Trouble. That’s all I am, and I get into it far too often. My last misstep took me off Search and Rescue and landed me in a f*cking ambulance. With a guy that would make the nerds cringe. If it wasn’t for the cute nurse at the hospital making life interesting, I might give up entirely. But she’s got my heart racing, my hands sweating, and my mind dipping into the gutter each and every time I see her … the gutter each and every time I see her pretty face.
Her past haunts the hell out of her, but I’m going to help her heal and forget all of that shit. If she lets me.
And she hates my guts. With good reason, of course.
Too bad for her. Once I lock onto something I want, I’m relentless.
The world can burn down around us, but I’m not stopping until I make her mine.
And when I do?
We’re going to set the night on fire. Every night.

This is book 2 in the Searing Saviors series. This story is about Katie and Derek. We met Derek in book 1. Derek is a cocky firefighter with a huge ego. Katie is an ER nurse . Katie had the misfortune of growing up with an abusive jerk for a dad. Derek treats a patient disrespectfully and he is sent to the “box” to learn compassion. This is when he meets Katie and she’s not having any of it although, Derek is definitely smitten. I voluntarily received an arc copy of this book and purchased a copy as well
Another well written book by Weston Parker. This story is about Derek which I wasn’t too sure how it would come across due to how he seems like a jerk in the first book. I can say that I enjoyed his character in this book. It was well written and you can’t go wrong with a firefighter/paramedic story. Enjoy
Loved the story, characters and the HEA.
Loved this book.
Loved the storyline between the characters although Derek was a bit of a asshole to begin with I got to love him in the end. Loved both him and Kate.
Lovely story.
A well written story about the firefighter and the nurse and how they come to their HEA. I liked to follow them in their journey. It was an emotional, fun, sweet romance that has lots of chemistry and passion in it. The characters are well described and they develop nicely through the story. It flows well of the pages and is a very enjoyable read.
The friendship, romance, getting realistic, learning about life and what matters is what this story tries to explain.
Worth the read.
I loved this book. I cannot wait to see where else the world may go. You will laugh and cry at the antics. It also shows that just because you think you know someone it does not mean that you know the whole story.
Set the Night on Fire was a well written story with some drama some action and some really great characters. The Parkers know how to create a wonderful storyline with plenty of ups and downs with some really intriguing twists and turns. The characters are one firefighter with an attitude, Derek just thinks the majority of people are just faking. He is pretty much an arrogant self centered jerk. Katie is an ER nurse who just does not like Derek he is a bit of a jerk. Katie is strong, independent and maybe a bit vulnerable. There is a chemistry you definitely feel and this is where the real fun begins. I absolutely loved and recommend this story. It was a page turner for me and I couldn’t get enough. Hope you will enjoy as much as I did. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.
This was another good firefighter story by this author. For me, both main characters were hard to like, but it was enjoyable to see how Derek developed through the story. Katie was too judgmental, although she had her reasons. They get a nice HEA, but I wasn’t as invested in their story as I’m used to when reading this author. On the other hand, I really liked getting to know Allen and I hope his story is next!
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
I gave this Book a rating of 5 ’s

Derek Janson is a firefighter for his small town of Searing. He is best friends with Hayden and part of the search and rescue team. He gets in trouble with the Chief and is put in the box (ambulance) for awhile. Katie Black is an ER Nurse at Searing General. Her father and ex boyfriend were abusive and she vowed to never date another guy who couldn’t control his temper. Derek is aggressive and cocky but with the help of Allen and Katie he changes for the better. I really enjoyed the storyline and characters. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
You can’t help but smile every time you get a chance to read about these hot firemen. They make you hearts beat to get and in need of them to come save the day. In this book we meet Derek, a hot-headed fireman who thinks life would be better alone…until one he meets this woman who completely changes he’s who look on life. Katie is this independent woman who was dealt a rough life as child. She wanted to make it better for herself as an adult so she became a nurse. One day they meet, get a bad impression but soon one that they both are what they both need in life. We watch them have some good times, hard times but most of all love. I’m looking forward to seeing who is next to find that perfect love in the next story. I give it 5 stars. I voluntarily read and reviewed this book as an Advanced Reader’s Copy.
This book will set your night on fire
Katie, an ER nurse, has a heated introduction to Derek, a firefighter and medic, when he comes in with a patient. As the story progresses first impressions are changed, pasts come back to haunt them and they must decide if a future with each other is what they want. As with other Weston Parker books, Set the Night On Fire is filled with bad boys, damaged yet strong girls and a happily ever after. His characters are true to life and often deal with hard situations, this book will set your night on fire.
I received a free copy of the book from the author. I had the opportunity to review or not.
I really enjoyed Derek and Katie’s story. This is a very intriguing story that is well written with some dynamic characters. It’s entertaining with some suspense that makes this not only and interesting story but captivates you from the very beginning. This is a great addition to Weston Parker’s Bad Boy Firefighters! Yes, every girl deserves a wonderful bad boy!
Set The Night on Fire is the latest installment in this series. This book features Derek, firefighter put on ambulance duty and Katie, ER nurse. Obviously their paths cross and their meeting is explosive in both positive and negative ways. Their interaction with each other is amusing when not passionate. Both characters were on the difficult side to like. One started out amazing and became judgmental. Where the other was jerk that learned the errors of his way.
Their story is dramatic set within high adrenaline moments. Great writing by Parker. I received this book for a voluntary completely honest and non incentivized review.
Derek and Emily’s story is quite the wild tale!
Derek is a character I had been intrigued by and liked in the previous book ‘Light Up The Night: A Bad Boy Firefighter’- So, while it was well explained, I was a bit surprised by his attitude, talk about a twist!
When Derek finds himself wanting to get to know the woman who is far to good for him a hate to love relationship with intoxicating banter thats entertaining and full of passion is ignited!
Dark, deep-seated emotional turmoil rolls between them affecting how they love and live, getting to know each other has its ups and downs but what Firefighter and Er Nurse can’t handle the chaos?
Hearts are all twisted up in this story! Katie volleys back and forth with her will she won’t she -that drove me a bit nutty, while Derek’s battle with silence made my head spin ha!
Still, I loved reading about the rest of the crew again, and the chief having such a significant role!
Full of heat, hearts bursting at the seams, humor and an excellent HEA!
I hope to see more stories from this fun, furious crew!
Derek is a firefighter who needs an attitude adjustment. Katie is a nurse, working hard and trying to escape her past. When these two collide, it’s like sparks go off and the ignition of feelings is amazing! As these two grow as individuals and as a couple, the transformation for both of them is beautiful to experience. This book will grab you from the beginning – you’ll laugh out loud, scream, swoon (just a little) and love the HEA that these two ultimately deserve. I received an advanced readers copy of this book and highly recommend it.
He’s a class “A” jerk! and Kallie has called his number spot on. Given ambulance duty because of his treatment of patients will he ever get back to his old job of search and rescue? He and Katie are like oil and water. They definitely don’t mix or do they. Will Derek find his way to getting on her good side and into her heart? I voluntarily agreed to receive an ARC of this book for an honest review.
I received an arc, and am voluntarily leaving this review. Wow, I loved this story. At the beginning Derek was kind of a jerk. He had lost his empathy for other people. So when he first meets Katie, he keeps putting his foot in his mouth. I can understand her feelings about how she grew up. This story was so well written and the characters were so entertaining that I had to read the whole thing at one time. I highly recommend this one.
ONE HOT READ!!!
Wow! This is one interesting tale that captivates from. Twists and turns abound with all the drama, excitement, action, pulse racing, heart pounding, page turning, emotional ride. The characters and their personalities are so realistic and believable it feels like you can just reach out and touch them. The scenes are descriptive and detailed it really pulls this read together beautifully. Parker did an amazing job bringing this read to life. Great job Parker, thanks for sharing this awesome read with us.
I’m left with some very mixed feelings about this story. I enjoyed watching Darek and Katie verbally spar their way into a relationship. And I loved seeing Darek operate as Allen’s partner on the ambulance. I just felt a little put off by the some of the characters’ actions. This wasn’t quite the Darek I remembered from the previous book, and I didn’t much like his arrogant jerk behavior for roughly the first half of the novel. Katie gave me whiplash. At first, I really liked her character, then she became overly judgemental, then she mellowed out again, only to get judge-y once more. An amazing job was done to explain her motivations, but even after finishing the completely adorable ending, I still can’t decide whether I liked her or not. I loved this chance to see the gang from the firehouse again and now I can’t wait to see what Allen’s book is going to look like. It’s always the quiet ones that surprise you the most.
I received a complimentary advanced copy of this book.
