamlessly.
The character development is superb. In many books, only the main characters are developed; however, in this book even somewhat supportive characters are fleshed out enough to elicit emotion from the reader. And I absolutely love the use of humor throughout the book, it really adds to the enjoyment of the story.
Overall the book is very well thought out and well written, you can really tell the author is writing with purpose. I am very eager to read the next book.
Seven Crowns (Bellaton, #1), my first read from author E.V. Everest. Enjoyable, well-written fairly typical academy fair with some enjoyable twists. Fans of The Hunger Games should enjoy this book. “I received a free Kindle copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.” The gifting of this book did not affect my opinion of it. *Spoiler*
Anabella Halt is a 16 year old waitress on Earth – and a target of assassins, but doesn’t know why. A group of people loyal to her mother help her escape to another world in another galaxy, where she is rightfully a princess. But she hasn’t escaped the assassins, for her enemies live there too. Love and jealousy, honor and betrayal, teenaged angst and viciousness; this book has all the intricacies of a typical high school’s dramas … and the magic of wonderland.
This story is about Ana who does not realize who she really is and the process of finding that out. The author does a great job taking us on a journey with Ana to start figuring out who she is and we meet some good and bad characters along the way. I like the premise and what the author is doing. Great world and character building. I believe this is going to be a great series and look forward to the coming books.
A great story. Ana’s life is far from ordinary. Indeed it’s so far from ordinary that the foster child program that she was in at the beginning seems blasé. The academy that she enters has the stereotypical queen bee and a male hunk, Adam, to fight over. But Adam is more than the common airhead leading (young) man. The concern of who to trust is constant and generally ignored by Ana. The climax was completely out of the blue. The ending is heartwarming but unsure.
I received a review copy of this book from a third party. This is my honest review.
Ana has lost her mother, she’s in foster care, and it’s her 16th birthday. Over the next chapters, we find out a lot is not what she thought it was, secrets are revealed. Her life is turned upside down in an instance.
I really loved this book (so much I finished it in less than one day). The characters are great, the storyline is super unique, and you just get pulled in and the book won’t let go. It made me feel things, and only a good book does that.
I think anyone YA and up would love this book. I am off to get the next book in the series RIGHT NOW!!!!
Just when you think your life could not change any more, it does. Whisked away to another planet to learn the truth about yourself and your family. Add in political and high school drama, with some action and infighting with a few twists. This PG (13?) romance was one I did not want to put down. Cannot wait to read the next book and see what happens to everyone!
