A wonderful small town romance with characters that feel like friends. Serenity Harbor by RaeAnne Thayne will not disappoint.
I won a copy of this book from the author. I was not required to give a favorable review. This is a beautiful story. Katrina was a elementary school teacher who had decided to take some time and had traveled with her then boyfriend to South America so he could climb mountains, but ended up alone after 3 months but while there she started teaching English as a second language and started volunteering at a local orphanage where she fell in love with a little girl named Gabriela. Gabi was 4 years old, down syndrome and would need to have medical things done that the orphanage would never be able to do financially. So she had decided that she wanted to adopt her. She was back in Serenity Harbor for her older sisters wedding. While shopping with her best friend Samantha that ran into the new single guy in town. Sam left to get her mother’s prescription and while Katrina was watching Bowie, the little boy he was with started having a meltdown. Kat realized he might have a bit of Autism, and steps in to help. Which ends up with her get a job offer that would financially be able to help her get Gabi back to the states. I love the interaction of the characters and how Kat brings a little boy to be able to tolerate people around him and start speaking until a Autism Specialist is able that had to be arranged to help. Milo is Bowie’s little brother he knew nothing about until a month before. It was hard to put this book down.
Wow! What can I say….a fantastic story that had me hooked from the very beginning. It had me laughing, crying and believing that good things can still happen in this crazy world. I love Haven Point and the wonderful and colorful people. I could hardly put the book down because I kept wanting to read what happened next. RaeAnne Thayne is an excellent author that knows how to spin a story that keeps you interested. Can’t wait for the next one.
I love this series! Each book can be read as a stand-alone but it’s worth reading them in order. There are continuing characters and it’s like catching up with old friends. Another winner from RaeAnne Thayne
Intriguing characters. Emotional and action-packed. Informative. The author brought awareness to the struggles of autistic children and the joys of loving them. Truly enjoyed this book. As I got closer to the end I couldn’t wait to see how it all turned out.
Wonderful and heartwarming story filled with emotions that made me feel all fuzzy inside. I especially loved little Milo.
Bo and Kat’s happily-ever-after is the sweetest. I wished there had been more chapters including little Gabbi and I hope these characters will be featured in future books as well.
Serenity Harbor is a book that will pull at your heartstrings!! RaeAnne is so wonderful when writing about the experiences with special needs children. Having a child with special needs myself, I understand the difficulties and joys that one will experience. I thoroughly enjoyed the whole book. My favorite part is when Milo, who is a child with autism, spoke for the first time. It brought tears to my eyes. I absolutely love this series!

I always like this author and this series is great.
Another trip to Haven Point…it is always brings me comfort, joy, and a smile! Serenity Harbor, the newest RaeAnne Thayne book about Haven Point/Serenity Harbor, is about Bowie Callahan and Katrina (Kat) Bailey. It IS a standalone story however if you have read the other books about this town and the surrounding area, you will recognize many of the characters. I won’t go into detail because I cannot even begin to get it right but Ms. Thayne tells the story of these two (slightly) broken individuals who are wary of anyone and anything…and their journey to an HEA. I loved Bowie – Milo, too! – because they are so very lifelike and real in their feelings that you just want to gather them into a warm hug. And Kat, talk about single-minded and headstrong! But she, too, has a good heart buried under a lifetime of hurts and misplaced self-dislike. I always enjoy the depth of the characters that Ms. Thayne writes and this book truly delivers. I can appreciate Bowie’s lost soul, in a world filled with “feelings” and his growth as a man makes for great reading. I am a fan of this series and all of this author’s writings so I highly recommend.
