A slow burn tale of actress meets musician, good girl meets bad boy, rich girl meets poor boy. Alex was a likable character, headstrong about the future of her acting career. At times she almost seemed rigid. Slater is supposed to be the bad boy with a heart of gold, but for me personally he missed the mark. I couldn’t help but lack trust in him. I understand that there is a sequel to this book, so I won’t write him off yet, but I do question his intentions.
This is a good story for anyone who enjoys slow burn romance and success stories. There is a lot of information about what it’s like to make it in the entertainment industry, especially for females. They were often up against unsavory characters, and this was especially true in the past. This book did a nice job of exploring the ups and downs of starting out in the industry.
The only thing I would’ve wanted more of in this book is a better look into the 80s pop culture.
This is a really lovely story of unexpected love. Alexandra is on her way to becoming the movie star she’s always dreamed of being, while Slater is reaching for stardom with his band. Slater is homeless and Alexandra is open enough to give a guy who’s down on his luck a break. They live together in a celibate relationship, becoming fast friends and eventually falling in love but they believe their career choices make their relationship impossible.
This is a beautiful love story and I enjoyed every minute of it. I felt sad though because of the characters’ beliefs that they can’t really be together. Their relationship is so beautiful I really want them to have their cake and eat it both professionally and in their relationships. As a life coach, I know this is possible and it saddens me to know how many people are unaware of the true benevolence of the universe.
A Super Sweet Lovestory You Will Fall In Love With
Get comfy when you pick this one up. Once you start reading, you won’t want to put it down. The story line is deep. The characters are loveable and jump off the page. The slow burn keeps you wrapped up until the end. If you love sweet romance, you will love this one.
So many things to love about this book!
Being a child of the 80’s, I felt right at home. What a fun era to set a story in! This book was very well written, with wonderful world building and believable, realistic, intriguing characters. The pace was perfect, the relationship was built up naturally and the romance felt comfortable and made sense, given the slow build. It was refreshing to read a book with characters that don’t instantly have a romantic attraction. Throughout the book you really got to know these people and become attached to them independently and then understand why they make sense together. I very much look forward to the next book in the series to see what happens next!
A captivating tale from a wonderful new author. This book is based in the 1980’s and follows the life and career successes and tribulations of an aspiring rock star and aspiring actress. The memories that are created and the struggle to hold it together while reaching the top of their fields is beyond belief. Captivating…….Riveting……..A must read! An amazing journey and I can’t wait for the next novel in the series so I can continue their journey!!!!!!
