Ann Weaver knows getting ditched by Jack Bloom back in high school was for the best. He may have been her first, but she’s twenty-nine now and way over him. When a night out with friends–and a couple of glasses of wine–starts them all talking about regrets, Ann decides it’s time to confront the past. Luckily, hers has recently moved back to town, and he looks just as good as ever. There’s … There’s something different about Jack, though. He’s funny, kind, and amazing in bed–but he’s also sweeter than she remembers. Soon Ann starts to forget she’s in it for revenge.
Jack is older and wiser now, and he’s ready to do whatever it takes for a chance at a future with very grown-up, gorgeous Ann. But once Jack learns about her motive for rekindling their romance, he has to decide if love can push through the lie.
Each book in the Best Revenge series is a STANDALONE story that can be enjoyed out of order.

I really liked this second chance romance. Ann and her friends, Maya and Riley are fun, feisty and extremely loyal. Add Jack and his friends, Dex and Anson and the drama intensifies because each women find each man their enemy. Plans of revenge unfold as the no plans to fall in love develop. Jack and Ann’s story is bittersweet with a deliciously sexy happy ending.
Served Cold is the first book in a standalone three-book series about revenge by Marie Harte. Ann Weaver and Jack Bloom were a couple back in high school when a series of unfortunate events caused a break-up. Having both gone their separate ways, Ann stayed in Bend while Jack left. Now Jack’s back though and Ann is still hurt by the events in their past. After a night with Maya and Riley, the trio decide it’s time to exact revenge on Jack.
Jack’s PhD is allowing him to be choosier about where he teaches and does research, so he has decided to move back to Bend. When he picks up his nephew from school, he’s surprised to learn his teach is Ann Weaver, the one who got away. He remembers the incident in high school differently than Ann does and he’s still trying to figure out why he wasn’t good enough for her.
What ensues is a truly combustible reunion between Ann and Jack that has the reader rooting for them. At the same time, though, also wondering, if the pasts they each remember have scarred them so badly, why it took so long for them to talk about the truth. I know, I know – as my husband would tell me when I ask a question like that about something we are watching – if Ann and Jack discussed this earlier there would be no book (or movie or tv episode).
The story was cute and I enjoyed Ann and Jack together. Maya and Riley are awesome best friends, and Ann is lucky to have them. Served Cold is the starting point for the trilogy and I love how the author weaved the stars of the other two books through this one. Not much, but enough to know who the couples will be and what happened in the past causing them to butt heads.

Served Cold is the first title in the Best Revenge series that revolves around three best friends and their plot to gain revenge for a misdemeanor from their past.
Served Cold is Ann and Jack’s story which is quite sassy and fun, but also quite erotic.
It’s a fast paced story line, with entertaining secondary characters.
The love scenes this pair share are hot, kinky, sensual and passionate.
Although this title is very well written, I struggled to connect wit the characters and felt that the story line lacked plot and character development. As much of the action takes place between the sheets, but not much else.
I look forward to reading further titles in this series.
In high school Ann Weaver fell madly in love with Jack, thought they had a future together… then Jack ended things unexpectedly and completely humiliated her in front of everyone in the process… and it hurt like hell. She has since moved on, outgrown her teenage feelings, but a little part of her would like to exact a little revenge… if the moment presented itself. Little does she know Jack is back in town, and her wish for revenge might just be granted!
Jack Bloom screwed up royally when he let Ann Weaver slip out of his life, she was everything he could have possibly wanted in a mate, but life had other plans for them. He ended things, on a very bad note, and they haven’t had contact since then. Now he is headed back home to stay and he is certain that Ann will be about the last person to welcome him back into town with open arms. But he has plans for a reconciliation, and will stop at nothing to get his girl back…
Served Cold is a sultry little second chance romance story that is sure to have you feeling the heat and smiling throughout! These two were quite the pair, their little reunion was filled with many moments that made me laugh, made me swoon, and made my toes curl. This was such a fun read, if your looking for a sexy read with lots of angst, pick this one up, it’s sure to score some serious points!! Highly recommend!
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this title.
Triple trouble has arrived and the what if’s are about to hit the fan. Move over Carrie Bradshaw and make room some fierce female competition. Sisterhood just got a whole lot nuclear. Served Cold is like the best road trip ever, except it happens standing still. Ann, Maya and Riley are forces of nature that are sisters of the heart with one common objective. Don’t get mad, get even. Jack, Dex and Anson are about meet the new and improved triple threat and their hearts may not survive the blow. Marie Harte is phenomenal at dreaming up strong minded and over the top female characters and this time around she brings along the laughter to tempt her way into the heart.
