Book 6, ‘Serenity Betrayed’ in this great series by Craig A. Hart is another great goodreads. Shelby and Mack are back with more page turning action in a storyline that begins with an unexpected twist and ends with Shelby and Mack in a deadly situation needing outside help. The FBI is involved, but who can be trusted? Mr. Hart gives readers a well written story of unbelievable betrayal, questionable trust, not just with the FBI, but also for unsuspecting immigrants. With shocking scenes and fiery ending, it’s a must read!
Easy to read. Plot is a little unbelievable. But this is fiction
When the Governor of Michigan calls Shelby to be added to his security team how can he say no? Joined by his good friend and ex cop Mack you know you are in for an adventure! When the Governor disappears and they find he was not kidnapped despite what the FBI thinks Shelby and Mack follow their own leads and hunches.
This book certainly had twists and turns you would never expect! I love the action and gun fights! It was definitely an original story! I love these crazy dramas! I’m now hooked on the series and I highly recommend this book and this series!
Loved it, unfortunately this is so possible to happen these days in our country. Most Politicians can’t be trusted anymore
I bought because you dont see too many with a Michigan UP theme.
Good short mystery story.
I gave this a 1-star rating because I was so aggravated when the story just … stopped. It wasn’t even really a short story. It was just the first few chapters of an incomplete book. Up until then, I was enjoying it. But I really hate when an author deliberately stops a book, expecting you to buy another, just to get the ending. There should be a required warning so you know this before buying. Very disappointed.
Very good book !!!!
It keep me reading
This book is about 2 former police officers who get temporary jobs guarding the governor during a conference on Mackinac Island. The governor pulls a disappearing act and both men rush to find him and try to stop a terrorist plot that the governor initiated with Muslim refugees.
Simplistic & unbelievable.
I was disappointed. I had read a previous book in this series and it was ok if a wee bit far fetched. This was beyond far fetched, the plot was unbelievable and the characters the same! I won’t read another one.
Serenity Betrayed a Shelby Alexander thriller by Craig A. Hart is the 6th in a series of books about a very savvy fixer and his retired cop friend Mack. Shelby and Mack are hired as extra security for the Governor of Michigan as he doesn’t trust his regular people. The governor disappears the first night on the job and the duo are on his trail uncovering a convoluted terrorist plot. The story is short, full of action and suspenseful.
Short, quick and easy to read book about the governor of Michigan being stalked and threatened by a militia group. Then he dissaperes from a party on Mackinaw Island. Almost ripped from recent headlines.
Shelby Alexander is a seriously impressive detective! He is logical, calculating, and perceptive yet has a sense of humor. I like him. This book is fun to read and hard to put down!
“Short but intense” is the best way to describe Hart’s newest book: Serenity Betrayed. The plot felt very relevant in today’s political climate, and the book is a nice stand-alone story that compliments the series. If you like the other Serenity book, you’ll definitely enjoy this one as well!
This is book 6 in a series by Craig A Hart focusing on the main character named Shelby Alexander. I must admit, I had not read any of the first five books in the series so I can’t say if I have missed anything going into this book, but I didn’t feel like I was lost or missing anything. I just felt like the author had a knack for revving up quickly before taking me on an exhilarating ride! The characters were believable and the background was well sussed out. I felt like Mr Hart must have spent time in the area because he wrote as if he knew it well. The plot begins with Shelby being hired as an extra security detail for the governor of Michigan, who has been threatened on the brink of an important summit. As he accepts the job, he discovers quickly that things aren’t as they seem. A fringe group is gunning for the governor if he doesn’t change his ways and support their interest in the environment. But is it really that simple? And who is really behind the threat? The pace is quick and the plot twists keep you from putting this book down.
